[Q] Sprint RUU for HTC ONE MAX - HTC One Max

I can't find a RUU for my HTC ONE MAX by Sprint. It has to have "t6spr" or " t6whl" to work on my phone. If not an RUU; then what else to use and instructions on how to accomplish the task. I'm currently running 3.02.651.5 and an older RUU is not working(1.16.651.4)...will not overwrite latest update.
Currently positioned at bootloader....os is wiped, lost "recovey" and my computer doesn't see my device. Haven't found a way to go forward to unlock bootloader or go back to stock.
HELP! I NEED SOMEBODY!....Desperate.

Are you S-OFF or S-ON?

same

No Chance.
You are not able to downgrade the ROM or the Hboot or whatever if you have S-ON.
This is one of the most reasons why I will have an S-OFF device. You can't do nothing with it. Use it. Or throw it out of the Windows. Or sometimes take a call.
But that's it.

I need to get back to stock to replace phone. I don't understand how to flash "0P3IMG" zip files to get back to stock. I was hoping to go s-off to run a downgraded RUU back to stock; but Rumrunner isn't working for me either. Don't know what to do next.......

For the last two and a half days ,I have been trying to get back to factory; to no avail. The process was a great learning experience about many different tools and people who provide great support to those like myself.
I want to thank "Mr.T69" for his help....I really can't thank you enough for the "Fix" you provided for me.
Short synopsis: I got up and running but found that "revone" or "Rumrunner" wouldn't work for me because many roms have made them outdated. So tried as I have, I could not get S-Off. The RUU I had was too old also and I did not know how to flash "0P3PIMG" or "OTA" type files; couldn't find any directions.
The saddest part of this was to find the lack of support out there for my Sprint HTC One Max; as far as RUU's and the like.... We who have them are on an island by ourselves.

Here's some more info that may help:
You may have a bad DL, Check your downloads against these MD5's. There's an off chance you may need to try a different usb cable.
Note: If you previously did the HTC Unlock, you'd have to "relock" before running the RUU. To do this from fastboot type: fastboot oem lock

Getting Started
Before you run the ROM Update Utility (RUU), make sure you have done the following:
• The correct PC driver for your Android phone has been installed.
• The Android phone is connected to your PC using the USB cable. The PC must recognize the Android phone.
• Standby or hibernation mode of your PC has been disabled.
• Close all running applications on the PC.
(MY Note: including Antivirus)
Important Do not interact with your Android phone unless the RUU wizard instructs you to do so.

USE ONLY FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES. THIS OVERWRITES EVERYTHING!!!!
**THIS WILL RETURN YOU TO FRESH OUT OF THE BOX**
You will not need any special drivers loaded, etc...
1.Download the stock ROM ZIP image from here: and rename it "PG86IMG.zip"
2.Copy it to SD Card
3.Reboot phone into hboot mode by holding volume down and then press power.
Keep volume down held until you boot into hboot mode.
4.In hboot mode the phone will scan the SD card with the image. Once it finds it will ask you if you want to update. Press "Power" to update.
5.Wait.... For a while. When it gets to "system" it will loop a few times. Its quite nerve wracking actually but after about 5 or 6 times it will complete.
6.Once the entire flash is complete it will prompt you to "press power to reboot." Press power and your phone will reboot to 100% stock ROM.
7.Once the phone has been flashed you will need to set the secure flag on the radio for S-ON to do this use "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3" Make sure you are in fastboot menu. To do this power down and hold power down while powering up and select fastboot. I have attached the fast boot and adb files to the post.

Ya hopefully if he isn't that the exe is smart enough to know it's not a CDMA phone.... Think it's a fail safe... To keep people from flashing I don't wanna test that theory out tho
I really do hope the OP is CDMA tho that makes it a pain if the folks don't say post if they are CDMA or GSM....... Going off the Hboot does tho... I don't think GSM folks have Hboot 1.5 lol....

[Q] [q] how do I unbrick an amaze that wont go into recovery?

Backstory: I tried flashing android revolution for the amaze once, and it didn't work (error 1) left it alone for a bit after recovering it, went back to bulletproof and flashed faux .009 kernel, then decided to try again...
Well I'll try to make this brief, sorry if I'm posting in the wrong subforum but here goes, I tried going from bulletproof 2.5.0 to Android Revolution HD and didn't flash the superwipe .zip (lazy me). The install failed with the same error 1, only this time I can't boot back into recovery. Booting to bootloader works but when I tried going into recovery I see it pop up for maybe a fraction of a second before the phone reboots.
I've tried reflashing clockwork mod but no dice
any sort of tips you folks can give me to steer me in the right direction?

You need to superwipe the phone and flash the ROM. After the ROM flashes, you have to flash the kernel twice.

Same with you. You need to superwipe the phone and flash the ROM. After the ROM flashes, you have to flash the kernel twice.
Superwiping the phone removes all the data from the old ROM so you can install a fresh clean ROM.
If you want to install the RUU, you have to relock the bootloader first and then you can reflash the original RUU

To flash an official RUU, you must relock it. I've done so plenty of times lol
Sent From My HTC Amaze 4G via Someone's Room
If the phone wont go into recovery, you have to use ADB and wipe the cache partition for it to go into recovery again. This is apparently a bug with some of recoveries posted by other devs in the development forum. You need to use fastboot.exe to wipe the cache via adb
And if... If the superwipe doesn't work due to recovery version you have try to boot in to your Bootloader run one of hasoon's tool and choose different recovery.. it did happen to me the bootloop before due to the fact the old roms like mike's rom. he doesn't update his script to support the newer recoveries and it doesn't support X's recovery, it will give you an error installation.. just try different recoveries and for sure your problem will be solved..
just make sure boot in your bootloader/H-boot then run hasoon's tool and have enough battery just to make sure...

any advice that could help i will appreciate!
There's a thread in the dev section that has about a dozen RUUs. I don't see how one can miss it.
Thanks for your reply but i was a little unsure and did not want to make my phone any worst than it already is.

but i want to know how can i flash the phone when its connected via HBoot usb cause my pc recognizes it as "Android Composite ADB Interface"
Currently this is what is on my lcd

i have tried several PH85img.zip files but the phone just scans them and goes back to the menu.
Some help will be appreciated extremely.

The latest ruu would be your best option, do not put the .zip part of the name since its already there, also a ruu may be an exe or zip file, since it is a complete stock file to restore the device, what would your carrier be to be exact? Just not up to reading through everything in this thread to see if you mentioned that piece of info, if its tmobile then the very first file in the stock ruu/ota thread would be the file you need.

Why are you using recovery exactly?
RUU's are to be flash via hboot, which is the very first screen you see when you go into the device's bootloader, in the case of exe files, you'll need to flash it via fastboot mode, which happens to be, correct me if I'm wrong, the very first or second option on the hboot menu.
yes you are correct cause i just tried it with an RUU from another carrier. i found out that the phone had 2.14.531 software installed. but the RUU i was using was 1.46 and so i got a signature error 132. now i need to find a way to remove the 2.14.531 software and replace it with a lower version. can you help me here

I need some help, and as I always say I don't ask for help unless I really can't find a solution. I tried unlocking my bootloader using the HTCDev method, but when I try to flash the unlock code bin file it gets stuck saying its sending and never moves. Same happened weeks back with my HTC Mytouch 4g Slide and I had somehow got it to work after fiddling here and there. I have HTC Sync uninstalled (I even reinstalled it to uninstall it again and keep the drivers) and I even eliminated my PDANet which seems to cause issues in situations like this. Rebooted my computer literally over 10 Times, same bull. I just can't remember how I got it working on my MyTOUCH. SO...I'm on hboot 2.09 and was wondering if these files would downgrade the hboot or something. All drivers seem to be proper, so I don't see why I'm having issues. I'm familiar with the adv and fastboot tools, I even made the android folder on the main harddrive directory that every post recommends , have the unlock_code.bin there but its the issue of not pushing. I have an old PC but if it worked on my MyTOUCH at one point I doubt it has anything to do with it.
So I wanted to know if its possible to downgrade the hboot to use a different method.
The method of rooting the phone is the same regardless of Hboot, so downgrading won't help you. Click the link in my sig and go to the section that contains the bootloader unlocking tools. Click on the WinDroid toolkit and see if you have any luck with that, instead.

Not root, unlocking the bootloader. It says Sending and never does a thing. It should say Okay immediately after pushing the file but its not doing anything for me. Its supposed to quickly give you a disclaimer on your phone to select whether or not to unlock the BL, but all my phone does is sit in fastboot mode. So I wanted to know if these stock restore things can downgrade the HBOOT as well so I can unlock it in a different manner instead of HTCDev's method. I've been stuck with a locked bootloader for a week since purchasing this phone. My MyTouch4g slide had the same issue but I had done something that got it going, in this case, I've tried everything. Also these self made executable programs like WinDroid give me a "not a valid Win32 application" message on my laptop. They just won't run at all.

There is no other method to unlock the bootloader aside from HTC Dev. Doesn't matter what Hboot version you're on or what software version you have. Even programs like regaw_leinad's toolkit uses HTC Dev-it just automates the entire process.
Shoot Bigdaddy619 a PM. He should be able to get you straightened out.

Hmm come to think of it your right I have seen the scripts mention HTCDev. So what can I do to get it to flash that Unlock_code.bin? HTC Sync is uninstalled, PDANet is also gone, the drivers have been left behind. My device does show up as a fastboot device and the Device Manager shows the phone as MyHTC when on fastboot, what am I missing? Its all set but just stays there...

You did get the email from HTC with the unlock token and place it in your ADB tools folder, right?

No LOL went outside for a second. I would definitely let you help, BUT I'm using an OLD Dell laptop. So old I think cavemans existed when it was invented. My HP is in repair. Bought it new, came faulty, sent for repair. Came back, new issues, right back to HP, so I'm using this wifiless crap for now. I haven't bothered buying it a WiFi adaptor since its so darn old. I mean what can be done with 128mb of ram? Imagine.
It has USB 1.0 ports, I read some discussions that it maybe the case, but the same was said about my old MyTouch 4G Slide and the token went thru eventually.

Yes I even sent the code a second time to make sure the file didn't magically get corrupted.

[Q] [HELP!!] HTC One X+ Bricked.

Hi, I just got my HTC ONE X+ from Taiwan. I forgot to do a Nandroid Backup before I accidentally flashed a boot.img from another ROM. So, i got stuck in a bootloop. At first I thought it was okay, I just need to flash the ROM which was downloading. I realised that my phone's TWRP Mount USB can't be detected by my computer!! So, I had no way. Fastboot commands whenever i try to flash something it says Command Write Failed Unknown error. for adb it says No Device Found. ADB devices: none. Fastboot: yeah i can see a device there. PLEASE HELP ME. What can I do now? My HBOOT is 1.30.0000, RELOCKED Bootloader(I thought the bootloader was the problem. ENRC2B_U PVT Ship S-On RL

I think I had the same problem.
Did you try to use a RUU? Worked for me.
Indeed flash RUU trough fastboot, since u can still use that it should be fixed after that
Where to get RUU?

I googled HTC ONE X+ RUU. And was fruitless. Many are third party ROMs, and I'm not sure where to download the correct one. Even which to choose I'm not sure.
drivers installed?
There's a link on the TWRP thread you should have read before installing.
As Lloir says, do you have the HTC driver package installed? What recovery you have, should have no impact on how fastboot detects your device, just install drivers and flash a working kernel through fastboot.

Yes. I got HTC Drivers, Fastboot and ADB. Most of the things I try to flash has an error Command Write Failed or something like Remote Not Allowed and stuff like that And what is RUU? I thought it's like a ROM in ZIP format

Just seen your post,
You could have used adb sideload feature in twrp to send a rom and flash it.
I requested the feature to be added to Hasoons AIO toolkit for situations like this

Hey i got the same problem and to start here i'am a noob in this. This is my first Android device and my first time trying to install a ROM. I used Hasoons all-in-one kit, and unlocking to bootloader went fine, so did recovery and Perm Root. I tried to install Android Revolution HD 5.1, so first I tried to install the other firmware that was needed for it, that is 1.16.401.6. I did something wrong there i guess and its stuck at the HTC start up logo. I tried to make sense of the posts above but i couldn't. My PC doesnt recognize the phone anymore but if I use a command from the all in one kit it does still respond and i can use the power and volume down button to go into bootloader. I tried some things there but really dont know what I'am doing. If someone can help me to get a ROM installed or go back to factory settings from the phone atleast make it work again would be much appreciated. I think i installed all the drivers because it worked before and it still does respond to flashboot in all-in-one kit. Sorry for being so noob. and thanks for the help.

Could someone please post an idiot proofed set of instructions to do this.
I have the relevent RUU.exe file, but simply running it doesn't work.
I'm assuming I need to replace the boot.img that I flashed with a stock one, but I don't know how to get it out of the .exe file.
My phone is bootloader unlocked, and rooted, and I can get into bootloader or clockwork recovery, but I can't get any new ROM onto the device via USB.
I just want to start again from stock...

To be clear, running the RUU .exe proceeds normally and tells me there's an unknown error and it that it can't update my phone.
Check und my stats. I wrote what I did to solve a similar issue. I just am lazy to search for it myself.

I meant huge as in important. People have been clamoring for this for awhile and this is the first time I've seen an RUU for the T-Mobile variant.
I was thinking just yesterday how nice it would be to have an RUU on hand. Good timing.
Yay I can finally feel confident rooting this thing and loading some Roms. I was waiting for a proper way to get back to complete stock before dwelving into the process.

So if we were tonflash an Intl 4.2.2 ROM and we wanted to revert back to stock 4.1.2 .is it safe to assume j could just follow the instructions as mentioned on the HTC site or is there a safer smarter way to flash a ruu such as in ruu mode. I'm new to HTC devices.

i actually think i may need to run the full RUU. i was s-off and rooted and went back to stock and locked bootloader to pull down OTA update, that all worked fine but now when im trying to run revone im getting segmentation fault and cant unlock. put S-on to start from scratch and now made it even worse. so my thought is to run the RUU if it wont upgrade my hboot then try revone again. sounds like i may be SOL though.

I don't think so I think you just have to wait for everyone to update to this new base remember in order to do this you also have to have a different base when you first used his software
