Hi Guys,
Anyone here living in a COLD country and using the Xperia Z2 outdoors ?
Currently it's summer here and we have 25-35°C Outdoor temperature here.
But when i put my Smartphone in the fridge (for Benchmark purposes, obviously) i relaised that the Smartphone likes to crash around 10-15°C Core Temperature!
I'm saying this because my old Xperia Z managed these temperatures without problems. Now you wonder, why do i care? Well, i go skiing in the winter, and there is an outdoor temperatuer of -20 to -5°C ! Sure the phone is in the pocket, which makes it a lot warmer, but still its cold!
So anyone in cold cilmatics can confirm this problem, or does it only happen in the fridge ?
Greets,
Haldi

hey guys,
i am planning to go skiing in Europe in January of next year, and will need to have my phone on my person at all times. The weather will be pretty cold down there so i was wondering if the galaxy s2 will be effected in any way by the cold temps.
thanks
Operating manual here says operating temps are -20°C to 50°C so don't expose the phone to temps under -20°C for any length of time i.e keep it close to your body when you're not using it if you're out in about in temperatures colder than that.

My mate took his to the snow, dont think it got down to -20 but certainly around -5 and his was fine
Your biggest problem will be temp variation leading to possible condensation and water damage .
Indoor 60 outdoor -10

I got out in -10 in Bulgaria-Sofia to find my way(vacations) and it worked fine.
My hands though didn't. I could barely feel my fingers. lol

Just take care and keep you're phone in the inner pocket of your jacket. I had mine with me every day while I was snowboarding and it worked fine and still does. I took pictures and made videos without issues. The temperatures were -10°C and it won't get much colder here for now I think. I guess what might happen is that the touch screen will be not as responsive as usual due to cold fingers. Just don't drop it in the snow

If you are really concerned then you could but some sort of thermal case for it.
My low was -27, my high 44. Flawless. But jj's condensation/sudden temperature change post seems wise.
Nothing likes a sudden freeze/warmup, be it human or mechanical.
Biggest issue will be decreased battery life when they get cold. Keep an extra battery of two on you. Also recommend a hard camera case ..which I use while skiing with a cord going to the speakers in my helmet. This way if you fall you Wont trash you phone.

Hi, does anyone happen to have this phone model and facing issues?
The battery life is non-existent for me (dies in hours) and the phone heats up incredibly quickly. I did head down to Docomo to check if there is an issue but the technicians said that the battery is perfectly fine and the phone heats up cos its waterproof and hence doesn't have good ventilation.
Anyone has any luck with fixing these issues?
battery drain
Hi!
Yes i had the same problem my battery went down from 100% to 5-6 % in the matter of about 3-4 hours.I did find the problem (at least in my case) the native "mail" app draws all the power out constantly looking for new mail.I stopped the program (couldn't delet because i'm not rooted yet) and all the problems are gone. Now i go from 100% at 8 in the morning to about 25% at 8 at night with moderate use.Try it i hope it will help!
I have similar battery problem on my phone F-02E and I believe it is the tegra 3 processor. Itt gets so hot and heat drains the battery. When mine heats up to 46 degree, it restarts; I really hate this behaviour.
The phone would have been amazing otherwise.
Anyhow, I will never buy a Tegra phone again, at least not in the forseeable future.
I'm thinking of buying a F-02E just for gaming when I'm on the road, as I want something smaller than a tablet that has a tegra 3 processor (I have THD games purchased from my old tab). Can anyone comment on gaming performance?

Don't make the mistake. Why do you think the price is so low even with the specs. The main problem is that the heat distribution was not well made so the phone gets very hot very quickly and when it is around 38 degrees, you cxan feel it throttling and by the time the temperature gets to 43, it starts restarting.
Afterthought; the scernario I described is when one is connected to 3g internet. If internet is turned off, I think one can play game for a while before it gets hot. However, I will not recommend the phone. Try instead Sharp SH-06E. It is not so expensive anymore.

Hello, we have mutual problems about docomo f10d , actually im finding Online shop to buy new battery for my F10d Phone, cuz my battery drained and started to bubbles can you recommend me some stores that available In asian countries? i can't go to japan by myself even when im with somebody , i just need a battery PLS REPLY
I am planning to use a tablet (probably Nexus 7) as a car head unit. I've searched the web and all kinds of forums and I'm aware of what has to be done in order to use tablet as HU.
My concern actually is the temperature. I live in the area, where we usually get -15 - -20 degrees Celsius in winter, up to -30 in rare extreme occasions. In summer, it's usually between 20-30 Celsius. I'm not so worried about summer, we don't get very hot weather here, but it's the winter I'm worried about. How does the tablet hold up in these conditions? Also if I'll take the tablet out of the car and get it inside is there a possibility for condensation or vice versa? From room temperature into a cold car.
What do you guys think? I'd really like to use tablet as a headunit, but I also don't want to kill my tablet.
Does this device suffer from Over Heating just like Z3+ phones?

I've not had any problems with overheating. But I don't play demanding games on my tablet.
I'm using Skype regularly and the tablet is becoming very hot in that case (together with huge battery drain during calls).
But more worse...it seems that when it is becoming too hot, the audio hardware is stopping work. The other one is not hearing anything until the headphone is replugged. Then it works for a while until it stops again. It seems to happen more often when the backside is a bit covered (tablet lying flat on surface for example... Higher temperature? )
My Tablet Z was running longer on Skype call than the Z4.

The device become hotter in a back area that is never reached with the hands during normal use. I don`t think there`s something to worry about. It`s still not as hot as my z3.
Tested only the WiFi version.
Here is no over heating
And Very Hot?
My Device have with Games 45 Grad Celsius on Back Top Side. Botton Back Side less. This is for me not Hot. It is warm.
You will feel a to Warm Tablet, take a Dell Venue 11 Pro.
No overheating here. Used my tablet continuously for pretty much the entirety of my last trans-Pacific flight (watching movies, playing games, reading), and at the peak of my movie-watching, it got a little warm to the touch on the back.
overheating here and with an hard backcover it causes a reboot!
Linke during titanium backupping and multitasking at the same time...
@all
Overheating / heat issues can be fixed / limited by rooting and flashing an custom kernel with init.d support for some overall kernel tuning & tweaking..
After 5 days of use i notice that the phone quckly warms up, then cools off after awhile gets warm... Not too hot though. I live in Africa which is naturally hot. Is it bcos i rooted the phone? Anyone noticed this?
Its just an observation, not a complaint though bcos i am quite pleased with the phone.
