Hello, Ive run into a problem with the tool done all the steps and it spits out this error (tried to install recovery without unlocking boot :/)
LG FlashTool
PID:NULL
IMEI:Null
StartDownload()
Rombinary Download set port 41
Rombinary Download start
lgp769_cp.fls
Startdownload Exception
Same problem here, my phone is soft bricked and I get the same error. Hopefully you find a solution!
I actually did all the steps at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476&page=501 exactly with the v20h kdz for my p769.
The VBS stops at line 71 for some reason I think it cant get permissions to modify hosts so do that manually.
Apparently I'm either further ahead now, first after that was done I had a green dead android who didn't want to reappear now its on a different usb port and has an empty battery symbol with a yellow triangle unplugged it and tmobile screen just came up yeahh budddy!!

The Problem:
Phone stuck on LG logo screen with "Security Error" written underneath.
How I Got Here:
Rooted and installed recovery using apks found in these forums. I successfully restored a CWM backup zip found on these forums. Next, I decided to try flashing a ROM. SuperLuminal gave me a "Status 7" error, but when I checked over the thread, I realized that the P769 was not specifically mentioned as a compatible device. So, I decided to give PACman ROM a try, but got the same error.
I googled "status 7 error" and found a guide for fixing this (removing "assert" line in updater-script line). I was aware of the danger in doing this, but since PACman ROM stated "P769" right there in the title, I gave it a shot. Now I'm stuck with the "security error" screen.
What I tried:
I could no longer get into recovery, so I thought restoring it might be a good idea. I tried to use fastboot using the method described in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2310569). However, I quickly realized that I didn't know how to put the phone into a "download mode" like most other phones I've worked with.
I then tried B2CAPP, but phone couldn't be detected. Went and learned how to get into s/w upgrade mode, ran recovery and got an error message saying "updating is not possible any longer due to a fatal error..."
Next, I tried uninstalling all LG software and rebooting PC. Installed LG PC Suite found here (http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-19186-lg-pc-suite), allowed the program to update to latest version. Then tried to run Emergency Firmware Recovery, which opened a window asking if I want to run LG Mobile Support Tool. I clicked OK and was taken to an app that looked exactly like B2CAPP and gave me the same error as above.
So in conclusion, I can only access two screens: the LG logo security error screen and the s/w upgrade screen. Neither appears to give me access to fastboot/adb nor to LG's recovery tools. Am I permanently bricked or is there a way out of this mess? I've been searching these forums extensively and have tried every method I could find. I'm out of options, so I'm kinda freakin out here. Can anyone please help me figure out what else to try?
You did some studying for sure, but you needed to do some more before jumping in.

Kuma82, I can't thank you enough for your helpful response.
Here's a shortened version of what I did, in case someone out there finds themselves in a tough spot like I was in:
1. Installed OMAP drivers using method described in link above (right-click on device in Device Manager, manually install driver, etc.). Fastboot worked after this
2. Using Lelus' Fastboot, flashed option 6 (load JB xloader and uboot). This gave me an inverted purple LG logo that still said "security error"
3. I think tried to use fastboot to flash the p4_769.img recovery file. No change. Loading up s/w upgrade mode and the LG Mobile support tool (B2CAPP) was no use (stuck at 15%, no connection to phone).
4. Once again, using one of the links above, I downloaded 3 .img files and proceeded to erase uboot, boot and recovery and flashed those .img files instead. When I rebooted the phone, I got the regular LG logo for a second, then a white flash and then a smaller LG logo with "security error"
5. Now, I installed the LG United mobile driver, went into s/w upgrade mode again and ran the Mobile tool. Got the "updating is not possible..." error again
6. Searched for the offline flash fix method and followed it step-by-step, word-for-word. Phone works again!
I'm pretty sure I could have just done steps 1, 4 and 6 and achieved the same result.
Hope this helps someone, and thanks again Kuma82!
I've had this happen to me twice and was able to get out of it really easily. Basically, I just have my desktop set up for offline flashing and my laptop for online. Just popped into S/W update mode and plugged it into the laptop, started the b2c app, clicked on the "recovery phone" option, and went for a snack. Fixed when I came back.
No problem, glad I could help.
Now that you know how to use fastboot, you are pretty much ready for everything.
It took me a couple of tries to get it running.
Use the new root method, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338816
If you plan on staying on stock, get the cwm for locked bootloader, but first get this busy box http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43395803&postcount=260
Then this cwm

Thank you again and this forum too!
Please help! Bricked LGMS769 (P769)
Solved. The LGMobile Support Tool needed to run on a different computer. It worked when I put the phone into SW Update Mode (press up volume key and plug in USB) and then ran the LGMobile Support Tool.
By the way, this is how I got the phone recovered after it was booting to the small LG logo with the "security error" message as mentioned in Step 4 above.
Hello,
I've got a LG L5 II that is stuck at LG screen. This happen because maybe I've deleted the update of google apps in order to have disk space left.

Connection information in device manager :
Normal boot : MT65xx Android Phone
Download mode : LG AndroidNet Phone
Recovery mode : Android laying on the floor with red exclamation mark but nothing happen.
Guide used and results :
Official LG method :
Power on : when connected, still waiting for connection in the LG Update window
Download mode : Connection OK but when trying to upgrade from recovery, failed @ 4 or 5 %, phone disconnected
LG Flashtool 2014 :
Download mode : failed @ 4 or 5 %, phone disconnected
TOT Method: Unable to find TOT file but trying with bin and dll from kdz firmware
Download mode : Error at step flashing SCI.
If possible, I'd like to do a normal flash without losing data on the internal. I know I can do it but I need your help, please
If more information wanted, do not hesitate to ask, I'm trying to be the more accurate possible. Sorry for my English, it''s not my native language.

Extracting KDZ give me DLL and bin file.

Hi !
I was hoping an answer but it isn't the case.
I'll try to help you, I've spent a lot of hours to recover my phone.
Try to follow this How-to :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409308
-----------------------
About my problem, I think I don't have any possibilities. Even a factory reset fail.
USB debugging not activated --> Trying by ADB --> ADB need to install Superuser.apk in /data/local/tmp --> This directory has been erased because I've tried a complete flash and all my data are gone but my phone is still bricked.
Trying to Root to flash recovery --> USB debugging not activated --> Unable to root my phone
KDZ Updater fail (maybe because of USB debugging not enabled ?)
I think I'm f**ed (sorry for this bad word but I don't see any possibilites ...)
----------
Dear mudster, if I can help you, I will do my best

thanks bro we need more people like you in the world
I am going nuts. The recovery crashes at 4 - 5%
Hi everyone, I'm new here, please be kind with a noob like me if it's simple the resolution of my conflict with this lg.
Let's talk about the phone, it was having a security error, but can get into S/W upgrade and into fastboot (but after a couple minutes disconnects i don't know why)
Well, i tried with lg mobile tool downloading the firmware and trying to install it, but always gave me a error communication between cellphone and pc at 50%.
So i tried to download the kdz using the imei from http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=MYIMEI
i tried with kdz updater, kdz updater offline, with all guides here and same error at 50%
then with nothing to lose (at least that was i thought) i followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2585161
and, after delete boot, uboot and recovery and installed those .img my 768 doesnt do ANYTHING.
Just i can ran the phone into fastboot, i don't know how to resolve this, i tried with lelus fastboot and omap4boot, both install sucessfully x-loader and u-boot, but the cellphone still doesn't boot into S/W upgrade or gives me security error, doesn't do anything, if anyone can help me with this it would be appreciated..
Sorry for my english, greetings from Venezuela.
I have a previously 'security error' P765 phone. Recently, there seem to be easy ways to get rid of that. So,I tried.
I tried this:
[GUIDE] [UNBRICK][ROOT] FLASH Any LG L9 Factory ROM (kdz) WITH OFFLINE FIX
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344)
When the phone is flashed and rebooted, I find that the animation was loading too long, so I rebooted the Phone.
I think here is my fault,as I later researching in the forum said I should wait at least 30 min.
I tried the above method again.
It can't detect my phone, isConnectedPhone is 0
So I tried other flashing method, like
P765 Unbrick Using LG Flash Tool 2014(http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-l9/general/p765-unbrick-using-lg-flash-tool-2014-t2950433)
It stuck at 50 %
Am I out of luck? Or is fastboot my last method?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, everybody.
Do you think it makes sense to flash some recovery (Eg. cwm) by some means(fastboot?) so that I can flash some rom to my P765?
Unfortunately my boot locker is still locked.
Thanks.
Referring to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/mega-tut-how-to-fix-bricked-lg-g2-t3055033
I have found a shorter method of unbricking your LG G2 after troubleshooting uppermentioned method for quite some time with no result.
Your phone is stuck at boot in Dload>Download-Mode>Fastboot, mine is LG G2 D802
Your phone will not do Hard Reset when entering recovery and selecting Yes
Windows 10:
- First Install LG G2 Driver. v4.x works fine, I tried many and didn't have any problems in that regard, drivers all work fine
- Download LG Flash Tool 2014, not the fancy new one, but this old version
- Find the most accurate backup .KDZ file of your phone's OS, mine is EU16GB, and the file that worked for me was D80230d_00.kdz. Flashing the wrong rom will result in bootlooping that can be fixed by restarting the process.
1) USB connect your LG G2 in Dload/Fastboot to your PC
2) Run LG Flash Tool 2014 with DEFAULT SETTINGS, press select KDZ file, find the KDZ OEM ROM you found online that matches your phone perfectly, select Normal Flash and click Start
3) Your phone reboots into Firmware Update
Firmware update is the flashing process happening
If it fails you can try again by restarting your phone, or try another KDZ ROM
4) Once the flashing is done the phone restarts itself and boots into the OEM OS
5*) if unsuccessful try a different .kdz, personally I had to try three of them ,_,
i pulled these steps from my memory, i try updating if something is wrong
If I may ask, what do you mean with "1) USB connect your LG G2 in Dload/Fastboot to your PC"?
Could yoiu please elaborate what "in Dload/Fastboot to your PC" means?
