Hello, after days and days of Googling and researching I gave up and decided to ask you guys, you're my last hope.
So I have a soft bricked Samsung Mega Duos, the brick was caused by Xposed Modules. Now I know that Xposed can be easily disabled by using the Xposed disabler zip package to be installed by CWM, but I don't have one.. and when I installed one it didn't work properly (it was over stretched, scaled and blured)
I can't get to the stock rom option as I don't have access to a fast internet connection now, beside that I don't have a backup to any of the files on my phone
TL;DR : My only option is to convert the Xposed Disabler zip file to a flashable tar.gz file to be installed via Odin, is such thing possible?
Thanks XDA!
Bump!
I am in the same predicament a few years later, only difference is I have a recovery (TWRP), but my device won't boot into it for some reason... I know my recovery.bin isn't corrupted (it was working before I flashed module), so I'm beyond lost. Please help! <3

You don't need root to install a rom on those things. What is the error when installing the custom recovery? Does it flash successfully but once you boot to recovery, it isn't there? If so, it's because you have to make sure to boot to recovery BEFORE you allow it to boot to the operating system first. The phone has a script built in that checks to see if the recovery has been modded and rewrites the stock one to it. When the phone goes to auto reboot after installing the recovery, hit the button combo to enter recovery immediately, do your backup, then follow installation instructions for the rom you want.
If this is NOT the error you are receiving, please describe it.

[Xperia Neo L - Customized Stock ICS]
I looked into it a bit, and pretty sure I know why you are having issues. This particular model has the recovery built into the kernel, so you actually need a kernel with the recovery part already replaced with a working custom one that is specifically for your firmware. There are 2 methods to install.
Odin: http://d-h.st/me0
Via Update via Zip in stock Recovery (3e): http://d-h.st/FpR
What slot are you trying to install from? It should be the AP slot for Odin 3.09.
If you want to try TWRP, well, it only works with 4.4.2 and comes prebundled in some Kit Kat roms like Omni
Hey guys,
I have just recently purchased my Galaxy S6 Edge. It's a decent phone aside from a lot of bloatware, massive battery drainage etc.
What I would like to do is get the deodexed XtreStoLite rom on my device, have it rooted on 5.1.1 with SuperSu (I would like to keep the fingerprint scanner working if possible) and install recovery such as CWM or TWRP. I am not too bothered about Knox being tripped, I don't plan to ever use Samsung Pay so the efuse being blown doesn't bother me.
I just would like to know the order of how to flash/install these. Do I flash the rom first? Then use rooting software such as Ping Pong? Or CF Root? Do I install the recovery BEFORE root? Etc etc.
If you guys could help me with this that would be great!
Flash recovery via ODIN https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347765202
Flash custom kernel with auto root via TWRP https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347808102
Reboot to check root.
Flash ur new rom via TWRP
Flash custom kernel again.
Enjoy
Hey, is it the same procedure if I want to use CWM rather than TWRP?
Also, there does appear to be a UniKernel v8-0002 ODIN FLASHABLE. I assume process would then be flash with Odin, reboot to check root, flash new rom with Odin, then flash the kernel again with Odin.
If that is the case then no recovery would be required right?
Make sure drivers are installed first especially if using windows 10 I would use 8.1 or 7 I also had problems downloading original stock firmware this is required first just incase you brick your device

Thank you guys, I managed it quite easily, although guys, if you feel the need to wipe your caches from within TWRP, don't put a cross in the system option thinking it won't hurt anything, it wiped my android and had to reflash stock rom lmao.
All is well though now, got the UniKernel (rooted) with XtreStoLite deodexed on my S6 Edge with no issues, latest modem and bootloader files too. Fingerprint lock capable right out of the box. I'm a happy camper, now to get it loaded with Nova launcher and all the other goodies. Anyone recommend any of their favourite apps?
Also what frameworks you recommend? Xposed etc?
do u have fingerprint work after root and recovery and which files u use and the method ... thanx
Hi everyone, i have rooted my s6edge SM-G925F 5.1.1 by flashing a kernel through Odin, i installed TWRP, flashed Xtrestolite Rom SM-G925K and Aroma, all in order to get Xposed Framework so i could cloak it and finally use my banking apps again. I have installed 'almost' every Xposed version i could, and my phone gets stuck in a bootloop every single time!
In between all the mess you read above, i had to flash my phone twice with a stock rom because it got softbricked by messing with Xposed.
Now i have finally learned to make a backup in TWRP..
Does anyone have an answer for this or a possible solution?

RESOLVED! Thanks to WANAM's clear advice and files
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
I have successfully installed Xposed, no errors or issues for some reason it only worked after i have deleted the xposed apk from my device first, and then installed the file in this link;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3580700&d=1450427455
through TWRP recovery and voila!
Thanks to Wanam, everyone else and ESPECIALLY ME!
My best!
Hello bro this is shaarawr
Hi, just follow the information above and be sure to delete xposed if it's installed and delete the apk file also from your device, then download the installer.zip and uninstaller.zip from the link above. Delete any previous "xposed-Arm.zip" file that you have installed previously.
Go into recovery and install the "uninstaller.zip" first.
System reboot the device.
Go into recovery again and install the "installer.zip" you've downloaded from the link above. (DO NOT DELETE DATA/DALVIC AFTER FLASHING/INSTALLING THE .ZIP FILE)
just TAP REBOOT.
Just wait, it could take a second. If you end up in a bootloop just go back into recovery and install the "uninstaller.zip" and reboot.
MAKE A SYSTEM BACKUP THROUGH RECOVERY FIRST, in case you end up in a hard bootloop.
Let me know if it works or not.
about: Samsung S5 G901F
I don't know what i am doing wrong, but I cannot install the xposed framework for Android 6.0.1
What I did so far:
1) installed a new stock rom
2) installed CF auto root, I have a confirmed SU.
3) in Recovery mode I try to install all Xposed framework zips from my SD card, but I always get an error message that the file check was not good.
Please give advice .
you can't install xposed framework on samsung devices on lollipop or marshmallow if its had a stock rom,if you try to..
the phone will get bootloop, if you want to install it,i suggest you install a custom rom,
it WILL NOT work on stock samsung devices.
After installing any custom rom,go here
You can install Xposed on stock Samsung roms. You just need the Touchwiz version.

I succeeded installing CWM (Clockwork mod recovery).
In short what I did:
1a) Download kies 3 from samsung for the USB drivers to connect to your phone.
1b) Download Odin latest version, or older which comes with a specific software you want to install, usually latest works.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
1c) Shutdown phone completely. Press volume down + power button + home button at the same time, to enter ODIN download mode.
1d) connect phone by USB and you should see a blue light and COMX, where X can be any number like COM5, etc. If you see this then
the connection between ODIN and mobile is ok. Please don't touch the USB cable as you can easily loose connection. In worst case
you need to Flash any Android stock rom with ODIN again , which can be found at Sammobile for instance. I had to do this because
my phone lost connection and the flash operation failed. When I boot my phone I only saw ODIN screen. Thankfully you can always
flash stock rom back. In my case, I read something about a locked boot loader etc etc... that would be a bit more work....
Unpack until you see a MD5 file. In Odin you click "Phone" or "AP". The file will be checked, that takes about 10 seconds, after that you can press
"start". After flashing you should clear cache and user data, otherwise you will see the Samsung screen for endless time.
1) I have android 6.01 and the CF auto root works perfectly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980683
Use Odin to flash, put file into phone or AP.
2) downlad CWM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/sm-g901f-to-s5-how-to-root-t2882104
Put the file, leave it zipped/packed, dont unpack it, put it into phone or AP again and start the ODIN flashing.
3) download Xposed framework, the right version. I am so far. I downloaded version SDK23, because that is the version for Android 6.0.X, but I got a message that it was for android 5.0 SDK 21, I am puzzled. Will try again.....
@es0tericcha0s, thank you will have a look at that.
Ah, i forgot I got sooo frustrated that I downgraded to 5.x to test the power consumption, if its better than 6.01, that I thought I still have 6.01 installed. But my stock rom is 5.x. downloading again, but now 5.x version ARM. Should work now.....
Edit: Flashed 6.01 android and Xposed ARM SDK23 installs fine...
Also installing Amplify, I read it about it that it works well with Greenify...
Amplify seems to be an impressive piece of software. Ir permits me to limit alarms and wakelocks! I can set the period of time it has to wait until it's alarm or is permitted to wake up. Wow....nice.

ooh,thx for correcting me up
I went to cf auto root to find a root file for my phone and like an idiot, downloaded a boot+recovery file instead of the rooting file So I accidentally flashed a recovery+boot tar file on my galaxy j5 prime (SM-G570F) and ever since that it keeps restarting after the very first (samsung galaxy j5 prime, Powered by android) page. I flashed twrp and that works, I can use downloading mode and flash other things, I've tried a number of different boot image files, the problem remains, so Ive decided to flash a copy of stock firmware (latest update) instead. Will that fix it? If not, can I fix it, and how? Also pls provide a stock boot image if you can, I want to try that again one last time. Also please reply fast, If my parents find out, they'll kill me
