Was wondering if anyone knew what the best ROM available now for the Note 3 Sprint is? I was using a Samsung Epic 4G w/ CM 10 installed (stable version.) Looking at the Note 3 there are 2 flavors of roms available - the hlte and hltespr - assuming the hltespr is the Sprint flavor, it looks like the project is dead as it hasn't been updated in 6 months and sounds like there are major GPS issues with all of the nightly builds.
Didn't know if anyone knew of any stable ROMs for the Sprint Note 3 where most of the major features are working? I don't really care about NFC as that sounds like a privacy risk and to be honest GPS isn't that important but the main things I need are calling, 4G LTE/3G, and camera.

I am new here, so be gentle I am wanting to get the S4 for Verizon, but I like the idea of having pure android on it. I know the Google Edition S4 will be released the end of this month. what are the chances of someone releasing it so I could put pure android on the S4 from Verizon? They are a big price difference so I would prefer to save the money.
Thank You all for your time
Do you not root? CM10 is out already for the S4. Honestly I don't even know if the Google edition is coming to Verizon, I haven't heard anything about it.

I would much rather have pure android that CM10, Google said they would be releasing a Google Edition for Verizon at I/O. Available through the play store.
honestly, do what I did. get the vzw gs4, root and install a loki recovery on it ASAP. for all flashing purposes, loki is basically an unlocked bootloader. rom and kernel support is fantastic (touchwiz and aosp). I was debating the same thing you were, even considering moving to t mobile, but I made the jump to the vzw gs4 about 3 weeks ago. I'm happy with my decision so that's my 2 cents on the issue

Any word on if the google version will have support for all the new TW features? (IR (with watch on), smart screen, air view, etc)
I actually find some of those features great (like the IR) I don't think CM supprts them, but if the google edition supports it then it may be worth waiting. Or like others have mentioned just root and install the rom when it is ready

No.
IR may eventually be hacked/put into AOSP/AOSP-base ROMs, but the rest... forget it.
This is why a lot of us are going to be running AOSP-themed TW ROMs.
Anyway, the main difference with the Google Edition is that it won't work on VZ. But the devs will port the AOSP code to the i545 soon enough, don't worry.
As far as I know the Nexusized GS4 is going to be on T-mobile only... and as soon as I figure out if the Watch ON will come to AOSP or is supported on AOSP, I'm totally there.

It's not going be "on" anything, but it will work with both US GSM carriers and their MVNOs.
It's the Google Edition One that will only work on T-Mo.
How fast will CyanogenMod shoot out some stable/release candidate ROMS for Non-Nexus phones?
If I am correct, lately CyanogenMod has been releasing new stable versions for phones at one time, rather than one at a time. This is quite a puzzler to me, because CyanogenMod hasn't even released a stable release for any phone running android 4.3 AKA:CyanogenMod 10.2. It seems to me that they should have been on this ball months ago. They have just become a legit company, named CyanogenMod Inc., yet still have not updated any ROM to the newest software (Android 4.3). Hopefully, they will be on the ball one KitKat comes out on October 15th, along with the new nexus.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

I'm running 4.3. So it's probably just your phone. If it use the Samsung CPU, that might be the problem.

Are you sure? Unless your CM10.1.3 is android 4.3, there are no stable versions of 4.3 released for any device right now. As far as CM goes.
As far as I knew CyanogenMod was bringing android 4.3 to its version 10.2.

I personally don't think they're heavily concerned with 10.2 I think KitKat is going to get the focus.

Sorry but thats not how the CM Team rolls. They're main priority will still be 10.2 to get whatever bugs or concerns addressed till they move to another project. They're not just going to waste hours of developing and let it go down the drain. Until they produce a product that is completely flawless and bugfree, then...they'll move to a new project.
Cm10.2 nightly is good for daily use

Well I'm not an expert user... Every night they make some updates so I think they'll be trying to make 10.2 perfectly stable before releasing a 4.4 rc

It kind of is, most of the team will move on to modifying 4.4 and a few will stay behind to make the previous release stable. This will also mean that now will be somewhat of a feature stop for 10.2

I looked everywhere I could before posting this, so I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. Is there a STABLE 4.3 or 4.4 touch wiz based Rom for the Verizon Note 2? I prefer touch wiz because I use my S-pen and multi window way too much to give them up. Thanks!
sent from my VZW Note 2 on Beans rom
Considering that there aren't ANY 4.4 TW ROMs available for ANY device, you won't find that. Also, considering that the Note 2 4.3 update just started pushing out to international devices a couple weeks ago, and just started for US carriers (AT&T & Sprint only AFAIK), you aren't going to find anything for the VZW Note 2. Wait until the 4.3 update is official for the VZW Note 2, then look again after a week.

We might not be that far off seems like samsung already has touchwiz on top of the L

Lol. Grinch of salt? Must be close to Christmas already.
Just because we haven't gotten 4.4.4 doesn't mean T-Mobile or Samsung won't skip to L.
I had a sprint s3 on 4.2 and it skipped the 4.2.2 update and went straight to 4.3. So there's a possibility of that happening for our devices.
Why do threads like this pop up every time some news article quotes an ETA? This is how it goes EVERY TIME for US carriers....International gets the update first....maybe 1-3 months after the OS update is released...then US Carriers "may" see the update based on the carrier's prerogative 3-6 months after that. So don't even think of holding your breath until you see the international version get the update.
But certainly use this thread to discuss upcoming features if you like rather than see another 10 of these threads pop up.

I'm fine with skipping 4.4.4 really
Got it on my s4 and it really isn't much different.
The video preview looked nice though.
Hopefully I can still upgrade with mobile Odin when it comes out a keep root.
I finally have my Linux box setup correctly so I can make a firmware only file from it too as well as make a custom rom which I can remove the tethering checks and enable 180° rotation too

yea 4.4.4 is not a big deal either for me...... I prefer we get L quickly and not take even longer because they release 4.4.4 a month before
The audio enhancements (low latency) alone are well worth the wait for Android L. RAW format and other camera enhancements will hopefully be embraced and enhanced further by Samsung.
Yes, skipping 4.4.4 straight to Android L with little delay on release would be my preference.

T Mobile announced that the Nexus 6 will be the first Nexus to support Wi-Fi calling thanks to improvements in Android 5.0.
http://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news/t...-to-its-data-strong-network-this-november.htm
There's a remote possibility, if a GPE S5 is released, that we could flash a GPE rom that could also support Wi-Fi calling. Wouldn't that be sweet... Lollipop for both TW lovers and pure Android lovers, all on one device.
Of course, many things would have to fall into place for all this to happen. But if it did, the T Mobile S5 would be a great phone to have.

Wow Wifi calling and nexus that is awesome seems like we will be able to get wifi calling in aosp roms on 5.0 then
Great news, Galaxy S5 owners: You may not have to wait that much longer to get Android 5.0 Lollipop on your favorite phone. SamMobile’s sources indicate that Lollipop will start rolling out to the Galaxy S5 sometime in December, which hopefully means you should get it on your own device before the year is over.
SamMobile says that Samsung is making some adjustments to its TouchWiz overlay to make it fit in better with Material Design so hopefully this means there won’t be too much of a jarring difference between what you’ll get on the Galaxy S5 with TouchWiz and a Galaxy S5 with stock Android.

Most roms have no official support. But most with working LTE. AICP, Temasek, Dirty Unicorns, Broken OS and simple aosp all support LTE. It is up to you wich ROM suits you best.
All the ones that I've tested so far that "support" LTE, break GPS. Since I use my N9 for navigation, that's a problem for me. I haven't had any issue aside from that.
