I just wanted to let you guys know that I bought a gsm unlocked one max here from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00G7...d=1402153639&sr=8-1#ref=mp_s_a_1_1&precache=1
When I powered it up I went into networks I chose at&t as provider and lte works perfectly. I was really surprised because the bands they listed I don't think are at&ts. I was quite surprised. It's way better than using an unlocked Verizon model only getting hspa before like I was. Just thought I would share.

thanks for posting, Good to know, what is your MID/CID/Software version?
Is this what you were looking for?
Some of the reviews for the phone had complained it didn't work on at&t lte. Is it possible that changed through a software update?

Do you think you could extract the radio img plz

Sweet that's even better. I didn't even realize they had a developer version of this phone.

I just bought one..hope it works the same way in Florida..the bands ought to be the same anyway...I had a Sony Z Ultra GPE..never again Sony-the screen cracked (not dropped, just in my pocket) within 2 months of me getting it. There's a ton of posts in their support forums of people with the same problem and they're still saying it's a user issue, not a materials issue.

Yep I came from a HTC one and a xperia z ultra. Decided to go to 1 phone. The screen cracking in the pocket was a bit stupid. The phone was to slim and flimsy. A lot of people had problems with warping. I myself found it OK as I never pocketed it lol. The HTC one Max is of a much better build quality as expected.
437 dollars.. Not bad.
Cool..
Looks like I have the developer version too..is a 32 gig, silver one. Is there any way to tell what hardware I have? I'd like to root it, but I suspect not knowing what hardware I have would be a bad thing when it comes to flashing...I don't know which version of TWRP or CWM to use, at least.
Any help would be appreciated
Here's what hboot says..which version of recovery do I use with this?

As long as you unlock the bootloader - you should be able to root just fine
If you google this: twrp htc one max - you'll see links to XDA Forum threads with information about the recovery that is compatible with your phone...
Also can you please confirm that you're able to get AT&T LTE where you are with the phone that you purchased form Amazon?
Thanks
Sure do get LTE-using it right now..

Thanks for the reply! I may go ahead and take the plunge.... I know that I'd have to call AT&T and have them provision the IMEI for LTE but that's a whole other issue
Likely not on a developer phone-all I did was put the sim card in and it worked fine. You will have to enter the APN manually, probably, but that should be old hat for a phone geek.
I asked awhile ago if anyone was using the max on att,I have a rom already set up for only att i use on mine...pm if interested
Check mbps!!!!!
I have the amazon htc one max international version and it will work on att but at 3G speeds. It will have LTE at the top right of the screen but you are not getting LTE speeds. When I 1st received the phone had a att sim and checked the speeds 3 to 4 mbps on T-mobile im getting 25 mbps avg reception is spotty. I'm not dropping calls or experiencing buffering issues when streaming music or video like when I was on the att network check your speeds.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...ils&Q=&sku=1044339&is=REG&bundleId=1044339REG
They actually list the AT&T LTE bands in the specs, I ordered one so I will check when I receive it..
Confirmed! LTE on AT&T right out of the box...
So does this model get LTE on T-Mobile?
Read through everything including comments/questions/answers and it's a mixture of answers with no real answer.
And if so can someone provide screenshots.....

I went to the HTC event in Vancouver this week and I noticed an employee was holding an HTC phone with a dual camera on the back. I asked her what it was, and I got a VERY BRIEF view of a global GSM version of the EVO 3D and saw the glasses-free 3D effect. There was no Sprint or other carrier logo on it, and there was a numeric tag on the phone, and she confirmed it's the global version. She told me she wasn't allowed to show me anything else.
But there we go. Exciting isn't it?
Man I wish Sprint got the global version :\ I'd love to pop one of my own SIM cards in there while I'm traveling.

did you get to hold it or anything?!
I highly doubt Sprint would allow a GSM version to be released in the US, atleast not right away. Probably will be on bands not compatible in the states.
Vodafone. They are getting the global version.

The gsm version is easy to spot. Go to HTC and look at the Evo 3D and notice on the phones back cover. The ring around the camera is gold, not the American red color.

Yeah she gave me no indication as to whether a Canadian release was likely, but typically we see versions of European HTC phones arriving here a few months later on Telus or Bell. It usually alternates.
Bell just got the Incredible S and soon Wildfire S. Telus is rumored to get the Flyer. My guess is, Telus gets the Evo 3D if Canada gets it at all. Maybe rebranded as the Desire 3D, since they got the original Desire and the HD. Bell got the Desire Z and the HD7 though.
Or if Bell gets the E3D, then Telus will get an 850/1900 version of the Sensation as a consolation prize.
And I think it's pretty safe to say Rogers won't get any of the above. Their former relationship with HTC appears to be severely broken.

A little off topic, but how was the 3D effect? I'm really keen to see how it is in person but I'd like to know what other people think of it.

The only glimpse I got was from the phone being held in camera mode, and the display was showing a 3D rendition of what it was filming. I definitely saw the 3D effect but I wasn't in the optimal viewing position. It still wowed me.
Hey guys I currently own a GS2 i9100 and was thinking of buying a Galaxy S III soon as possible but ive been hearing that each GS3 of those cellphone companies are different. In terms of the outside of the phone the look the same but are they the same inside?
I think it depends most on which carrier gives you the best signal. Personally I like the 2gb of ram in the US versions over the four cores in the international version. I went with the Verizon version because of their great 4G support.

Also, one thing to consider: do you do a lot of flashing? Verizon's version comes with a locked bootloader-free of charge! If that's an issue, you might want to check into another carrier...I've heard good things about at&t...
Please do not take this post as a slam or disbelief of any kind in the amazing developers here-it's just looking like cracking the bootloader might be more than everyone thought at first.

I'm happy with Verizon because of LTE. No other carrier can give you 22 mbps down and 12 mbps up (my speed test just now) in almost every major city..!
Of course, the down side of it is that the bootloader is locked. Honestly, that probably won't do THAT much harm... you can still flash custom ROMs, but only to a point. I have confidence they will be able to get a fix for this.

What about that locked bootloader? What is it, and what does it do or doesnt let you do?
A locked boot loader means no flashing custom kernels. This means that most of the phones core programming can not be changed. No MIUI, Cyanogen, or AOKP roms.

Just read into it, the Tmo/ATT versions, according to another XDA post do not work on VZW.
Ah, if only the S4 had root. If this keeps happening, I definitely need to find another phone for VZW that's been unlocked/rooted.

This might worked for me when I was having issues with my SIM. Take the SIM and and use an eraser to lightly rub off the wax that's on the metal part of the SIM. I did that and have had no issues since. Hope that helps. Also, those work work because they're specifically gsm models. U need the one directly from HTC to get it to work on Verizon.

I ended up putting tape on the back of the sim to make it thicker. Almost taped it down, but that could cause problems. I just hate to keep removing my otterbox to replace the sim, it's getting loose because of it. Tempted to just go into VZW and make a big deal with the fact that I went through 3 of them even though I didn't and get them to give me the S4. Not sure if it would ever work. And either way, I'd have to wait until the S4 gains root.

FYI the S4 has root/unlocked bootloader. However the release of said exploit has been delayed until Verizon's S4 has had a chance to get out to customers to allow everyone a chance to utilize the exploit before it gets packed much like the scenario we (DNA owners) are experiencing.

Any of the Galaxy s4? They will be fully unlocked (for a short time at minimum) and unless the carriers locked them down they should stay that way. Or do you mean the DNA become fully unlocked?
I do (have done for nearly 10 years) Microsoft .NET development, but have little experience with Android development. However based upon what I've heard it at this time it seems unlikely that there will be an unlock (outside of JTAG/Riffbox based) at all. I don't mean to be pessimistic but it looks like quite a challenge that the devs are facing. Being a DNA owner I hope that I am mistaken as I quite dislike not having root

Hmm, what on earth is with the carriers locking them down? It's not like they ACTUALLY lose anything by having them unlocked.
As for the HTC One on VZW. I checked with HTC. The only bands that don't match up are the 3G bands. Then again, does VZW even have GSM bands for 2g? I just compared the bands to the DNA.

VZW uses a different LTE band than T-Mobile or AT&T. Also VZW doesn't use any GSM they are a CDMA carrier. This is why when connected to 3G you can't make use data while making a voice call (CDMA limitation). When connected to 3G your normally connected EVDO (i think) for data and CDMA for voice. The bands differ when falling back to 2g/1g but they are still CDMA.
Generally the reason (supposedly) the carrier locks the bootloader etc down is that it increases the ability/likelihood that a user will brick or otherwise damage the phone. This generates increased costs for the carrier with warranty work/returns. Also there is the potential there for a user to load something that has malicious code on their phone which could possibly cause damage to the carriers network etc.
If you really want an unlocked phone and don't mind paying the full price developer versions of most phones are available. They are fully unlocked, and for example you can get a dev HTC one with 64gb memory for 650$. However it is not compatible with VZW if I remember correctly.

No clue what I want to do at this point. All I know is I can't switch providers and that the apps I use for work require root since I work with network monitoring.

I'm going to get either an s4 or a s4 Mega depending on the features it brings. HTC one has too small screen size. Haven't ordered JTAG because almost everyone I see that has had that done has at least a broken tab on the case from prying it open/close. That kind of stuff bugs me to no end, and I'm going crazy without root access. So my time with the DNA is probably going to end in the next month or so.

I'll buy the s4 outright for the 650 or so. Then sell the DNA on craigslist or swappa and hopefully get around 400$. If your at the 6 month mark your not getting them to trade it out. Your other option is to look for someone selling an s4 on craigslist that can't afford it or needs the money.

Hi together, i just noticed that the "non-verizon branded" Version of our ADR6410 seems to be available in the wild (-> on ebay.com) ... that seems to still have the identical specs as the verizon version and NOT the down-spec'ed like that "desire vc".
appologies for just snapping the pics from an ebay-offer, but it's just to show it to you for reference! HTC logo instead of our "verizon-mark". no idea about roms or unlocks for that modified ADR6410-LRA (from my side) of course. :fingers-crossed:
according to the seller:
As you see - the unit is a "6410LRA". The "LRA" stands for "LTE Across Rural America." This was ORIGINALLY a Verizon product but it was passed on to smaller regional carriers. This unit WILL NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT work on the Verizon (or Sprint) Network - NOT! You WILL need a SIM Card from one of the Regional networks to use this phone (SIM Card NOT Included) and even then we make NO guarantees of this phone being able to work on any Carrier. There are some carriers this MIGHT work on but we don't know which ones. When a Unit is Powered Up NO Carrier logo comes on the screen.

i'm just not sure if the unluck (root etc) would work the same way. alas, not much to worry about it for myself ... since i already have my Dinc4G and here in Europe you can't buy them (regularily anyhow). was just wondering ^^
very disappointed with this phone
HTC has been disappointing me HARD as of late..
Not sure if switching back over was the right move, Samsung was great, except when they locked the s4 bootloader and there is $5,000 bounty not being claimed yet, so i doubt itll come, id rather dump this if no S-OFF and get the s4 dev edition..
I have one of these, and purchased it at an independent cell company here in east KY. So far it seems to be a good phone. Signal is good, and has all the specs I need for my use. Battery life is excellent I've been one of AT&T's faithful since the Cingular days back in the early 90's. However, just to be blunt, AT&T coverage has dropped by at least 50% over the past 5 years - hence my reason to take a stab at App Wireless App Wireless is locally owned, and actually is the oldest provider in this area. The only issue is they are somewhat higher in rates, and initial cost is higher. With that being said......
I'd love to make the switch. I still have a few months under contract with AT&T, but would be willing to pay the ETF fee. Even though App Wireless is higher in pricing, the coverage more than makes up for it. I'd much rather pay $70 for 95% coverage as to pay $50 for 50% coverage
I really need to get this thing rooted Basically just to install programs on an ext4. It surprised me as to the programs that will install to the external SD card automatically, but there are just those few that won't. Searching the forums I can't find a definitive answer on this phone. I have found where its been done on the Verizon branded, and the HTC Desire VC, plus... even the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE.
I've searched this and other forums - is there ANYWHERE posted that this phone has successfully been rooted?
Just wanted to let everyone know that I decided to be a "rabbit", and take a chance on my new HTC Desire 4G LTE - at least that's what the independent carrier calls it. It is similar to the HTC Desire VC they offer, but the specs are closer to the HTC Droid Incredible 4g LTE.
Anyway, whenever I plugged it into a program of sorts, it recognized it as the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. The big difference being the Hinc is a model from Verizon, ADR6410VZW. Mine is a ADR6410LTA.
All of the other specs are identical with the exception of the CID. The Verizon is a VZW__001 that mosts posts say to SuperCID it to 11111111 to root, but the ADR6410LRA is a UTSI_005. Therefore a lot of the steps are not needed.
As of right now, my bootloader is unlocked, and the phone is rooted, and everything is working fine. I also installed TWRP. So....for those that have the LRA version instead of the Verizon, everything here applies and will work fine.
Thought this may help a few.
I have the att HTC one that I bought off contract at best buy around july. I've been considering unlocking the phone to test out T-Mobile. I've been requesting online from att to have the device unlock but it keeps telling me that the device currently can't be unlocked. What gives?

How long have you had service? You need to have ATT service for a minimum 6 months I believe.
I have been with att since 2009. I am still under contract til Oct 2014 but that shouldn't have anything to do with it since the phone was paid in full. I thought it was six months for their gophones? At least that's what I understood from their website.

hey there josé!
i hope you are well. why don't you hop on over to the good folks at http://www.unlockcode247.com/imei/1/26/Unlock-code-for-any-ATampT-TMOBILE-HTC- ? :good:
i have used them a few times. the unlock cost me $3.20 and about 2 hours. a few times they took longer. but it's a comin'
and then you don't have to beg for a solution, when you already paid so much for the phone. :silly:
Okay well here's a quick one to bust some bubbles. I bought my HTC One via Wal-Mart on promotion in April. In June I figured to hell with At&t. With that being said I rooted the phone and got S off. Then found a mod on the Development fourm for the One that let me unlock the international menu. I bought a Net10 SIM Card at Best Buy. Cut the SIM to fit and BOOM!!!!!!!! No need for a UNlock code or any of that. Net10 gave me the apn info and from there I've been able bypass all the usual hassle.

OK I was finally able to unlock the phone. I called Att and told them that I had purchased the phone off contract at best buy and that when I would request the unlock code via their website it wouldn't accept my request. She then tells me that if I had bought it off contract the phone should have been unlocked, which was a lie. So then she starts questioning me asking where I bought it, how much I paid etc. I then told her look I have the receipt if you don't believe me. She says well we are going to need you to fax us the receipt. While she is setting up the claim she asked why I wanted to unlock it. I told her because At&t coverage at my house sucks and I wanted to test out t-mobile since my brother gets excellent coverage on his htc one. So I faxed the receipt and next morning had the unlock code. I tried unlocking the phone only to realize that since I had converted my phone to gpe I had to reconvert back using the leaked ruu and then unlock the phone. I am happy to report that finally I was able to unlock the phone. And then I converted back to gpe. Far way better speeds and coverage on T-Mobile prepaid than on att. Well at least at my home. I'm looking testing the coverage on T-Mobile at work and school before I make my decision on fully changing carriers.

Why can't I unlock the phone if I paid full price for it? I don't see why they should make me wait to get the unlock code.

yep, you didnt get lucky, they had no choice but to unlock it if you paid in full
just a tedious process that they made you run through
very simple solution, call ATT and tell them you are going overseas for a month and u want to be able to use ur phone with prepaid sims so u need them to unlock it for you and they will do so with no questions asked

Wow you are one lucky guy. Tried the going overseas line and got nothing. So i went through an online unlocking service. So which carrier did you end up sticking with?
Hi ,
I flashed a hell fire rom on my att htc one. Can i just enter the unlock code or do I need to first restore my phone to what it was before (as it came from AT&T and then enter unlock code ).
OP,
did you ever get the phone unlocked?
I'm in a similar situation as you but have a Moto X and they flat out refused to unlock my phone.
Tried some 3rd party unlockers and the code they gave me did not work.

Normally their policy is after 3 months from the moment you got the phone you can request the unlock code. and also the unlocking really comes out of who you talk to... Some are very easy going other not.

Yea, i saw that its 60 days. is it possible to activate my phone overseas for 60 days? It really does seem like the unlocking is very random and down to whoever you get on the customer support line. I've had no luck and have a 500 dollar paper weight !
me and my brother both bought our AT&T HTC one's in contract.
we both used a third party online unlocker to unlock both our phones.
Costs us each 10$ and within minutes our phones were unlocked.
it's stupid of them to antagonize their clients like that.
just drives people aways.
