[Q] What can I do with a rooted LB? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, so I am a noob, just switched from a iPhone 5s (was in the jailbreak game for about 6 years now) and I just got a Samsung Galaxy S5.
It is Verizon and I just rooted it under Geohot's newly released towelroot. However I do know that that this phone has a locked bootloader. My question is, what else can I do with my newly acquired root? All I know is that at least for now, I can't set a custom recovery or flash ROMs such as CyanogenMod to it. What can I do to a rooted phone that has a locked bootloader?
Sorry if this is a noob question, any positive response is greatly appreciated.

Also would it be possible to do any tethering? for instance from my GS5 to an iDevice?

1 yes you can
2 so many do a search
3 no you cant update your phone if it is rooted
3.1 but you can update it by unrooting it temporarily using an app superuser
4 1 rooting will void your warranty
2 do it as clear as per the instructions for rooting else you will soft brick your phone you can unbrick that but take precautions
that's all take a risk friend

[Q] 4.3 OTA question

Hey all ....
Sorry if this has been covered.
I had a rooted, unlocked Note 2 for a long time that I loved. I purchased the Note 3 not realizing I can't unlock the bootloader. I rooted it but still couldn't get any kind of wifi tether to work ... even paid app ones.
So tonight, I traded my Note 3 to a guy for some cash and his Note 2 .... only to realize it's 4.3 OTA updated.
Can I root and unlock the bootloader or am I screwed?
Thanks. Any help or points in the right direction would be appreciated.

At this point you can only root with kingo. You cannot unlock the bootloader.

Cricket ZTE Overture 2 possible root?

Ok so I got a new ZTE Overture 2 from Cricket and it's running Lollipop 5.1. I was wondering if the bootloader is unlocked, if so then can my phone be Rooted? I heard that you can root lollipop 5.1 with KingRoot but I don't want to try it yet until I know for sure that it's possible. If anyone else has done it and had success can talk please tell me. I have also heard that you can change KingRoot to SuperSU after you have rooted your phone with KingRoot. This way it takes away all the Chinese Stuff. So can anyone help me and figure out if it's possible? And BTW I just got it and it's on Basic Plan and it's 4G LTE.
I've tried rooting with Kingroot 4.5 and didn't work. Really wish it could be rooted..
just rooted my ZTE Overture 2 from Cricket with kingoroot now i'm looking for a rom , still no luck yet
How did you get it rooted????? Been trying for weeks with mine!
Yes, how did you get it rooted?? I think it has a locked bootloader so any root that is acquired will be lost once the phone is restarted.

AT&T Galaxy S4 Root

Hello all,
I've been hearing about kingroot and wanted to use it to root my device. I have an AT&T Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337). I've heard AT&T has patched all the root exploits in 5.0.1 and wanted to make sure this wouldn't mess up my device. Any help is greatly appreciated.
