You can only root the XT926 if you've unlocked the bootloader, and the bootloader was only ever unlockable while it was on 4.1 Jellybean. If you didn't unlock the bootloader when it was on JB, you're SOL. Sorry.

It worked, thank you!

That's awesome that Towelroot works on this phone. Almost makes me wish I kept mine and stayed with Verizon. Almost. Well, not almost. In fact, not at all. F#[email protected] Verizon! I do wish T-Mobile had a phone like these though. The huge battery on my MAXX was what kept me connected to friends and family when I had an unscheduled overnight stay in the hospital (I got jumped and stabbed) without a charger.

Root for Internation Razr

Hi All,
I just got my Motorola razr XT910 in the UK and tried rooting it. The root methods for XT912 Droid Razr do not work.
Does anyoe know if there is a root method for the EU version?
I received my XT910 (Rogers Canadian Version) on Monday (had to activate and purchase to get the Sales Rep to Give me one) and while waiting to receive my Sim Unlock Code, used the quick rooting method that came out same day or so, and worked as advertised.
I followed the how to, and it was really point and click... done!

Has anyone got any info on this? I am still looking to root mine. Will try some more methods tomorrow, but would want to make sure it can be done at present time.
Some reported that Pete's exploit worked flawlessly for their XT910, worth a shot.

I try all of them, but no luck, and the the software says it is for 2.3.4, not 2.3.5

Hi,
Can you not share it with those who already have the phone? It was released in Europe a few days ago.
PM me if you can please.
once you root the phone does that mean your bootloader is now unlocked?

Nope. Only gives you access to root.
Maybe you even unlocked the bootloader?

To much confusion about how to root my TP. After researching for the last two days I can't figure out or find instructions on how to root my prime having the following:
Build number: ...10.4.2.18 version (4.1.1)
Can find for every build number but not for 18 :crying:
Can anybody point me in the right direction??

I dont know if there is an easy root for jelly bean. The only way is to unlock your bootloader using the app provided by asus, then use a custom recovery to root.

Yes i believe people have been able to unlock on jellybean though.
shouldn't be any harm in trying the app

Worked for me. Same build number as you have.
I just did it a few days ago myself. I was completely stock up to 4.1.1
Then I followed the rooting guide by first grabbing the Unlock_Device_App_v6.apk from the asus site and installing it on the tablet.
Once completed, your device says "Your device is unlocked" on the Asus logo screen when booting in the top left corner.
Afterwords I loaded into fastboot and ran the command shown in the guide to copy over twrp.
and that was that...

[Q] Can't make Razr Utility work, no root

Hi,
I've been trying to root my XT912 using the latest Droid Razr Utility.with no success. It fails (see attached)
I wonder if I've got one of the XT912's that have a locked boot loader?
I've installed the moto drivers and have set the 912 as specified.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

What build are you on? ICS or JB?
Post exactly what you are facing. I can't see any attachment.
All XT912 have the locked bootloader, that is not the problem.

[Q] Root Sony Xperia Z Tablet - Android 4.3

Hi all,
I have Sony Xperia Z Tablet which I want to gain root access for.
Device details:
Model number: SGP311
16GB
Android 4.3
Build Number: 10.4.B.0.577
Not sure if relevant, but the tablet was bought in USA.
I'm pretty much a newbe here, so I would like, if possible, to get a link for a simple tutorial how to root my device.
10'x!
If only there was a search button...

Hi Felimenta97,
Thanks for your reply.
I have seen the post you've linked here before I've posted my question (I definitely know how to use the search option ) but its seemed somewhat complicated/Indirect way compare to the simple ways of rooting I'm used to from my 2 other devices (SGS3, Nexus 4)
Is there any simpler/straightforward way?
Thanks in advance!

Nope. There is no current exploit in 4.3 Sony firmware. So, you either unlock your bootloader, or do that process.
Wait till 4.4!
If I was you, I'd wait till KitKat upgrade comes out! after that I'd root my tablet

Anyway, has anyone tried to root this tablet on 4.3 with Kingo App or VROOT?

I tried with VROOT, but seems like there's no update yet. Was researching about 4.3 root methods, there a few, most of them you have to go back to 4.2 and then upgrade, but a direct root, no, I haven't found one yet :good:

I have same phone and also rooted with Kingroot and I not sure if its my best option atm and have 2 questions about it.
1. Is this the app that giving me the screen when phone is idle that trying to sell me something as I like to remove that screen.
2. How can I remove Kingroot and get a root that use Super SU or any other good root that working besides Kingroot?
