Another china clone of S5 GT-i9600 by ALPS - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Hi all experts,
a friend of mine bought a Samsung S5 clone which resulted to be an ALPS GT-I9600.
These are the specs as reported by CPU-Z:
Display: JDQ39.I9600ZSUAMDF
hardware: mt6572;
kernel version: 3.4.5 (eng . linux . 1398851142);
Screen resolution in pixel: 480 x 854
Total RAM: 1857 MB
Internal Storage: 0.14 GB (sic!)
Available RAM: 47 MB (2%)
Now, the problems... please guide me on how to solve them thanks a lot:
1) There are some problems with the internet connection (3G) with some operators... I guess this is a common problem and I read something about IMEI overwrite, but did not understand a lot... can anyone explain me a bit the procedure? Why is it necessary?
2) The device has really few available memory, therefore it is not possible to install anything due to shortage of memory... it seems also that the "Move to SD" option for all the apps installed is disabled by default. How can we free some space?
I'd love to find an alternative ROM without bloatware and maybe root.... but any alternative is welcome anyway. Can I install any ROM intended for phones which have identical specs? Where should I search for these?

+PLEASE PLEASE dont do anything funny with that phone i am an o in this.It has costed me two phones firstly it took me 6 hours just to root that phonei used vroot 1.7.8 the only way to get it is to let your older version update itself (i did not find any standalone of this)If you end there and reboot it it unroots itself (shuame failed to root this phone)....Then you need to install supersu.apk to fully root your phone now it can be detected by mtk droid tools as root shell
I used different versions of mtk droid tools and i got totally different results (weird) in earlier version of mtk droid tools i only got around 320mb of backup (everything included system.img,boot,recovery,secro..etc).This one could only make files for flashool excluding system.img.
On mtk droid tools 2.5.3 i got a bigger recovery around 1.2gig of raw data that included system.ubifs.img (291mb) nodl_system.bin (302mb) and system.ubifs.tar (302mb) and all the other stuff.......This one gives me an md5 error when trying to create files for flashtool
everything is messed up
This phone has close to no free rom only around 500kb .Also the actual ram is not 2gig its 224mb and the processor is actual dual core which had a maximum of 1ghz on the second core but the first one is1.6ghz
it got caught up in a bootloop when i tried to move all the system files to an sdcard using mounts2sd(such a great program) but the problem arised when my sd cardsecond partition got erased by mistake
My advice please dont mess with this phone

I am sorry for you guys, but next time I suggest you to hold the hype and get some information before buying a unknown generic clone (as you can see all the troubles you are having...).
Long story short sell that piece of crap and buy a HDC Galaxy S5 Legend if you can.

The phone is no good to install apps, games,
If seller given real spec of this phone and yet if you have made purchase then its your choice,
If seller misled you by saying 2GB RAM/16GB rom etc then If you buy this paying high price and hoping to get nice performing clone of s5, then forget it, ask for refund.
This is just dual core, slow phone.
can be used just to read small e-book and browse net and some time the page also hangs.
Voice call seem to be working Ok but not used much.

Hi,
The same advice of the other guys, don't try to flash it or you will brick it like it happen for me. I do the same trying to increase the internal storage but i finish by bricking the system partition.

My clone samsung is the same.
Is there anybody to send me the factory rom?
The version of the rom is not important; I just want to unbrick my phone.
Would be happy to send the ROM and factory image to you but, I don't have a recovery program on gt-i9600 and don't know where to get one. To the person who wants to root your gt-i9600 you can try installing KingRoot.apk and if that doesn't work message me.

There doesn't seem to be an ICS ROM available at the moment in the unsual places. If you can't find anything here there would be a chance on the russian forums (sadly through translator). Also it seems the "Micromax A52" is a clone so perhaps you can get lucky there. Cheers.

Hi to everyone ! i have samsung s4 gt-I9500 clone with MT6572 CPU ,its made by Korea and it is factory rooted . after testing the phone for couple of days i can say it is very fast ,but i can't find out the exact Specifications of the Ram and internal memory ,in the phone shows it has 2GB ram and the internal 16 GB i tested with many Apps but each application show different result i will add some screenshots and please give your view about it and if any body has the same phone can share with us his ones. The other question is, i want to change the ROM and add some MODs if possible?? and are there any custom ROMs i can flash? and which flashing tools i can use? and how to install CWM on it?? so modder ,developer please help!!!! thank you

Click to collapse Ok, not to worry. Unfortunately I can't give you the link to the website. The original advert said that it had an 8MP camera, however it only has 4.9MP! I challenged the seller on this, and it looks as though they have stopped advertising the phone. I bought it through Amazon and the seller was 'Active Tek' based in China. I would avoid using this seller as they clearly missold the phone to me.

Hi, I have got exactly the same device as you have. I got the parcel yesterday; it had an app pre-installed called antutu, that antutu thingy says that the device has got arm v7 CPU named universal 5410, clocked at 1.7 gigs. Ram of about 2 gigs and internal storage of 16 GB. However today I installed an app named CPU identifier that showed that its CPU was mt6572, mali400 GPU and to a heartbreaking surprise, only 512 mb of ram. Please tell me that this CPU identifier is crap and I have got a whole 2 gigs of ram. One more thing is that device is stunningly fast and efficient in handling big apps. I also found some flaws; smart pause and smart scroll (eye sensor) only worked once or twice; GPS never worked; hand flip only works on one side. May be these issues can be resolved by installing a custom ROM.

How to unbrick an MT6582 unknown manufacturer missing stock rom?
Hello , I am sorry if posting here is wrong but I have got to craziness state searching how to unbrick my tablet. I bought a tablet from china and wanted to look at how to remove the menu from it. During this process I ended up bricking the thing. It doesn't turn on . When connected to computer it does the usb sound on and off. What i know from the system is mt6582 Andoid 8.0 128GB ram Build number - ALPS.KK1.MP1.V2.36 model nr - YT886-12 Kernel 3.4.67 I know this because I bought two of them but when I opened them both , the motherboard is slightly different . The phone/tablet is recognized as N90 which I have no idea what it is. Please help in any way possible cause I am about to break this thing apart. I have lost 4 days and nights looking for an answer. Thank you in advance.

Looks like I am trying to fix the same device. I brought mine from China also because of the spec didn't know the firmware was a custom install and doesn't even show android system webview even though Google play store says its installed but it not compatible. I just need a ROM that will work with my device and whatever else I need to put it one my tablet. Normally I can figure this out but I have epilepsy now and it to hard for me to focus.
