Application updates

I've installed IMDB long back. the version in my phone now is 2.60, but when I checked on the play store it is 3.11. Why does the play store doesn't show an option to update to the latest version? Does versions vary with devices?

[Q] play store dont show my installed app saying not installed by play store

Hi there, seems i got a quite strange problem here.
I'm on a CM10.1 nightly rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099499) and today I accidentally discoverd that the play store dont display my installed app any more, which was fine last week(i did an update of some apps that time, not related to play store services), like the screenshot showed only two buttons left there. And I tried unstalled and reinstalled one of the app(gps test), and it told me that "this app was not installed by google play store". After the reinstallation the app showed up in the "installed app" section this time.
I check all my apps in the phone with "pm list -3 -i" to see if the installer is wrong(i installed all my 3rd party apps with airdroid last time i flashed the rom, and the apks, which were downloaded from play, were pulled from the phone itself). i found out that the values of installer attribute of apps i update last week were "com.android.vending"(for instance greenify), while others wre just "null". But the strange thing is that neither of them showed up in the "installed app" section.
I guess this has something to do with google's recent policy change for not allowing non-play-installed app to be updated through play store. But i just wonder what exactly happened to my device and if there is a solution to it without reinstalling every app. Thank you very much!
EDIT: the web version of google play don't show my apps, either.

[Q] Update to Google Play 4.9 incompatible?

Yesterday Google Play (com.android.vending) stopped working. It consquently crashed everytime I loaded it.
I restarted the tablet and Google Play was completely gone. All dependent apps (Google+, Gmail, etc) and apps that rely on Google Play for billing either stop working or have issues. I cannot install any apps now that Google Play is gone.
I updated the tablet to the latest firmware (I had the original 4.3 on there from around the beginning of the year) now I just updated to 10.4.B.0.109 to see if that helped but it did not.
(My Samsung phone has successfully updated Google Play the other to a new version 4.9.13 with a significantly different look and feel so I expect Google has rolled out a big update that has broken my tablet)
Has anyone else experienced this?
Same as me , my google play version 4.9.13, everytime i tap the menu from left-top button, it will crash.

Click to collapse
Thanks letting me know.
Have you restarted your tablet yet since Google Play updated? It was crashing for me and was when I rebooted hat it completely disappeared.
Actually, i try clear cache and restart, still same result.
And i did factory reset, because it is a development machine, but no luck.
So it may be bug of this version.
The model is LG L9 P760
Strange. Works perfectly on my end (Tablet Z, .230, KK).

I faced with this bug. You have to revert to 4.8.20 and then install 4.9.13 as ordinary apk, reboot and it will work as promised.

Google Play store app not displaying the same info as the web version of Play Store

Hi
When I log into the Web version of the Google Play store, I see some applications that says they are installed on my phone, but in reality, they are not installed on my Samsung Galaxy S3.
Last year, my phone was out of service for 2-3 months (I had a spare cell), and I think this is the cause. When my phone crashed, I believe I had those applications listed in Play Store (web) installed at the time. After I finally came around at installing the stock ROM (Bell Canada), then these applications showed up.
Is there a way to re sync what I have installed on my phone (Google Play store android app) and the Web version of Google Play store?
Thank you for your help

Google Play Store [Services/GMS] problems [June 2016]

I had to fight this on 2 tablets now. The play store gives connection problems. I've tracked the issue down to the newer versions of Google Play Services.
Google Play services v 8.7.03 worked fine, such that Play Store never had issues. Then one tablet updated to Google Play services v 9.0.83 end of May, and another one just updated a week ago to Google Play services v 9.2.56. This screwed up the Play Store, which started to display the connection error. What's interesting is that if I manually re-install 8.7.03, the Play Store is still unstable, requiring me to sign in here and there.
Today I've installed a patched version of Play Store, the one that should not update itself (google for "patched google play store", select the link that also has the smiley app). Then I re-installed the 8.7.03 version of Play services. Regardless, within minutes, the Play Services got updated back to 9.2.56 (apparently, the patched Play Store does not prevent updates to Google Play Services). Yet for some reason this latest permutation seems to work, and I am finally able to get apps from the Play Store again.
There is no way to block the Google Play Services updates as we could do on FireOS 4.5.x ... The old trick with the directories named as apk does not work ...
Anyway, what the situation out there ? I am not seeing many reports, but the issues must be happening ! Please, chime in!
