I have a Jiayu S2 double-SIM phone, running the most up to date official ROM (4.4.2).
This ROM had a couple of bugs (no GPS and no notifications to external devices such as smartwatches), so I wanted to check other available ROMs. Using the Flash Tool I have tried a couple of the ROMs in the needrom site (https://www.needrom.com/category/jiayu/s2-jiayu/). In particular, a couple of versions of the official ROM, another ROM known as Salamander, and an unofficial port of Cyanogenmod 12 (in which the camera was not working).
The issue is that, for some reason, at some point my phone has stopped getting phone signal. The SIMs ask for the PIN on startup, but there is no signal. I have reverted to the original ROM; plus done a factory reset, and I could still not get signal.
The APNs for both SIMs are fine. Then I have realised that the IMEI was empty. Luckily I had it written down, so I have installed Xposed and the Device IMEI Changer, with which I have been able to restore the IMEI. Now I can see the IMEI on the Settings - IMEI information, as well as with *#06#.
But still, now with the original ROM, and with the IMEI restored, I still cannot get phone signal. I have tried setting the phone to flight mode, restarting, selecting manually the network... When trying to manually select the network I can see several networks, but the phone will simply not connect to the one it should.
Any idea on why could it be that I cannot get phone signal? Thanks.
After trying everything, including restoring the IMEI with Xposed, I have finally managed to restore cell service by restoring the IMEI with this tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cryptotel.chamelephon

I flashed a custom yesterday and phone started up good and everything worked except I cant connect to my network provider. I tried resetting the network settings and everything, I restored back to my stock rom and still cant connect to my network, IMIE number is there and everything. Dont know if I screwed the SIM card up when i flashed the rom or not but its getting frustrating....anyone with help would be awesome...thanks
Did you try to start "from scratch" with ODIN ? This is the only to make sure the issue is hardware/firmware related.
If yes, then maybe you are a victim of the bug described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852255
Also any info on the ROMs before/after would help.
Hi guys,
This is my first thread and I've just recently began rooting and flashing roms etc.
I'm sorry if this is a duplicate thread but I searched the forum and found nothing. Here's the thing:
I have a Samsung GT-i9300 ( international version ) and after the first flash I lost my efs folder.
Which did not only mess up my IMEI. It messed up bluetooth, connectivity, wifi adress and the phone lost it's identity.
I took it to a " technician " who said he could fix it. He restored my imei, but the network wouldn't work. So he put another IMEI and voilá!
The phone had connectivity and worked perfectly. So he told me that my phone's imei was reported as stolen because the network wouldn't let it connect. ( and I have had this phone since it first came out of the box and I never reported such a thing. )
He then said the police would have to be involved to verify if i'm the owner so I just told him to put a new imei on.
When I picked up the phone it was working fine. Full connectivity. Then I flashed a rom and lost my efs folder again.
Luckily I had a backup of the imei, wifi, serial and bluetooth adresses. Which were sucessfully restored.
But still, no connectivity. So I googled it and finally found a solution! The problem is with the Baseband.Basically the phone lost it's baseband files, without which the phone cannot connect to the network, and when the " technician " restored my imei, he copied the whole EFS file from the dead phone. Which then replaced the missing files and the phone worked. So my IMEI wasn't blocked, my EFS file was corrupted and the baseband files were missing.
I used the Ariza patch. And voilá, the connectivity is back. But after being turned on for about an hour, the phone has a pop up which says it's not registered in the network and it must restart with a valid sim. And it's a no option pop up, you are indeed forced to restart your cell phone which is annoying because it shuts off at night and operations that take more than an hour are impossible.
But still, after 2 days, the ariza patch stopped working. The phone is in Emergency Calls only now and it doesn't detect the sim. But it's not blocked, it connects to the network.I read that you could flash the modem files to fix this aswell. So I downloaded the modem file for my phone, from my carrier ( VODAFONE PORTUGAL ), from one of the threads here. It didn't work.
Now, this is the question:
Is it possible that it didn't work because my new EFS file is from a phone based in the UK and my phone is from Portugal?
Can it be a sim software problem?
Also, is there any solution found other than the obvious which I've already exhausted ( flash stock rom, wipe cache, etc )
Thank you an Advance guys!
Before I start with the issue, let me begin with some basic information: This is in regards to my Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900T (T-mobile), running Lollipop 5.1.1, FOG6 build, DOB1 baseband, rooted, deodexed, but otherwise stock.
My problem: Today I flashed a rom via Mobile Odin Pro and soft-bricked my device. After a lot of hair pulling and screaming at my phone and computer, I finally got my phone up and running again. After trying many different solutions, I eventually tried re-flashing TWRP through Odin (recovery initially would not boot, hence the soft-brick), which succeeded, and then recovered my phone by restoring from a previous backup.
This got my phone up and running again, but once it boot, I had no service. I first checked my APN settings, but was presented with a message stating, "Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted for the current user profile." I tried adding a new APN, but once I added it, it did not appear in the APN list, which continued to only display the above message. I then tried to "Search now" for Network Operators, but nothing was found. So next I checked my IMEI through "About Device", and discovered it was set to "Unknown". Checking the IMEI through the dialer (*#06#) lists the IMEI as "null / null".
I have searched high and low and tried everything I could find to fix this. I tried restoring my TWRP EFS backup to no effect. I also tried flashing the modem through Odin, as well as restoring my TWRP modem backup. I tried using an Xposed app to manually set the IMEI back to its original value (I happen to have my phone's original IMEI number written down from when I SIM unlocked my device), but while this updated the IMEI displayed in the dialer (through *#06#), it did not change the value in "About Device" and did not restore my service.
The last solution I tried (found here: http://www.technobezz.com/restore-galaxy-null-imei-and-fix-not-registered-on-network/) involves me using the dialer to enter Service Mode to make some changes; however, while dialing *#197328640# did open the Service Mode menu, the menu was totally blank.
Please help! Given the current state of my phone, I cannot make or receive calls or texts or do anything else requiring a mobile connection. I have looked everywhere and I don't know what else to try :crying: :crying:
Assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated, as until I am able to fix this, I don't have a functional phone
Any suggestions?
Hi Everyone,
I recently rooted and installed CM13 (20160606) nightly on my i9300. At first everything worked flawlessly, but last Thursday (16th June) I lost signal and have not been able to get it back since. In case the circumstances for when it happened could have an influence, then here is a bit more details from around the time I lost signal.
I was having signal and the mobile data was working fine, as I was running low on battery the phone was on battery saver, when the battery hit 2% it had signal and I didn't look at my phone after this. As I came home, I immediately plugged in my charger and at the same moment my phone shutdown due to no more juice on the battery. When I started up the phone again, it had no signal.
I've tried to clean flash the same nightly again, clean flash newest nightly (20160618). I've also tried to flash other modems without any luck. APN settings have been double and triple checked, deleted, setup and triple checked again. I've tried to downgrade my TWRP to 2.8.6.1 from (3.0.2-1) and flashed the nightly - No luck.
Here are my system details:
CM version: 13.0-20160618-NIGHTLY-i9300
Baseband version: I9300XXEMG4
IMEI: 35299...........
IMEI SV: 01
Sim Network: Unknown
Signal strength: 0
Cellular network type: UMTS
Service state: Data: Out of service
Cellular network state: Disconnected
I think this could be related to the incidence when I lost signal, after battery power out, as this was working fine up to then for 10 days.
Let me know if I need to provide any more information or if you have any ideas what I can try to restore my signal.
When I go to search for Network Operators it finds two, when I try to register to the one which is not mine it says my Sim card doesn't allow this. When I try to register to my actual carrier it takes a long time and it comes out saying "Can't connect to this network right now". My signal strength in the about section is "0". I'm not sure where the problem is, if I have 0 signal, how can I find two carriers?
I got back to Android 4.3 by sammobile ROM, after flashing patched XXUGMK6 kernel and modem, I now have a signal. But, I'm still unable to connect to my carrier. My IMEI and S/N match those under the battery. After searching my carrier shows up in the mobile network list, but it fails to register to the network, and goes to have No Service and says the selected network is unavailable.
Solved. I went through basically everything I could dig on the internet, not sure exactly what did the trick.

can i ask what did you do? :< im on cm13 also, did you flash new update of cm13? or clean install again?
So i recently decided to unlock my LG G5 H850 bootloader, installed TWRP, backed up everything I could, rooted my device. Thought why not update to Nougat so I wiped my phone and installed LineageOS. I didn't like it to much so I wiped again and installed Fulmics ROM. After flashing this ROM I noticed that my mobile data could not be used so I thought it was a simple bug wiped and flashed again. Switched back to LineageOS then stock still with no mobile data. I am currently on the Fulmics ROM realizing that I no longer have an IMEI number in my phone. In Settings>About Phone>Status my phone number, IMEI and IMEI SV all show as "Unknown." Typing in *#06# comes back as "null."
I have looked all over the place, tried different things such as going to 6.0.1 and installing some modules to change IMEI from xposed but they always crashed. I've looked at fourms from other websites, downloaded exe programs onto my pc. I cant figure out a way to get my IMEI back. This is my main phone, I cant switch the sim card to my Nexus 5 unless i have a sim card adapter so it fits.
Any help would be great since i never knew this was a possibility.

Try and restore your EFS partition from TWRP with the first backup you made.

In order for it to see the phone you need to enable the port check option in the hidden menu first it's under "SVC MENU", after doing this plug your phone into your pc and select File Transfer.
After doing this you will see in the device manager the new usb com port and you will be able to use EFS Professional with it.

I had this problem too (loosing IMEI) after flashing Nougat 7. For me helped flashing bootloader for Nougat 7. IMEI restored.

If phone on Marshmallow (MM, Android 6), ROM (from 10a till 10g version), bootloader must be from Marshmallow. If phone on Nougat (N, Android 7), ROM (from 20a till 20d version), bootloader must be from Nougat. If ROM from one system, bootloader from another, will be lost IMEI.
