Hey all XDA users.
I hope you can help me out!
I am starting to develop my own custyom roms. I am a noob on this, but day by day, I get more aquainted with the Android system.
I found a new challenge. I got myself a TizzBird F10 "Smart TV box". It is an Android media player with no space for a harddrive.
TizzBird Web Site
OTA Update ZIP file (unpack and rename to zip or gz
It has only 4 USB host slots, a SD card slot, 10/100 wired nic. I succesfully connected my Wireless N adapter from my popcorn hour.
The android system is 2.3.3 (for now) but it is upgradeable to 2.3.5 using OTA firmware.
My first goal is to try to get root access.
The thing does not have an USB slave connection, so i can't get ADB access. Is there any way to get root access another way? Maybe through ADB over TCP?
Or before I try to brick my device... is it possible to modify the OTA update? I downloaded the 2.3.5 OTA update from their website, and I can see the android structure within the ROM using winrar or 7zip.
Maybe it is possible to zergRush the system from within? Have SuperUser added to the OTA? Busybox etc.
Sure, I can just "copy" those APKs and tools into the .gz file, but would it help when I flash that modified file?
My ultimate goal is to get my google account working so I can get access to Google Music, since the device has not been licensed to use the Android market...
Thanks in advance or ideas you may have.
Update:
For now I have installed the following.
Android Market
GMail
Google Services Framework
Google Music
All works well, exept for acually playing the google music. It loads the albums, but hangs at pressing "play".
I use poweramp as my musicplayer,it's the best there is, on my F30,
Could I ask where you bought it ?
Did you just use an adapter converter for north american power plugs ?
I found this link to buy it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Valueplus-T...ultDomain_0&hash=item3a706e8b4b#ht_8980wt_905
But it is clearly written;
All of our products are customized for Korean electric environment.
In Korea, we use 220 Voltage and Type C plug.
Some products has a adapter and in that case, they support Free Voltage and Type C plug.
Please pay attention to this point.
I'm in Canada.
Thanks.
I'm interested in the OS of the TizzBird.
The one on the F30 and the new N1 stick.
It's a beautiful UI/UX which would go great on Tablets, especially when connected to a large TV.
If you can provide the Launcher and other Apps from it, would sweet.
Here's a demo:

And here's an introduction by my favourite Frenchmen Charbax:

Did you get root access?
May I ask you how to do it?
Or can you give me some links to get a better unterstanding of how to modify the original firmware to my own needs?
Here is some dude that made custom firmware for the F10 and F20 (=F30 without the hard disk)

hello devs
i wonder why we don't have USB Launch Manager (if i can name it like that) when plugin our usb to the computer to choose like sony ericsson , motorola and htc android phones ???
i mean : mass storage, charge only, pc internet ......etc
Can you our experts do that for us ? is it possible?
That reminds of my old samsung corby
But if u manually want to enable sdcard mount on pc then go in settings->apps->developer->usb debbuging
and then connect phone to usb, drag notification bar down, click on usb mass storage and then turn on
don't think it's a long way to do that every time you want to change btw kies and storage while other products do this with a single touch ???

Its not possible then
i'm not a programmer .. but isn't it a file which is responsible to do this process that we can manipulate it to work with SG s2 since all products run Android ?

Which HBOOT version are you on? I suppose ICS. Is that correct? If yes, follow instructions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40241468&postcount=214. Those worked for me. Make sure the hTC drivers are latest with MTP driver installed and you have full root using flar2's method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2136815.
One more thing, Step 5 in ckpv5's guide is very important. This will not work if you are running Multi Mount app from App Drawer. You have to add Multi Mount Widget on desktop and click that widget to mount your SD card.

Hes pointing out that this forum has rules, you have agreed to obey them, and you right now broke first of them (and its first, because it makes sense, not because its bull****), youre most likely here just to solve this problem and not participate any further, so you dont care if you and others like you flood forum with ten topics regarding EXACTLY same problem. So use that search button, its easy. Or read some general android changelogs before complaining about USB MASS STORAGE missing (why these 3 words in capitals, its not acronym, only USB is...)
+ at least try to type name of thread in english
Multi mount working for me on Jb on ICS-HBOOT
as I followed the steps for flashing the Rom and sd card workaround exactly how ckpv5 guided
multi mount app from market works.. i tried it and worked...when you install it you have to add a widget on the screen from this app and i think on one point you have to reboot..
just try it with patience dont install it and not try everything if you have no success just tell me i ll write a full guide here so everyone will be happy..

It's not working for me. Widget is telling to connect USB / touch to close but when connecting to PC Windows is connecting via MTP - but no change of Multi Mount widget. 'MTP fix' option is checked.
Your support (or the announced guide) would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
today i ll have my pc...till night.. so i ll write a step by step guide to get usb storage mounted
sorry for taking me too much to right this but i hope it will help you!

Simple Solution
Mobile network sharing --> USB --> Internet pass-through
JB Desire X now connected as USB mass storage on PC .
I was using myONEdx+ RC3.0 and DEODEXED Stock Rom -- Wi-Fi channels 12 and 13 could not be detected : (
This week I was confronted with the possibility to replace a photo from the gallery to an external Sd card, via OTG. Now it turns to be impossible. Checked somethings out via googling: no USB seen by android, found a video of Tech Jak: says: if file (above: "https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/native/+/master/data/etc/android.hardware.usb.accessory.xml")script is available on the internet) is missing you need to reïstall it. He does not tell how.
So, I am a dummy on this and have to ask the community here.
i have the factory unlocked 10t no mods. The OTG will detect a flash drive and ID it but refuses to read or write to it, even when given the permission to do so.
It shows up in settings/storage but the only thing i can do with it is to eject it. No file manager will access it to read or write. If i try to create a file or folder it gives a generic error. I t-shot with OP and sent them Logs and got nothing back from them. The ONLY setting for OTG is OTG Connection which switches it off after 10 minutes. Doesn't seem to effect it at all. There are 2 settings in Developer Mode Default USB Config and Select USB Config. no combo of settings has gotten me a working OTG.
Has anyone gotten this to work or have any suggestions plz?
Thanks in advance!

Good time. The solution to the problem was found. Install the program from the link
Edit Moderation - Link to 4pda is crap - Use strictly banned
Give permissions when connecting USB, enable the following in the settings

Thanks. But I have already tried MiXplorer. It didn't read either. I'm beginning to believe that the USB -c socket on my 10T is damaged in some way. I'm looking for the best and cheapest way to get it replaced. Thanks again.
