I like to get a tmobile galaxy s5 and have it operate on my att network. Reason being of the unlocked bootloader. Is it as simple as to purchase the unit and root it for it to operate on att or do i need a tmobile account?

Hate to say it, but there is a search button.
This topic has been thoroughly discussed on these forums already.
Ps, this is a Tmobile forum.
Not trying to be harsh, but give me a minute and I will see if I can find some links for you. ..

As the title says, does the Sprint version of the Note 3 have a SIM slot for using international SIMs when roaming? A picture from someones fresh new phone to verify would be great
It does. It's stacked under the sd card just like the other versions.

I would be happy to put up a picture if you really want to see it,but the phone for the most part is the same as the other carriers with regards to the sim slot

It needs to be unlocked in order to recognize SIM cards from other international carriers. Without unlocking, you are stuck with Sprint's international roaming coverage which costs $$$.
Hi im currently trying to use this phone in a gsm carrier here in the Dominican Republic.
Of course is region locked when i turn it on with the sim card inside it says invalid SIM card, it doesn't even prompt for the unlock code or anything like it.
Is there a solution for this? I paid full price for this phone and i didn't knew about this thing.

This may work but I would guess no. .... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470551
You should have gotten a gsm variant

Sprint has to unlock the SIM first. The process takes 2 days for them to get back to you.

Hello Odinforce,
Is there any solution to use the Sprint note 3 (N900P) in your country? I would like to know any manual process to get it unlocked for GSM carrier, similar like the Verizon note 3 (N900V). If someone knows any information, please let us know. thanks

I have changed apn settings. When I try to use the web I get a message from tmobile saying I dont have a data plan. Tmobile rep told me my device is not being recognized as a tmobile phone. Any suggestions?

I hope you get this working I might use my vzw note 2 on tmobile.
Make sure the apn settings are correct and you are using the gsm network option. I've used mine on tmo and currently on at&t without issue.

My First Note mic broke (confirmed at bestbuy by Samsung rep) So I got a replacement with Geek Squad insurance. This is why I hesitate to root. the other thing is I pretty much like stock but I would like to up battery life by getting rid of Bloat I have a mj4* I updated ota to Kit Kat. Tripping Knox make me hesitate as well I previously stuck with HTC evo line so this is my first samsung would tripping knox keep me from being able to use certain programs/functions? What would be my best option for rooting I heard* kingo steals info and sends it to china???!? I'm acting like a noob but I have rooted all my evo's but this isn't htc lol

Not dumb, there's lots of topics to read about how and why, most people here dont care about Knox, just read forms and get a vibe for what people say and go from there... I was an Evo guy from the start and came to this... This is way easier and a hell of a lot easier to fix of you screw something up... Wouldn't mind seeing a Viper rom here..

To get twrp to work, you need to use the 4.4bootloader version, for root, you need to use the 9005 version, read those threads and links are there.. And from my experience, Odin 3.09 works best.

Hi All,
I’ve visited the TWRP Official site and looked for the download and the Device is not found when I do a search for the S5 Is there an official release for the S5?

There isn't one yet for the s5. Go to the international development forums and flash the one there. It works great. Would post the link bit on mobile right now and it is kind of a pain in the butt.

One more quick side note.
Does backup and restore work in it?
Want to make sure I can save the flly stock - rooted rom before I start tinkering with things again.
Yea, it seems like everything works perfectly. Have not had any issues at all. Kind of wondering though why twrp hasn't released it officially yet for the s5 since it seems to work perfectly. They already released an official version for the HTC one m8.
