How about searching ? This is the eleventeenth thread you've made over the past few days where you could easily have searched & found an answer to your question.
Lazy much ?
Edit - Everyone else - stop spoonfeeding this guy, he's never going to learn anything if he gets answers to every single question he asks.

[Q] XDA "Search" Dropdown Button....Gone/removed?

I am currently logged in to XDA and have tried all of the different forum view options but I still don't see the "search" button anymore? Where did it go? Tried on multiple broswers too. Does anyone know how long ago it was removed? How do we search the forums now? I checked the Advanced search button on the top and got "Search is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience." Not sure if that applys to all search functions.
just noticed it missing myself
Ya, i've talked to a few people and I guess its down.
Yup. Only the universal search is working. Thread search is not there.
No great loss . . .

Um.... actually I think its a huge loss. Hopefully they get that back up and running again.
I came to the Q&A thread to ask this very thing.
Yeah, it is hugely important. How can people get flamed for not doing a search before asking a dumb question?

It was completely useless. Most successful searches are from Google.

Ditto, came here wondering why I couldn't find it. There's several huge treads I follow & I frequently find myself searching for some key piece of info I read previously (not to mention flaming the morons who are too lazy to read & think the rest of us are here to serve them).

Now that's an Irony!!!! Having to use Search, to find out the thread Search tool is gone!!
Google is Great, but very rarely do you find a specific XDA ROM answer on the first few looks or searches.
XDA thread search is a must have, to anyone who follows large threads and cant be glued to watching the computer all day long. It beats reading a 100 pages of posts where people keep asking the same questions, over and over again, instead of easily searching the thread, only to find their answer was 3 posts back!! You have permission to use my torch!! Keep Flaming!!
You can still use Google, like this.
Example search site:xda-developers.com/threadNumber
Works?

I use the google method as well...I guess it comes down to how folks train themselves when first using the site.

You are too vague. You also fail to see that people have lives outside of sitting on a forum. How about to leave this thread alone, you go back and do some work and research yourself. Then come back and post everything you have tried and where you are stuck. Coming here and demanding support and putting down people who did spend the time to figure the system is a slap in the face. Like I said. Come back when you have done a little bit more research on your end.

[Q] Work in a factory. Need to reduce background noise! Can't find solution ANYWHERE!

First I would like to say thank everyone from XDA. I'm new to posting, but I've been lurking them for a while. I have learned A LOT and can't believe I haven't posted earlier. If the answer to this is there then my apologies. I work in a factory and use my earbuds/mic to talk on the phone. I understand that some background noise will be heard but there is far too much. If it helps I have a HTC Desire CDMA running MIUI 2.3.7 and I can't even find the voice privacy option. I have searched and searched and either it's not exactly my problem or no one EVER answers this. I really thought this would be an easy answer but turns out its not :/ If anyone could PLEASE help me I would be sooooo appreciated. Thank anyone in advance!!
Maybe what I'm looking for could be a mic sensitivity modifier or something like that. Maybe a app that can do this? I just know with all the apps/mods there is for android, there HAS to be a solution for this. I have yet to find one.
i think i got it thanks anyways
sorry for posting so much as i created this thread long ago. can a moderator please delete this thread its useless. thanks

if your phone is rooted use triangle away. You can find it in one of the other subforums.
A good trick is read the rules.
"noob ok...lazy noob not ok"
XDA rule #1: Search before posting. It would be usefull if you follow this rule from now on.

1. "Hello ... Help please" is ...NOT.. a topic title. In future do not put generic crap. Titles are supposed to be descriptive of topic content so that people who are browsing know what topic is about at a glance.
2. Rule #1 of XDA is to use search before creating topics which you obviously couldn't be bothered to do since this is a FAQ and discussed allot. A simple search would have found you answer in seconds instead of adding to the spoon feed type clutter of XDA.

Indeed. Its getting worse and worse.
I'm actually quite amazed how bad it's gotten.
The AMOLED display on my i9100 failed a couple days ago, and at first I was quite sad.
Then I realized that meant I wouldn't have to read the incredible amount of rule breaking posts that are found in this forum these days... Though I'll probably still pass through from time to time.
Who knows, I may end up replacing the display on the i9100 and keeping it as a back-up.

If you were to search it would of popped up a link for ya. If you opened the themes and apps section of this forum, you would of seen "resizable pop up browser for jb 4.1.2"! It probably would of taken less time then creating this thread and waiting for a reply. Try it next time. But now you can click here!http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34348831

hey men thanks for the information, don't you think I was look probably in the wrong place.
I really appreciate the help that most of the people provide here in XDA, but sometimes people assume without knowing if really i look for the information or not.
yes I'm relative new to the forum and what comes to my mind when I need help its to ask questions.
sorry for the inconvenient of opening a new tread I will sure try to not do it again

You're not really inconveniencing anyone but yourself. You waited almost an hour for an answer. It took me less than 2 minutes to search and type a response. The majority of people on here are helpful, but there are some trolls. I've learned way more by searching and reading then asking. Google search has become my best friend! Some tricks I've learned is to type the model number followed by what I want to search for. An example is type "i717 popup browser" and xda developers was the 4th post. You can limit your search to xda by typing what your searching for followed by "site:xda-developers.com". Even better yet you can open xda, navigate to your device and under themes and apps (since popbrowser is an app) type popup browser in the "search this forum" box. It would of been the first post found! This site is a WEALTH of information! Don't hesitate to post questions like you just did. But save yourself some time by perfecting search techniques!!
Thanks bro
