Hi Guys,
Yesterday i installed Paranoid Android on my phone ( full wipe data and cahe ) and it started to reboot when making calls.
So i decided to install CM9 RC1 and got the same problem.
I reverted back to stock and now my phone is fine.
Someone has a clue of what's happening ?
I tried different kernels but got the same problem.
Your help is appriciated.
Greetings,
PTiT
Have you formatted /system and fixed permissions?

If you are doing it through CWM
Try installing after wiping Dalvik cache available in advance.

hi.
Had same kind of issue. Random reboot/shutdown.
I installed 1.6 last night. With full wipe of everything I could find in my kernel to wipe.
then, install paranoid.
then install G-apps.
then WIPE cache again.
then fix permission.
as recommended in the official thread by the dev.
It solved my issue.
good luck.
Same problem here.
Any stock rom (including ICS) works well.
I tried installing paranoidandroid 1.6.
Factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik
Install gapps and camerafix.
wipe cache.
Set phone dpi to 184
reboot
And basically, everytime i try to make a phone call, it looks like that the phone screen (the one that displays the contact picture and the close-call red button) is crashing.
I can hear 10 seconds of phone ringing/conversation and then the system reboots, showing me the boot animation.
The only way to fix this, so far, is by installing a stock rom
..probably I am missing something, but I cannot get it working.
I resolved mine by reverting to a GB stock rom and flashing the lastest nightly from there.

So basically you Installed the latest CM9 nightlies rather then paranoidandroid ?
Hi All,
I have searched both here and on Google for an answer to this, but cant find anything clear.
I have flashed CM9.1 stable and got it set up just right, absolutely love this ROM so far!
As time goes on I am getting very tempted to give the CM10 nightly a go.
As i am going CM -> CM is it possible to flash CM10 as an update rather then wipe all my apps and settings and start over? or do I need to flash google apps, restore everything with titanium and spend an hour in settings again after installing CM10?
Thanks for your help
Normally if you are coming from the same rom then you dont need to do a full wipe.
A full wipe is a must if your going from 1 rom to a different rom.
I would suggest doing a backup just incase but i think it safe to say that you WILL NOT need do a full wipe as you are only updating the same rom.
It is always recommended to do a full wipe
- wipe/data factory reset
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik cache
Install CM 10 nightly and Gapps and reboot.
Set back your apps etc. via titanium backup

Since your going from ICS to JB, Full wipe is absolutely required. Different android versions after all.
HI.
I've changed roms before countless times, but now I'm trying to install a 4.4.2 rom on my Galaxy S3, and I have some problems. The installation (flash) passes with no problems, but after that, the phone won't boot. It sticks on whatever the rom's boot animation is. I've tried to wipe data, cache, wipe dalvik after this but it's still not working. Before I flash every rom, I do a factory reset, wipe the dalvik cache, and format system. I've tried with 15+ 4.4.X roms, and these are some of them: CyanogenMod, OmniROM, SlimKat, AOKP, Pacman and so on. As I said, I've flashed roms before a lot of times, without any problem. Only 4.4+ roms wont work. I tried to change the recovery, still the same result. I flash gapps with every rom too. Any idea what can be causing the problem? I'm using the latest Clockwork recovery, Sorry for my bad english and thanks.

I've already done that every time. As I said - Its not my first time flashing roms on my device. I know how to fix the general errors. This is something unusual tho.
Hey
When it bootloops, have you tried to goto recovery and see what us the cwm version??
Also try re-flashing the ROM without wipes..

I just flashed EHNDROIX V (based on CynogenMod 4.4.2 KitKat) last night and it worked just fine.
Rooted the device with Odin, install TWRP from playstore, install TWRP recovery from TWRP, clean dalvik, clean data, clean cache, flash ROM and then flash Gapps (spesific Gapps for the ROM) and voila it worked right away.
Note:
You see, I am not using CWM but TWRP. I dunno if CWM is the one causing the problem.
Most of the weird flashing issues are due to the recovery used, you could also try the latest version of Philz recovery which has an option to wipe for new firmware.

Quote " Before I flash every rom, I do a factory reset, wipe the dalvik cache, and format system" You said nothing about formatting data that is why i suggested it! Next time please include all details on how you flashed the rom then It cuts down on useless post's like mine
Like everybody suggested try a different recovery ( latest one) which if you have flashed roms many times before you should have done anyway
Thanks guys, but I've already tried these things. CWM, TWRP and three other recoveries (not famous ones) haven't been able to help.

If a rom is stuck in a loop, I would go to recovery and wipe dalvik and wipe data then reboot into same rom. This has worked for me when I've been stuck after a flash.

Did you update your bootloader? When I flashed 4.4.2 from 4.4.1 on my s3, I had to update mine to get it to work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321310 hope this helps.

Hi all,
So I flashed my rom from RRemix ROM over to Cyanogenmod 11, everything seems to work fine with the exception of texting... I keep getting the message "Messanger has stopped", this happens on both the default app as well as Handcent.
I tried clearing my cache and wiping the app data... I also tried clearing cache and divik cache in CWM v6.0.4.7. Now, I was going to try to reflash gapps but of course there is some kinda bug with CWM v6.0.4.7 where it won't let me flash gapps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/par...apps-official-to-date-pa-google-apps-t2943900), and there is no upgrade to CWM for the S3 i747 ATT... I guess I could downgrade? Or should I switch to another recovery app?
Any other ideas? I wanted to ask before I just wipe the phone and start from scratch.
Thanks guys! If I missed any important information let me know!
You know what... doing a I guess it's called a "dirty flash" wasn't the best idea.... I assume that is what the Cyanogenmod autoinstaller does?
Went back to my old ROM and will try a clean install later on.
Hello,
Maybe someone without me has problems with this mobile phone ? Because my phone keeps restarting without a reason, apps are crashing while trying to use them...
I tried to instal miui.eu ROM and even this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/xiaomi-eu-redmi-note-4-rom-multi-t3527345
but it doesn't solve problem
You could try booting into TWRP Advanced/fix contexts & then wipe Dalvik & Cache, then if that doesn't work I would suggest you wipe everything & start again.
Be sure to wipe dalvik & cache after flashing.
I have been running the latest weekly builds from Xiaomi.eu since 6.12.22 & it's been very good so I suggest you start from there.

Same problem still not solved and also not able to install any custom rom !
