Anyone upgrading to the G3 from the G2? - G2 General

I am severely tempted to. I almost went to the Xperia Z2 but I am glad I held off. The most important thing for me and the thing I sorely missed in the G2 is expandable storage and I am glad LG listened to feedback on that.

One word. CIRCLEJERK.
I'm new to SXS forums, having come from X8 about a month or so, so i don't know you that much... However, from what I can tell is you are one of the few insightful and knoweledgable members about Xperia and Android in general, on this sub-forum. Trolls, whiners, bashers are everywhere and we should not let them be the cause of quality posters leaving. I understand your frustration but hope you reconsider.

I like the way you actually spelled pretty much all of that correctly. It's 'knowledgeable' though, without an E before the first L and with an E after a G. But anyway, that's me being a grammar nazi. I hope to see you in my humble work-in-progress sanity corner on Rootz.

I for one will miss your input here K900 if you decide to keep your distance from xda.
I'd just like to say thanks for your work here, and also I hope you will reconsider your envolvement with this forum.
Don't let em grind you down bud
K900,
I have not been the mod for this forum for long but you have stood out to me in my daily activities here. You always appear to be quite helpfull and knowledgeable in many areas of the xperia and android in general. If there is something or someone that has led to your decision to leave xda I want you to know that my pm box is always open and I would be glad to speak with you on a personal level regarding any problems you are having here. If not I wish all the best in your future endeavours. You will be missed.

I guess it's just the people here turning every single thread into a circlejerk and generally ignoring the good side. I'm kind of affiliated with Sony, so seeing all that pointless, baseless hate directed at the awesome developers there who seriously care about you, yes, you there, the guy who just said he wants to get a GNex, just makes me cringe. I guess that's the general attitude around here, and that's how the internet works, but sometimes it's just over the top. There's also the real life stuff that needs taking care of, though that's not as important as I usually lurk at night anyway. I'm not really leaving XDA completely, just trying to keep my distance from the horrible cluster**** that's called 'Xperia S General'. Thanks for the kind words
Also, you guys are awesome just for managing to keep this forum in a state that generally makes sense. If I had the banhammer (don't give it to me), I would've probably gone all out yandere and ban everyone attacking Sony.

Damn man.
I'm not a guy that say's a lot on xda read alot thought...not people a follow just to gain knowledge about stuff ' that matter" and give me advantage controling a device...
I saw the same thing when I followed some guy over at x10 forum that left to another side aswel, because of the hate that walked through the forum.
Its a shame that the love for this device that brought people together is going to be saperated by the 1 thing we will never can controle....thats people comming to [email protected]#(()ck things up...by forcing every thread to go from sharing to battling over..different phones...
For me its a shame another goed guy is going away.....hope to see you at that site....does it has a forum with tapatalk?
I just hope for you that those haters wont follow you there....been happening. Before...
Tnx for what you conributed to this forum

Hi,
I understand your decision, bacause I wanted to make the same one.
but for now i am working on some projects, so i won't keave yet, but if XDA is not going to change I will leave too
Unfortunately I have been seeing the quality of the posts going down since I joined. Saw it in the Desire forum and now more and more here. Only the Flyer is still good as the community is so small
I have an idea though. The OP of each thread in the dev section should be able to give a strike to anyone who posts in his thread that is negative or unconstructive to his thread. If a user gets 3 total strikes on his account he is suspended for 1 month. Repeat offenders can be longer. At least this would keep the dev section clean and not piss off all of the developers so they decide to leave. If a moderator thinks something like this is possible I think it would improve the quality of the forum for everyone.

Where did my thread go?

I started a thread here in this forum earlier today stating that the G2 is an awesome phone. Someone else chimed in with similar thoughts.
I visited back here a few hours later and the thread is gone.
Is it against forum rules to communicate why you think the G2 is a great phone?
Please advise!

The first place I went was my list of threads.
The thread in question was removed - there's no sign of it.
I went and pulled up an email alert that someone responded to my thread. In that email is a link. The link is broken.
Moderators? Why pull down a positive thread about the G2??
Here's my post that was taken down. Someone point out what's wrong with this post....
I've been an Android fanatic from the start, and came to the G2 in early November 2013 from a totally tweaked-out Galaxy Nexus. I don't want to admit the time I spent over the years with custom ROM"s, custom kernels and endless tweaks.
Enter the G2.
I keep this phone bone stock - never considered rooting it. I have to say that it's been a pure joy to own and use. I was a bit frazzled with the early "erratic touch" issues with the screen, but VZW/LG addressed that for my G2 in an update.
I find the phone to be fast as hell, the screen is nothing short of gorgeous, call quality is excellent, the overall phone design is beautiful, and I actually like - and count on - some of the LG included apps. The battery life is unbelievable, which is especially remarkable given the size of the screen.
So, for me, the G2 is a breath of fresh air after years of futzing with Android phones. IMO, it's an amazing phone that continues to be a blast to use without any of the downsides of my previous Android phones.
Had to share some G2 love.
It was probably pulled because it was pointless drivel.

Android Development Forum For LG L70?

It's so frustrating that XDA doesn't have an official forum for the LG L70. It should show up as a searchable device. It's such a great phone and I think it's pretty popular, since it's so cheap and performs so well. Maybe if we all thumbs up this post, then we can get it done. Reply with any feelings you may have about this below too.
I agree. I bought an L70 recently for my girlfriend after virtually no research (she needed a replacement phone quickly) and I was pleasantly surprised as to how good it was for the price. I was expecting Jellybean but it has Kitkat. I also didn't expect little things like the LG knock on/off to be there, which makes it even easier to use when switching from my G3. Previously I had to put my brain into "Samsung mode" when using her phone.
The only thing I don't really like is the hardware home button, which looks like it was installed to try converting some iPhone/Galaxy users over to LG. This tactic might work with some people, but it almost made me look for another phone altogether. I'm glad I didn't though, the pros of the phone far outweigh the con (for me) of the hardware home button.
I think this phone is a little gem, and I'm more than a little surprised there was no XDA forum for it. I think it's not so much that the phone itself isn't good enough, but rather not enough people know it exists.
It all comes down to people developing for it and I'll be honest most developers only grab flagship devices. So if you want development for it then the users will have to dig in and make it happen.

I see Zelendel. That's too bad. I noticed "androidforums.com/forums/lg-l70.2610/" has one, but I didn't really want to have to leave XDA.

There is a big difference. That is a user forum and we are a developer forum. We focus more on developers then users.

This one looks like a better link. At least it has some development threads in there(like for Cyanogenmod, etc.) and I was just able to unlock the bootloader and install CWM through some of the other threads there too.

Feedback from A2017U Nougat preview

Hola
Many of us I know signed up, most of us did not get in due to limited space. Bottom line there must be a few out there that got it. I am not sure of the so called NDA that was required, but I am hoping some can provide some very high level feedback.
1. Generally stable? Enough at least for usage as your daily driver?
2. How close to stock Android is it? For example, same battery management interface? Onscreen buttons? Minute vibration controls? Camera improvements?
3. Root available? I saw from some pictures issued on the ZTE Chinese forum showing a warning about having rooted device on a Nougat preview.
4. Any noticeable improvements in cellular reception? Actual dBm values would be nice.
It is just to give us a indication that ZTE US is at least not only bringing Nougat to our phones BUT the skinning and functionality and stability is ok.
I'm surprised the firmware itself has not leaked already.
Hello, I have Nougat and can provide some feedback from it.
I'd love to hear as well

Watch out, people are already complaining on Z Community about what had been said.
According to one of the testers it is still MiFavor. Wow, can't believe I was fooled into thinking they actually cared with their "stock android discussion". Guess I have to flash CM and live with its bugs.

The 7.0 ROM has been in works for months. They released an early preview (screenshots) to the Chinese forum months ago -- of course it was still going to be MiFavor. The discussion poll about stock android for R&D was literally only like 2 weeks ago. If people think ANY company can just turn on a dime like that, then they clearly don't understand how companies work or how software is developed at that level.

I was one of the people complaining and I don't regret it. They're going to cancel this if you all don't shut your mouths unless ruining this for everyone is your thing. In which case, keep it up.
Moderator please close this thread as well.
This is not your thread... Not that anything is really going on in here anyway.
+1 on closing this thread.
Don't complain ZTE doesn't listen to us or play by the rules, when they are reaching and the first thing you do is break trust.
Earn it first, then complain after that.
+1 closing this thread
Why close this thread? This has no real bearing on the ZTE beta. If someone on the test panel screws up, that's on them. It's totally legit to be curious about the new OS. IMO anyway.

Thread closed. Sorry guys, but if the testers signed an NDA, then there is no point to thus thread. NDAs are legally binding contracts and a breach may invite legal action avainst involved parties... For everyone's sake, lets close this and respect the NDA..

Manufacturing Defect : Dirt under rear camera Flash (Pictures Attached)

Hello everybody,
I purchased RN 7 Pro on very first sale on flipkart , after using it for about 1 month I noticed few dirt particles under camera flash glass.
Initially I ignored it , but it kept growing day by day. While xiaomi bragged how sealed shut this phone is I didn't expect thing like this to happen.
and by the way my phone was very carefully used without a case.
So , Am I alone with this issue or anyone else is facing it too ??
Kindly check yours and let me know.
Thank You

well this was Guides , News & "Discussion" section.
I thought a conversation about manufacturing defect comes under discussion. maybe Real Life Reviews would have been better, will keep it in mind for future.
and by the way thanks for checking on everyone's devices for letting me know it's just me. must have been a monumental task.

Yeah sure, the Q&A section exists for a reason, but people like you clutter this section..Users looking for Guides are instead met with posts like yours which don't help them in any manner whatsoever.
Seriously Bruh? This issue seems to be quite specific to you, and noone has reported anything of such sort.
Maybe if you knew how to access the forum correctly you would have figured that out.
