If your phone APP crashes switch to default theme/style cause it was updated with Android 4.4.3.
The new twrp (2.7.1.0) cant flash cm11 without an error here on my international hox+

are you sure? because there's nothing mentioned in the changelog regarding tegra drivers/kernel...
the old TWRP could not be used to flash 4.4+ roms, i don't know about 2.7, just use philz touch com recovery for 4.4 roms

I tested it several times with chrome browser (lock screen, switch rotation, unlock) and the view isn't mixed anymore.
camera app still has a short lag before changing view, but much better than before
I also flashed via cwm. I just wanted to know if it works now using twrp ^^

I tested stock camera on 4.2.2 sense 5 rom (there's a package of cm11 apps in play store) and there's also this lag. just try other camera apps and it should be fine. and latest nightly is stable enough for daily usage?

Is the 20140606 stable? (I know it's nightly but you know what I mean) I'm still using some build from February which is a milestone release. Rock solid.
Too bad Lloir's phone is fooked up.
Sent from my One X+ using Tapatalk

I'm using these nightlies on my daily device since months. most annoying were the rotation bug and the bug where chrome got black on some sites when keyboard was acitvated (appeared in nightlies of last month) - both are gone now.
I cant say if its stable after 1 day of usage. in nightlies before I had freezes from time to time (especially when using gps - in my opinion) and had to hard reboot my device. this could happen 2 times a day or once in the week.
in nightlies about 2-3 weeks ago a had a bug where sometimes u couldnt hear your dialogue partner (had to recall) - didnt happen anymore
well... its your decision if u can live with that. for me it's ok and I won't stuck on 4.2.2

I'm sorry... All back. Rotation bug is still here back. Dont know why it worked so well this morning

Munjeni CM9

I tried using the latest gapps from goo.im/gapps on Munjeni's CM9 rom and was getting boot loops.
I used th gapps-ics-tiny.zip and was able to boot but calendar does not sync. Doesn't even give me the option for calendar under "Accounts and Sync."
Any else having this problem?
Use the Google apps in the Winsuk thread:

I decided to give it a shot last night. The ROM and gapps in munjeni's thread installed without any issue. I only played with it for about an hour or so, but it was really cool.
Here's hoping the camera and GPS can be worked out soon.
April 13 update
Latest version of menjuni's CM9 working great with a number of fixes:

Wallpaper size
I am posting this here because I am not eligible to post on the development site.
I have noticed that all versions of the CM9 ROM have built-in wallpapers that are not properly sized for the Aria. The wallpaper that loads first time it the right size, but once another is loaded, they all appear too big, and you can't go back to the stock ICS wallpaper without reloading the ROM.
Am I missing something?
And please note: I am not complaining. The Aria/CM9 team -- notably WinSuk and Munjeni -- have done a fantastic job and great service for the Aria network.
I decided to give this ICS ROM a try for fun today...after someone mentioned to me that the Captivate and Aria (as old devices) both have ICS.
It seems like it should work fine...for the most part...as an everyday device. As long as you can deal with having no working camera or GPS.
I didn't actually slip my sim card in...since it's not currently my main phone.
Battery?
Hey guys,
Im on winsuks latest cm9. it works great for me except my batter lasts about half the time it lasted with cm7. Does anyone know if munjeni's cm9 is any easier on the battery?
I didn't try WinSuk's ROM yet, I'm running munjeni's ROM as a daily driver. In the build from 27.4., camera and GPS are working; I'm trying now the deodexed built munjeni posted today and see if it works better.

Yes i had the same issue, run "fix permissions" in rom manager, i tried that option in cwm and it did not work. I am back on cm7 because for some reason i wasnt able to receive calls, i was able to make calls, send and receive messages etc...
fix permissions did not help. however I was able to get s2e to work by using superSU from the play store.
Haven't tested out calling/messaging yet
call and messaging send/receiving also seems to work for me.

Droid 2 Global ICS - CyanogenMod 9 port

I haven't seen this here, and I can confirm it works great (it has some problems, true).
Links for ROMs are:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18697-cyanogenmod-9-unofficialbeta-424/ -> official thread
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/28082-d2g-cm9-build-thread-629/ -> thread with ROMs
Two known problems are battery drain (not too much, but it exists) and com.android.phone process crashing.
The latter is solvable if you use GSM (I can't tell is it working on CDMA networks as I can't test it, there is none in Croatia). All you have to do is:
Enable Airplane mode.
Head to notification widget settings.
Enable the mobile data toggle.
Open the notification pulldown and long tap the mobile data toggle.
Mobile network options menu appears.
Repeat choosing mobile network type until you see that it shows as “GSM/WCDMA” in the menu, not in the selector that opens (selector items are named wrong).
Once it's set to GSM/WCDMA, disable Airplane mode.
You will get one FC, but that's it. After that, the phone will properly register on your GSM network. No issues after reboots as well.

And, BTW, I'm just using this, I have no connections to developers or any other affiliation to this ROM(s).

Please don't post there unless you can contribute truly useful information to the developers working on this port, such as logcat output. (2) The com.android.phone crashes only affect GSM use.
HEY GUYS , some great news for you all
DEFY has got complete HWA ( or HUI ) working on this locked kernel
everything including Chrome , flash player is working , it is as fast as any other official ICS ROM ( buttery smooth )
if you guys can compile all those changes into ur rom , it would be great
nadlaback ( milestone 1 developer ) made this achievement of running PVR SGX 1.8 ( stack loader ) on the locked kernel
also to mention : FULL HWA is working on both FROYO and GB KENELS ( so it should not be a great problem for you guys )

It changes with every new build, because development is proceeding rapidly. Some builds are pretty stable except for specific features being broken (especially camera-related stuff); others have more features enabled but are less stable; the newest build as of today has some changes that broke a lot of things, but the cause is known and a fix is in the works. Check the two threads I linked earlier for updates on new builds and specific information on each one.

very much so
i have been using these roms since late february, they are awesome
if you get the 7/14 build, the only thing that doesnt work is the camcorder and panorama
chrome works, the theme engine is working
these roms are awesome
I just flashed everything yesterday, and I've had no problems so far (besides with the camera, of course). Seems very stable and works very well; animations are smooth and no lag. Once camera is fixed, this will be truly amazing.
I also installed Google Now and I must say, it is amazing! Only thing not working is the voice search unfortunately... but you can still use it by manually typing queries!
I flashed cm9 and its worked great only bug I have seen is camcorder
Sent from my DROID2 Global using xda app-developers app
I flashed the latest ROM onto my Droid 2 Global 3 days ago, and the first thing i noticed is that it's a battery destroyer, i have an extended battery that used to last me for a day and a half with cm7, now it just lasts 10 hours on normal use (i play 40 minutes a day at most), and last night i charged the battery to 100% and this morning it was on 45% doing absolutely nothing at all, not a single call or sms, so either the screen is turning on by itself, the battery is not reporting the correct charge or this ROM is a powerhungry beast.
anyone else reporting this issues?

Touchscreen problem after flashing cm 10.1
Hi every one, i Flashed Cm 10 and after that flashed cm 10.1, keyboard wasnt working well. One day my battery completely ran out and i charged it to 100 %. after that my touchscreen is working oddly, it is getting pressed all by itself at the position of "v" in keyboard(at the lower end of screen, in the middle), at the same position it is happening, whether it is locked or on the home screen or on the app page. I flashed ICS samsung version, but the problem persisted, can some one throw some light as to whether it is a hardware or software problem.
I was on CM10.1 Nightlies...it is great ROM and a lot of good stuff, but still quite unstable for me.I don't think our Galaxy Tab 10.1 ever going to see a stable release for 4.2.1.
I went back to Stock 4.0.4, and flashed latest A1 Kernel. I will probably stay with that until there's good improvement on CM10.1

They're not stable yet. ie. you can expect random reboots for no apparent reason at all. On the other hand I can confirm that almost everything is working on all roms. I am on CM12 and am loving its neat UI.
Yup just as jnx_r said expect random stuff to occur because the roms aren't quite there yet. At least 95% functionality with a side of randomness. The UI is something to behold and is really fluid. While I ran it, I had little lag and no random reboots, except when I forgot to charge the phone and let the battery almost die; that sent the phone into a crazy bootloop. But, don't be afraid to try it out on your own, just make sure you read and understand before flashing. And ALWAYS make a nandroid. You should always have an escape plan to fall back on in case crap hits the fan.
What about stuff like camera, Facebook video upload and Snapchat video recording? I've been on Cm11 for many months and always have issues with the camera, facebook video uploads hanging and snapchat video recording not working.

DISCLAIMER: I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS ON YOUR DEVICES CAUSED BY FLASHING THESE BUILDS. THE UPSTREAM CODE AND BUILDING IS MAINTAINED BY THE CYANOGENMOD TEAM, NOT ME. I AM NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR TEAM, I AM JUST THE THREAD OWNER.
What is CyanogenMod ? It is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors of these cell phones.
Notes: CyanogenMod's stock kernel forces encryption. If you're unencrypted use a custom kernel to keep it.
Also this thread assumes you have kept up to date bootloader and radio !!!
The latest can be downloaded here Shamu Factory images around 1gb!. But i recommand you to flash through TWRP the Bootloader and Radio from here Radio and Bootloader around 60mb.
Installation is simple
1/Download rom + gapps (C-apps optional)
2/flash through recovery (Twrp or CM recovery)
3/Enjoy!!!

Sure, CM13 has been compatible since at least the beginning of this year
Hi, Thank you all making CM work and supporting this device. I particularly love this phone since this is Motorola (well, sort of) with a AMOLED screen, but more importantly it's the CM's custom features that urged me chose this phone.
I have been using the 160402 nightly with no major problem, only having two live lock screen force closes after reboot. Yesterday I hoped to upgrade to a more recent nightly, but that turned out to fail. I got constant FC's on Phone app, although the LLS ones were gone.
I tried cleaning Phone app's data, disabling xposed, but no help. I don't want to wipe data or otherwise I have to TiBu and then manually set up a ton of things.
The new post OP gives me a hint maybe my radio is too old (MDM9625_104662.22.05.32R) so I'm now trying to flash the latest factory radio and flash the yesterday's nightly again. Also it may be true but not so obvious that my cell signal (Tmobile LTE) gets frequently dropped (no signal/emergency only). I didn't test long before TWRPing back to the old working nightly.
Just want to check out at now if there is any other thing I have missed? Or why am I getting constant Phone app FC?
Edit: I updated the radio to .34R but it didn't help. The Phone app crashes every time I launch it, without giving a report button and it even didn't give me a chance hit the OK button before it disappears. I managed to call somebody with the contacts app and I heard the dialing tone. I was able to hang up the call with the notification action button. Everything looks fine except for the "Dialer" app.
Has the Sprint LTE issue been fixed by CM yet? IIRC the issue is once the Nexus 6 (running CM13 of course) drops down to 3G, it will never go back to LTE.

True. Maybe in the future.... Now rolling back to and sticking with the post-april-fool version with the one-time LLS FC. (hey I even survived the MOD one!)
Last time when I did a "clean flash" I TiBu-ed the system settings and all things messed up ending in another clean flash.... and TiBu again but this time with painful manual settings go-over.

That's the nice thing about ROMs though, you don't HAVE to flash every nightly, I know I sure don't lol.

Hi I'm not using the stock dialer app but the Google one from playstore and i don't have force close so that's not a radio problem but an app problem. In fact having radio up to date normally improve stability over network cell comprehension etc... That's not a big deal but it is better to have a Marshmallow fastboot + radio on a Cm13 build which is Marshmallow based
Cm13 nightly can be really messed up a day but not an other. i think you just catch the wrong one

I agree with you. Nightlies sometimes can be awesome but sometimes awful. I went to look at the github page for the dialer app and found they recently put quite a lot of commits so maybe one or two is breaking things but anyways those smart people will figure it out sooner or later. I will just wait and take another free software
I bumped up from a March nightly mainly because of a recent CVE patch (of course that went into the 0401 build mod). Other than that I don't really see any urgent reason for increasing the counters in my daily driver again.

I'm now on MOB30D radio (34R shown in settings, didn't copy down the version number shown in bootloader, but it did increase after flashing) and I can always make a phone call even now with an older nightly. so I can confirm the radio is working. I also noticed after flashing and first boot, when CM is about to finish "optimizing apps" the system gets a hot reboot (restart from animation) - oh btw another long-time bug is i never get themed boot animation unless i make a hot reboot (by FCing or any other way). Anyone same here?
From what I can remember the Dialer app has been a failure to me for more than a week. They did make a NPE fix there but seemed no help. Maybe I should install the Google's dialer as you do. I can still remember the AOSP English keyboard endless crash :silly: when I was on CM12.1 with an older device

Custom Kernel
I've been using nightlies for quite a while now, since my Nexus One and then my Samsung GS3. I've been reading up on Kernels but there are just so many... and they all say the same thing "Best balance of battery life and performance."
Yes, I could just try all 10 or so out there, but would like to be a little more efficient with my time, so I ask: What do you guys think is a good starting point for trying Kernels? I'm looking for obviously a good balance, but I'm a little more towards the performance side... CM13 has been a little laggy for me, especially with Swapps and rendering backgrounds loaded by chainfire's 500 Firepaper app. And I'll be damned if a colleague's iPhone is faster or more responsive than my Nexus!!!!
