All of sudden today, the voice calling service on my phone stopped working.
It gives the BSOD whenever I try to make a phone call...
I was on CM11, then I tried to revert back to stock, but still the same.
Strange thing is that the SMS and mobile data is still working fine.
The phone connects to the network service fine. (I'm on Straight Talk.)
Just can't make or receive any phone call...
I found out that the phone's IMEI shows "0" so thought the issue I had must have something to do with the null IMEI.
I knew that I had EFS backup (it's about a month old), so I tried to manually restore them (all 3), but the result is the same..
Now, I don't know what to do.. Can anyone help me out?

Today i've recived my fixed vibrant from samsung, download and recovery mode working. I've rooted, unlocked (by the tutorial with Reparation_nv_data.jar) and installed bionix final version. THEN I started to use the phone, internet works fine (i have 3G and i can download things and everything). But when i try to call or send a message it is not registered to network. Say that the SIM don't allow it. My imei has changed (or already come with this from service i don't know) to 004999010640000. There is some way to fix this?
did you do a backup of your original efs folder?
yes, i've just restore it. Now i get registered to the network but when i call it just keeps calling (don't do any sound) and if i try to end call it freeze
Hi guys,
This is my first thread and I've just recently began rooting and flashing roms etc.
I'm sorry if this is a duplicate thread but I searched the forum and found nothing. Here's the thing:
I have a Samsung GT-i9300 ( international version ) and after the first flash I lost my efs folder.
Which did not only mess up my IMEI. It messed up bluetooth, connectivity, wifi adress and the phone lost it's identity.
I took it to a " technician " who said he could fix it. He restored my imei, but the network wouldn't work. So he put another IMEI and voilá!
The phone had connectivity and worked perfectly. So he told me that my phone's imei was reported as stolen because the network wouldn't let it connect. ( and I have had this phone since it first came out of the box and I never reported such a thing. )
He then said the police would have to be involved to verify if i'm the owner so I just told him to put a new imei on.
When I picked up the phone it was working fine. Full connectivity. Then I flashed a rom and lost my efs folder again.
Luckily I had a backup of the imei, wifi, serial and bluetooth adresses. Which were sucessfully restored.
But still, no connectivity. So I googled it and finally found a solution! The problem is with the Baseband.Basically the phone lost it's baseband files, without which the phone cannot connect to the network, and when the " technician " restored my imei, he copied the whole EFS file from the dead phone. Which then replaced the missing files and the phone worked. So my IMEI wasn't blocked, my EFS file was corrupted and the baseband files were missing.
I used the Ariza patch. And voilá, the connectivity is back. But after being turned on for about an hour, the phone has a pop up which says it's not registered in the network and it must restart with a valid sim. And it's a no option pop up, you are indeed forced to restart your cell phone which is annoying because it shuts off at night and operations that take more than an hour are impossible.
But still, after 2 days, the ariza patch stopped working. The phone is in Emergency Calls only now and it doesn't detect the sim. But it's not blocked, it connects to the network.I read that you could flash the modem files to fix this aswell. So I downloaded the modem file for my phone, from my carrier ( VODAFONE PORTUGAL ), from one of the threads here. It didn't work.
Now, this is the question:
Is it possible that it didn't work because my new EFS file is from a phone based in the UK and my phone is from Portugal?
Can it be a sim software problem?
Also, is there any solution found other than the obvious which I've already exhausted ( flash stock rom, wipe cache, etc )
Thank you an Advance guys!
Hi.
i recently got an alpha 850fq from someone and it just stopped working after a day. Everything is okay except it shows NULL IMEI AND BASEBAND so i am not getting network signals. Please tell me how to fix it if its hardware or software problem.
(It was just lying there and the problem happened on its on.....it did once get its imei back for 2,3 minutes and lost again when i restarted) i have not done any modification/rooting on this device.
UPDATE ON THE ISSUE, the Baseband and imei come back randomly and keep working unless i change Mobile network to "LTE/GSM" auto connect and enable 4g or 3g data....it seems the baseband gets corrupted only when i enable 3g or 4g....i have the EFS backup and restoring it when the imei baseband are null does not do anything. For some reason they come back on their on randomly.
I have a Jiayu S2 double-SIM phone, running the most up to date official ROM (4.4.2).
This ROM had a couple of bugs (no GPS and no notifications to external devices such as smartwatches), so I wanted to check other available ROMs. Using the Flash Tool I have tried a couple of the ROMs in the needrom site (https://www.needrom.com/category/jiayu/s2-jiayu/). In particular, a couple of versions of the official ROM, another ROM known as Salamander, and an unofficial port of Cyanogenmod 12 (in which the camera was not working).
The issue is that, for some reason, at some point my phone has stopped getting phone signal. The SIMs ask for the PIN on startup, but there is no signal. I have reverted to the original ROM; plus done a factory reset, and I could still not get signal.
The APNs for both SIMs are fine. Then I have realised that the IMEI was empty. Luckily I had it written down, so I have installed Xposed and the Device IMEI Changer, with which I have been able to restore the IMEI. Now I can see the IMEI on the Settings - IMEI information, as well as with *#06#.
But still, now with the original ROM, and with the IMEI restored, I still cannot get phone signal. I have tried setting the phone to flight mode, restarting, selecting manually the network... When trying to manually select the network I can see several networks, but the phone will simply not connect to the one it should.
Any idea on why could it be that I cannot get phone signal? Thanks.
After trying everything, including restoring the IMEI with Xposed, I have finally managed to restore cell service by restoring the IMEI with this tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cryptotel.chamelephon
Hey guys new problem
After flashing the stock Kitkat ROM I realised that the OTA updater doesn't work, so I googled around some more and found the latest (I think) Lollipop ROM (A7-30HC_S127_151125_ROW) and flashed that with the SP flash tool. Everything works fine except for 1 major issue.
The SIM doesn't work and I can't make or receive calls and messages. The SIM is fine, I tested it on another device and I can make and receive calls without any issues. But on the tab it detects the SIM, data works, but calls and messages do not. On the status bar it shows 3G and the little reception bars. When I check the SIM status in settings it shows the network, but the Signal strength is 0, Service state is Out of service but the Cellular network state is Connected.
Is this a problem with the ROM? Do Lollipop ROMs for this tab have any issues like this? Should I downgrade back to Kitkat or try an older Lollipop ROM (like this one A7-30HC_S126_150824_ROW)
Help would be much appreciated
Edit: I just realised that it's saying Invalid IMEI on the lock screen, and when I type *#06# on the dialer it says Invalid
Have I lost the IMEI now?? Is this going to be a permanent problem?
Okay guys I fixed it with the help of a little googling again! XD
Followed the instructions given by the first result when I searched for invalid IMEI
Thankfully the tab had a sticker with the IMEI pasted on the back, so it was easy enough to type the commands with it.
Restarted and now everything is back to normal
