Using clockworkmod recovery??
Stock recovery only allows .zip's signed by Samsung.

As above....are you rooted? If not then use c.f. root, find it in original android development

No sir, im not. I'm trying to root it using mike1986 thread. Thanks for the tip. I'm now trying using chainfire's method.
Update:
Trying to use CF Root, but my S3 is not being recognized. It doesn't show "ADDED" at odin3.
Installing Samsung Kies
Update :
Installed samsung kies, updated all firmwares and device drivers.
Opened up Odin, added in the .tar file and connected my device "ADDED"
Completed the process. Had SuperSU and CWM in my device!
Woohoo! After rooting with CF Root, i was able to install custom rom!
Thank you guys!

As long as your phone is (1) an I9300 and (2) the rom is for an I9300, why shouldn't you?
I recently rooted my Samsung galaxy s3 i9300 (I9300XXUGMK6) it's running android 4.3 jellybean. I rooted it using CF root. I flashed it using Odin and when it all booted i downloaded root checker to see if everything went smooth. However it said i wasn't rooted so when i went to open SuperSU it told me that it couldn't find the SU binary and it said i had to re-root it if i came from android 4.3? Please help me. I was going to flash s4 revolution but i need root before i can. Any help would be grateful

Uninstall SuperSu and Try to install Supers Su from play store.
Or
Flash a cwm flashable supersu zip (search in chain fire thread)

Hello guys, I actually have a Samsung galaxy s3 i9300, I finally installed after having some technical problems the AOKP rom, but here is my strange problem : my phone isn't rooted anymore ! I don't think that many people already had this curious problem so, anyone knows how it actually can be ?
Thanks a lot

First, what ROM did you install? Some ROM's strangely don't come pre-rooted, so you'll need to install SuperSU zip in recovery to be rooted.

I installés thé AOKP's KitKat ROM with the Google apps pack
I did a backup with clockworkmod before so I kept my apps including supersu but obviously it does not work anymore I don't get it. If I install ssu ZIP in recovery will it ne enough to get back my root ?
Wow that's a problem I can't install ZIP in recovery anymore
Maybe something is missing in my phone, something like the bootloader ?
Using XDA for first time, can anyone HELP me in ROOTING Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900H with Marsmellow 6.0.1 without losing data like in KingRoot. Thanks!

The only reason to use Kingroot is if there are no other options for your phone. You can root via CF Auto Root or via instaling TWRP and using that to flash the SuperSU zip. Plenty of info about this in the S5 forums here.
CF AUTO ROOT is available for 5.0 ..and TWRP is not available for this model
Can anyone kindly guide how to root stock S5 G900h on 6.0.1. I have tried odin method to flash twrp. After showing 'pass' and reset phone still no twrp.
