What are you asking me? I understand lol
How do I get into RECOVERY
How to install it?
This is what I ask
Or do not need to install
To enter it via ADB? Like here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732311

You can enter recovery by typing reboot recovery in a terminal app on your phone if you got root. It is a stock recovery so it would not give you so much options as clockwork recovery.

This looks like a rush job to me, almost with microsoft and their os release dates. hopefully there will be an "update" to fix that. I know someone mentioned you can't do much in recovery.

Looks like everyone may have the same issue, only thing we can do is wait and see who can make a recovery for us. I hope there's minor differences.
Update: my device shows the same, so this proves that LG rushed the release of the device.

First of all: Pardon me for my bad english.
My phone is Hungarian T-mobile locked. It did the same. But after root, I was able to go to Stock 3E recovery.
To get cwm and/or twrp, we need to open the bootloader. In "normal" way with adb, I can't open it. Even with G2-s update.zip.
If any dev can find a way to open the bootloader, then it's much easier to make a custom rom and the cwm.

You can use this method to work around the SD not being loaded in recovery (install partition wizard home edition.exe and ext2fsd.exe)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732311
DO NOT format the card when you start the phone, it will not be recognised by the system, but it is recognised in the recovery mode using terminal emulator.
I tried it, it works

Actually no, you do not need to unlock the bootloader, my sola has numerous roms on it, with a locked bootloader.
My motorola had a recovery also with a locked bootloader.
The only time unlocking the bootloader helps is,
A: CPU / GPU tweaks
B: (this should be A) Cyanogen roms
C: other start up tweaks that doesn't require you to run scripts on startup.
So it is (not) really needed to have an unlocked bootloader.

You're right,but I sad "easier"..
With unlocked bl,we can get cm and other roms..
For cwm(or temp cwm,twrp.. ) not needed,but it's better I think..

Doesn't work for me..
When I install Cwm.zip and press home +touch screen it rebooted back in Android.. I tried doing the same with volume up, but it then reboots into the original kernel..
it's work for me...
So, during the installation of cwm.zip, I repeatedly press home and touch the screen. Then it moves to cwm 5. After that, I install the cwm 6 (update.zip).
Thank you shaaan.
Okay it works now..
You have to repeadly press home and touchscreen..
Thanks shaan . I used your CWM to flash the Kirillos13 Riple effect and to do a backup and works ok.
Some time is dificult to start the cwm 5 recovery , I do it presing all the buttons including the home button and the down part of the screen at the same time and normally cwm 5 starts.

I think you need to change the line in updater script that has /dev/block/mmcblkXpYY/system

The procedure is a little bit problematic, to be honest.
Stock recovery is having a bit of an issue when it comes to mounting internal SD (eMMC).
...Then there's CWM 5, that has issues mounting either. I had to throw in an SD card, then mount eMMC - which in fact did not mount eMMC but external SD.
why is it after i flash this.. i followed all your instructions even the tapping the screen.. and when i successfully installed it then reboot and try to go to cwm recovery why is it it comes again in stock recover and not cwm recovery? i try do install it again and it always turn back to stock recovery? have anyone expiernced this?

Ikr! The problem is a messed graphics file. So the issue is framebuffer related. Make a new recovery. Use the updated graphics.c and it will work directly.!

It can be flashed now also, I tried that, but dont have all the files and resources can anyone help me out please :crying:
The following things can still be done:
1:I can load my phone into clockwork recovery

The following are the major problem
1:while in cwm, I am unable to access sdcard
2:the phone is on restart loop

2 choices for you.
-Download a .ftf http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439438 and flash it with Flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319 .

You can root without it. I guess you unlocked your bootloader if not you couldn't have installed the recovery. So for access recovery you have to:
-Turn off your phone
-Power on your phone and when you see the purple led press volume up
-Then your phone will boot on CMW.
And then you can flash the root zip.
But for root you can also use vroot amd it doesn't require to unlock bootloader or install any recovery. But as you already did all of it you can simply flash the .zip.

The problem is there is no purple led blinking although I restarted my phone twice and to double check I went in service menu and it was written

So now you can restart the phone. You flashed a .ftf? if so you loosed the recovery as in Sony recovery is on the kernel. You need to flash it back with adb. Which firmware did you flash?

Will give this a try as soon as mine arrives.. my PC is getting too old and cluttered it'll be nice to do this device from my MAC. Thanks
Will this prevent me from getting the OTA updates? I could install them manually that doesn't bother me , but I had a bad experience when I rooted my nexus 4, when I tried to apply the update manually it didnt go through, it always gave a " operation aborted" message , why was that? Would it be the same if I root my nexus 5?
Will rooting erase my data? I know unlocking the bootloader does, but I'm not sure if rooting does

[Q] RE: Recovery Problem

Hi all.. Quick question.
I've just started the process of trying to root my One Max (international) and everything has gone smoothly with unlocking the bootloader etc, and i've flashed a CWM image to it as my recovery, but once i've rebooted, volume down and select recovery, hit power, it says entering recovery but then screen goes off, waits about 20-30 seconds and boots up as normal.. Is the CWM image file wrong? And if so, can i just redo the process of flashing the rom again the same way, or do i need to uninstall this image before i can? Does any new image not just overwrite?
I'm just a little frustrated at this point because it's now unlocked and tampered yet i have no root access.

I'm just a little frustrated at this point because it's now unlocked and tampered yet i have no root access.

Go with twrp it roots the device after first time going through the recovery. I've heard of issued with cwm.

The reason i picked CWM over TWRP was because i'm familiar with it and like the UI.. TWRP just seems too basic looking. But my initial question still remains. Can i simply re-run the process over the top with TWRP or do i need to remove CWM before i can write TWRP to the device?

Ok well i'll give TWRP a go. But do i need a specific .img file? Because when i go onto the TWRP site to get the version i need, it only lists Sprint and Verizon for the One Max. I'm on International so surely need a GSM or Non-US variant surely? Or can i just use the M7 GSM version?
Thanks.

Ok, now i've just redone this procedure exactly the same but with TWRP instead of CWM and it's doing exactly the same thing.. Why does it just go blank after saying "entering recovery" then boot as normal after about 20 secs? I really want root access but can't see how i'm going to get it if my phone won't boot into recovery.

Ok.. I finally figured what was wrong.. The .img was too new a version and clearly my phone didn't like it.. So i used an older version and it's done the whole process perfectly. So to anyone else having the same problem, try an older version.
Ok, hang on.. It seems i might not be rooted.. I've installed TWRP, done my Nandroid backup installed Superuser and a few root checkers and one of them said i was rooted, while the others couldn't gain access, same with Superuser and SuperSU, they both say they can't access binaries etc.. Now i assumed once the phone said tampered, unlocked and had TWRP installed that it was rooted.. Is this the case? I have attached some thumbnails of various screengrabs so someone can tell me if i am or if something has gone wrong.. When i did it on my DHD it was never this hard to root..

install app "Terminal Emulator" from ch play. open it and type "su" for root permission, then type "sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh", wait...
Reboot your phone, and finaly your phone get root with supersu.

It's Work my E5333 rooted.
I was able to root my E5506 (Wind Mobile) with or without USB debugging on. I tried both ways and it works using the latest Kingroot 4.8 app. It might reboot in the middle of rooting but just continue after the phone reboots. if it fails just try to root it again and it should work after a few tries.
I managed to install Titanium Backup Pro, Busy Box without any issues.
Note: If your Titanium Backup won't allow you to backup in your sd card, just download the app in the play store called SDfix. This app should fix your sd issues in TB. [emoji4]
If you flash a firmware using flashtool you will lose root so you'll have to re-root.
Nice, I'll try to change the root manager to SuperSU. Thanks for the info!
let me know if you manage to make it work. I tried to switch to super su but I keep getting error on su binary when it tries to update
OK Root C4
In my C4 I run until the fifth attempt. Xperia c4 5306
Fine...
After rooting can i use flashify to flash custon recovery? There's a custom recovery for C5 ultra by Bigrammy.
if your bootloader is unlocked you probably can install a custom recovery. my phone's bootloader is still locked just was able to get root access.

Doesn't biggrammy's custom recovery method address' this fact? It may show as "secure = yes" but recovery can still be flashed.
Quote:
following info from Sony my phone stated “NO” and as you can see the bootloader info said secure = yes but been a I went ahead anyway and here is the weird and lucky for us thing.
After I unlocked it I got (bootloader) secure = NO from fastboot but the System software still reported Bootloader unlock allowed = No
Nothing tripped no warranty warnings nothing it’s like the system never even knew sweet.

Success changing KingRoot to SuperSU!
Just follow the rules precisely as are mentioned in the following post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/replace-kingroot-superuser-guide-t3251013
Oh yeah! Confirmed Kingroot to SuperSU is a success here too! Thank you pablo_xperia for sharing that link [emoji4]
I don't know why it didn't work for me the first time I rooted my phone but this time definitely worked like a charm.

Yes I understand that bigrammy did mention in his thread that some may show "secure=yes" but recovery can still be flashed. I am just worried about mine being a carrier bought phone not being able to flash the fotakernel. I don't want to screw up my phone just yet. Right now i'm fine with being rooted and have superSU installed.

Yup, i know mine is carrier locked because its from Wind Mobile (Canada). I know I can't unlock my bootloader due to this which is unfortunate

i dont know why. i done without any error
You have to install supersu and terminal. Put wrm dir into phone storage
Follow the commands,
Su
/Sdcard/wrm/root.sh
When it completes, go launch supersu and update binary.
Then reboot
