I got a 10.1 3G version today in the UK and the first thing I did was a KIES update.
The firmware that's now installed is P7500BUKI1 (Bravo Uniform Kilo India One).
I've done a google and can only find one reference to this firmware, is it brand new?
I've also done a google search and a search here for how to dump a firmware and can't seem to find a useful howto, could someone point me at one possibly?
Thanks
Would be great if you could find a way to get the firmware uploaded - been trying to get the tab back to a stock UK firmware for a while now!
Does Kies not store the downloaded firmware?
I found out how to do a CWM backup so have done one and now have a fullset of .img files.
If someone can point me at a howto to extract them I can try to put together a recovery zip for you.
ok cheers. I tried to do a quick search to see if I could help, but I can't!
Is yours a carrier version? Is the CSC XEU or did you buy a Tab in the UK that's from another country? Mine's an October build and this is what shows in Kies:
PDA:KHD / PHONE:KG1 / CSC:KH3 (XEU)
There aren't any updates available which is unusual if they've already started shipping units with a newer build. Is the new ROM 3.1 or 3.2?

KI1 is a September build, it is Android 3.1. I have been running Italian (ITV) KI1 firmware for some time already and it is really smooth.
If you can give us more information then we probably can find this firmware on Samsung servers.
Please post the contents of following files (you don't need root to access these files, you just need a file explorer):
system\CSCVersion.txt
system\csc\customer.xml Only one line: <SalesCode>???</SalesCode>
From Settings > About device:
Baseband version and Build number

P7500VODKI1

Sales Code is VOD
The phone (as you've probably worked out) was Vodaphone initially but now unlocked model.
Anything else you need?

KH3 XEU was just released three weeks ago on the delayed 32GB and 64GB P7500's that were all built in October. What OP received is probably that update (along with carrier customizations) that's being pushed out to Vodafone Tabs. This is especially true if it's 3.1. I'd guess the next general XEU update will be to 3.2.

I know, and it is exactly what I need so that I can get my tab back to the stock XEU firmware that I have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get!
i think not yet

If you could that would be brilliant. I've been trying to get my tab back to stock and updatable with Kies for ages!
I live in China and I bought a GT-I9300 yesterday.
I noticed the phone was out of date when I got home so I started the update process, the first update went smoothly the phone rebooted and I checked if there was any other updates and there was one. The update downloaded successfully and rebooted to install and got to 31% and failed out and rebooted the phone.
At first I thought it was because the phone was partially set up to show that it wasn't a fake phone, so I did a factory reset and started the whole process over, and the same thing the update fails out at 31%.
The phone suggested I use Kies, but Kies says my phone's current firmware version is not supported via kies.
So I took to the internet to try to manually update, I spent the better part of yesterday and today trying to figure out everything about this phone but I just can't seem to get a 100% conclusion on anything so I don't want to try flashing anything and possibly messing up my phone. There just seems to be 50 different models that all have different roms and I don't want to flash the wrong one.
Info from Kies: Current firmware version: PDA:LF1 / PHONE: LEF / CSC: LF1 (XXX)
From my phone:
Model Number: GT-I9300
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: I9300XXLEF
Build Number: IMM76D.I9300ZSALF1
Part of the problem was the guy was selling both the Western Europe model and the Hong Kong model, I was told I was getting the Hong Kong but he may have given me the Western Europe model by mistake.
From what I have read XX means means Western Europe model but another website said ZS was Hong Kong? I don't know if I go off the Baseband version or the build number.
Then I thought I will just root the device, slap CMW on it do a backup and then slap CM10.1 on it and call it a day. But following this rooting guide I need to know which version of the phone I have first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
Also CM10.1 only has 1 I9300 (International) build is that a universal I9300 ROM that is safe to use on my phone?
Long post but the help is appreciated!
So I think I figured out why this isn't updating, and I think it might be rooted as I see the SuperSU app installed. I don't really care if my device is rooted or not. SuperSU has a "Clean up feature" but it isn't uninstalling and removing root.

I'd suggest you return the phone to the guy and ask for a completely clean no root version of the phone. But if that's too much of a hassle right now you can just flash stock firmware using Odin.

Right I would just flash to stock with Odin, but that was part of my question. Which stock rom do I use? Or does it even matter and any ROM will work, I think I have the Hong Kong model but I am not completely sure and I don't want to risk bricking the phone with the wrong ROM.
Your phone does seem to be an International version which means any ROM except the China ROMs will work.
The reason Kies will not update the phone is because the CSC is XXX which is pretty strange but seeing how the phone came rooted someone has been playing.
Do you want to use the phone in HK or CN? and do you need Chinese input?

I use it in China, I rarely to HK. I don't need the Chinese language on the phone although it would be nice as I am trying to learn Chinese, but I could live without it.
Thanks for your help! Much appreciated.
I a going to flash this ROM today and see what happens!
United Kingdom 2012 December 4.1.2 I9300XXELL4 I9300OXAELL4
I'm in a similar situation,
Baseband: I9300XXLFB
Build Number: IMM76D.I9300XXBLFB
Let us know how you go with the update. Thanks

The ROM you are going to flash should be ok, if you ever need Chinese input then flash any ZS or you can just install Google pinyin IME.
BTW If flashing the ROM you was going to, does work ok, then your better off having the International version than the Chinese version anyway, since you are not stuck to waiting for Chinese ROMs or installing hybrid ROMs.
Yeah I am having trouble finding a download that will work here in China and my VPN connection is down so it will be sometime before I can even download this ROM. samfiles or samfirmware can't remember the website, is blocked in China, hotfile.com is blocked which seem to be about the only 2 websites that host all the firmware downloads.
EDIT: Speak of the devil, my VPN service just released an update for their connection app, I am downloading the ROM now. Should be able to report back in around an hour and let you all know.
EDIT: Spoke to soon, VPN issues again.
would someone be willing to download I9300XXELL4_I9300OXAELL4_BTU.zip for me and throw it up on a dropbox account or some other website besides hotfile.com I am having trouble downloading this file from China.
www.sammobile.com
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yay, I was able to get my VPN connection to stay on long enough to download the firmware and I was able to successfully apply 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to my phone!
Thanks for all your help!
Kies now reads: PDA:LL4 / Phone: LL4 / CSC: LL4
Hey peeps,
I flashed a firmware with a different product code to my Lumia 920, and everything works fine. It came with CV-HK but I flashed CV_AU (Australian unbranded).
Just wondering if I will receive OTA updates since the firmware uses a different product code?
I am worried that when Nokia stops allowing users to access NCS, that I will be forever stuck on the current build of the Aussie firmware and wont receive updates (if a future update process checks the product code and blocks the install).
Should I leave it, or should I flash the CV-HK back to the phone just incase?
So I guess that no one has any idea? I've asked everywhere and haven't been able to find an answer.
i think the product code is stored in permanent memory, so likely what will happen is that it will check for OTAs/updates based on your actual product code, basically if you update it will likely just reflash the branded software

I cant imagine an OTA update being 1.2 to 1.4GB. That is what it would take to re-flash a different firmware over the existing one.
I thought that it would notice an incorrect Product Code and not update, or hopefully it would just detect the ROM your using and flash the updated version of that.
Wish someone from Nokia/Microsoft could clarify. Time to hit twitter.

Would also like to know. Can't find a South Africa Portico update so want to update to a EU variant atm but don't want to lose the South Africa Portico OTA when it is released.
The phone says its baseband version is i9300neugna2. sammobile doesn't list the neugna2 version at all. A google search gave me this website
Code:
https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Galaxy-S-3-%28International%29/9790/HUI/I9300XXUGNA5/I9300HUIGNA1/
Supposedly it's an Italian version. Apart from the fact that it doesn't make any sense since the phone has been bought in Austria from Hutchison 3, what version am I supposed to take? IIRC it doesn't matter, but I dont want to screw anything up.
Hi, I recently bought a (brand new) Honor 8X from an online store (I'm based in Belgium). It would not upgrade to the new Android 9. It has rolled out in Belgium, so I'm kinda stumped my device would not update. I checked the system information and saw a line "Custom Version CUSTC432D1". I'm a noob concerning technical Android details, and I was wondering:
1) What does it do
2) How did it get there
3) Is this custom version able to prevent an update?
Thanks so much for your information!

Hi there
1. Would not update: EMUI 9 is still not officially available to everyone, even sometimes within same country. Hard to say why.
2. "Custom version" - this is strange, maybe its a network operator based version. Vodafone for example will add some default apps to the firmware. Not necessarily a problem and should stop updates
3. Try downloading "huawei firmware finder" from Play store and see if you can update with this one
4. What is your exact device model? This is important to know. The model numbers starts with JSN-xxxxxxx

Hey. For point 2) just for the sake of it, I bought another device (from a physical store this time, in my country), and the same Customer Version was on there. So I assume that's normal.. (Afterwards, I returned it)
3. I found firmware, but for my 'code' (JSN-L21C432CUSTC432D1B136') it only goes to 8.2.0.136
4. My build number is JSN-L21 8.2.0.136 (C432)
It's probably just not available for my specific custom version..
Thanks for the info!
EDIT: was too fast on point 3 and did find some firmware
