Hey all ....
Sorry if this has been covered.
I had a rooted, unlocked Note 2 for a long time that I loved. I purchased the Note 3 not realizing I can't unlock the bootloader. I rooted it but still couldn't get any kind of wifi tether to work ... even paid app ones.
So tonight, I traded my Note 3 to a guy for some cash and his Note 2 .... only to realize it's 4.3 OTA updated.
Can I root and unlock the bootloader or am I screwed?
Thanks. Any help or points in the right direction would be appreciated.

At this point you can only root with kingo. You cannot unlock the bootloader.

Hi, so I am a noob, just switched from a iPhone 5s (was in the jailbreak game for about 6 years now) and I just got a Samsung Galaxy S5.
It is Verizon and I just rooted it under Geohot's newly released towelroot. However I do know that that this phone has a locked bootloader. My question is, what else can I do with my newly acquired root? All I know is that at least for now, I can't set a custom recovery or flash ROMs such as CyanogenMod to it. What can I do to a rooted phone that has a locked bootloader?
Sorry if this is a noob question, any positive response is greatly appreciated.

Also would it be possible to do any tethering? for instance from my GS5 to an iDevice?

So I've looked at a bunch of how to videos, and guides, I've tried Towelroot, and GhettoRoot. I've spent hours attempting to root this PoS. I'm at my wit's end to be completely honest. So I decided to come here hoping to get some help. What do I need to do to root this unholy God forsaken device? I'm running OS 4.4.2, on Verizon. It's the i605 model. Can anyone help before I lose what little sanity I have left?

Ok so I got a new ZTE Overture 2 from Cricket and it's running Lollipop 5.1. I was wondering if the bootloader is unlocked, if so then can my phone be Rooted? I heard that you can root lollipop 5.1 with KingRoot but I don't want to try it yet until I know for sure that it's possible. If anyone else has done it and had success can talk please tell me. I have also heard that you can change KingRoot to SuperSU after you have rooted your phone with KingRoot. This way it takes away all the Chinese Stuff. So can anyone help me and figure out if it's possible? And BTW I just got it and it's on Basic Plan and it's 4G LTE.
I've tried rooting with Kingroot 4.5 and didn't work. Really wish it could be rooted..
just rooted my ZTE Overture 2 from Cricket with kingoroot now i'm looking for a rom , still no luck yet
How did you get it rooted????? Been trying for weeks with mine!
Yes, how did you get it rooted?? I think it has a locked bootloader so any root that is acquired will be lost once the phone is restarted.
I am new to the Xiaomi devices. I applied for the bootloader unlocking permission 12 days ago and 2 days earlier I posted a complain. Today my complain is stumped as submitted. Now the questions are how many days I have to wait for the sms? If i flash multilanguage rom with root and xposed will I get sms? Are there any procedure for unlocking bootloader without permission? I used samsung devices. Everything was piece of cake back then. Now I'm facing too much hassles. sorry for my bad English.
I am waiting 3 weeks now for permission...complained 2 times...nothing. Unlock tool does not even start up with signing in...network error.
So bad Xiaomi....really bad.
I am very confused, It seems like there is a only a few mention of Redmi Note 3 PRO
here.... If there is a subcategory for it? please kindly link it to me.
So my question is, can the bootloader be unlocked? I really wanna buy this phone right now but the locked bootloader really makes me change my mind.
Yes it can be unlocked and your in the right forum!

Apply for unlock privileges when you order the phone because it can take upto 2 weeks to get. Use a valid reason and don't copy reason from other sites.
