not a problem, on a side note the only reason i ran the RUU was because my bluetooth stopped working. it worked on the odex version but when i flashed the deodex of 4.3 it stopped. (clean flash btw) so i swapped back to the odex version and it still didnt work. RUU'd and still nothing. taken it back to sprint in the morning.
but yes you can switch back to older firmware fine with no problems.
Good to know this works:thumbup:

This is just an FYI for anyone who wants to use VipeRUU, but can't get it to work, or doesn't have access to a computer. If you open the zip file, you will find a file called "rom.zip." If you change this filename to PJ75IMG.zip, and place it on the root of your ext sd card, it will run the entire RUU as normal.
It also leaves your bootloader unlocked. I used this to return back to stock (in appearance) and get Sprint to order my a new phone. Now, I'm back on Sense 5, fully restored in under an hour (without a nandroid).
Very good to know!

For the sake of being precautions, I can do the unofficial update from captain and then viperuu to go back to older roms. Correct?

Correct

With the new firmware you can only run his sense 5 Rom or chubz 5.5
But if you need to go back to older roms without the updated partitions (or want to) you can run viperuu to get back.

I am not exactly sure if you need to take an OTA to be able to flash ViperMax 2.0.0. However, OTA will certainly upgrade your phone's bootloader which is 2.49.0.000
You need to unroot your phone to be able to take OTA.
To unroot:
* Restore stock backup
* flash stock recovery
* Relock your bootloader.
* After all of this, boot into stock recovery and Factory Rest and finally boot into your phone.
Now you should be able to receive OTA.
Let me know if you would need to know something else.

The 4.4.2 firmware isn't included in Viper 2.0 rom. It can be installed as stated in farazhassankhan post or fastboot installation.
back to stock

if your s-off you don't want to change you bootloader, just install 2.0 and wait(if someone makes one)for a flashable firmware for s-off users.with stock recovery and hboot removed,
from version 4.3 to4.4.2

yeah you can flash it, are you on twrp 2.6.3.0 or higher no problem i would flash viperone 2.. clean flash that is.
wipe:
dalvic
cache
data
system
not the internal(be careful here, you don't check it by mistake
boot to recovery, tap wipe>advanced wipe, then select the above
if wifi still doesn't work you may need to flash the radio from the update. i don't have this phone so, maybe someone here will make a flashable for just the radio are you s-off??

Just an updated radio and hboot are the only difference. Who is your provider so I can link you to the correct its firmware.

The boot.img is located in the vipe zip folder you download that has your rom.zip
Is that what you were asking?
It might just be easier for you to backup your data. And just flash either a stock rom or RUU and it will update itself.
i used RUU and got bootloop now i finaly got it to boot up in to bootloader but when i try to go to recovery it just bootloops Can anyone point me to
the rite direction(verizon htc one max) bootloader says unlocked -s-off -Hboot2.49 Radio 1.36.680122
restored

So I haven't touched ROMs in months and apparently kitkat and Sense 6 were released. Basically i need help with the process of flashing the new roms and updating my recovery (TWRP). Basically, what do i do first and is there another step that I'm missing?

Follow the directions in the OP for the ROM of your choice. All should be good.

To add to this first you should flash a stock based Rom and accept the ota because there have been new radios and bootkoaders released. And or just flash ithe ota firmware. Then after your on the latest firmware then do what he said.

I rooted my HTC One and I have been on plenty of different ROMs and I am on a sixth sense ROM right now. The official m7 Sixth Sense ROM is coming out for at&t users next week. I want to restore and go back to the stock at&t Rom so I can update it when it comes out. I do not currently have s-OFF. So how would I do this step by step? Thanks!
