Shostock3 does not use an appropriate kernel/recovery to flash any android 4.4 firmware.
see this post for details on using an appropriate kernel/recovery.

It means your recovery needs to be updated. If you're wanting CM11 you would need to flash RenderBroken's kernel. If it's CM10 you would need AJK 4.9 AOSP.
Flashing one of these version-specific kernels will give you the recovery you need.

EDIT: SteveMurphy's response covers it better.

[Q] Can't install Blurred ROMs

I have an Atrix 4G, rooted/bootloader unlocked, running Ba2TF (CM7.1) right now, but when I try to flash any ROMs even based on Blur, it doesn't work. CWM recovery gives me an error when I try flashing. Any ideas how to flash a Blurred/Stockish ROM?
Maybe you can tell us which error are you getting when trying to flash a Blur rom...

Good idea I'll try flashing and post the specific error.
Also, which ROMs are you specifically trying to flash and what recovery are you using and where are you placing the zip file to flash from and are you performing the appropriate wipes and and and ..... ???
Just for future reference, please give as much details as possible to make it easier for anyone trying to help to diagnose the issue.

ROM: GingerMod 2.3.6 #7
Recovery: CWM (as stated in the OP) 5.0.0.*
Zip: Root of SD card
Everything else: yep, I've flashed a ton of ROMs on this phone. This specific one (GingerMod) is the only one that's given me problems.

Pretty sure md5 mismatch.
Status 7 means you're trying to apply a ROM that's not for your device.
I was experienced that error when I was trying to flash a random roms through cwm.
Try downloading the rom again or update CWM. You may also toogle signature verification in recovery, if you have that option.
At the end: you can flash the rom with Odin, just convert the zip to tar.

Thanks, doesn't seem like it was so simple. I had tried that many a times before posting this on to the forum. When I try to install CM10.2 again through CWM, it errors out with (Status 7) error. I did a Wipe/Factory Data Reset, Wipe Dalvik Cache and format system. Tried again but the same error re-appeared (status 7).
So I had to reinstall CM11 and GAPPS for CM11 again to make the phone work with some old bugs again . Camera not working, lag in screen rotation, stock browser not working etc.,
Thanks

status 7 it's cause there's something wrong on the updater script in the Rom build, check the Rom Thread that you've download

Thanks, not sure on what the issue with the Rom could be. I have rooted the device and then installed Blazing Kernel V3 with CWM 6.
Before I decided to upgrade my phone to experimental CM11, I used to apply all CM10.2 Nightlies without any issues.
I have tried to install even CM10.1 stable release through CWM v.6 and the same error comes up.
Further, I have always downloaded ROM's from download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9100g or through the CMupdater in the phone.
Can you please let me know, what version of Blazing Kernel should I using on GT-i9100G and how do I flash it safely without fearing of the "Sleep of death" happening.
Thank you.

Trying to re-download file now, see if it helps any.
I used Dori on the JB RR rom, and it worked fine - but you might be right that there is no KitKat support yet. Cant seem to find any definitive info on this? :/
Reason I want to change kernel is because battery life is not as good on the stock one that comes with RR KitKat.

Does not seem that I can get it working no matter what I try Maybe the CWM doesnt support flashing it or the RR KitKat rom just does not support other Kernels yet.
Anyone know if I am wasting my time trying to find custom kernel for RR KK4.4.2?

Hello guys,
I am facing the same problem i.e error Status 7 while trying to flash dorimanx on RR 4.4.2. CWM is KK compatible and tried several dorimanx v10.43 version but all give the same error.
I can see several people are using this combo of Rom and Kernel but wondering if there is a special way around it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
follow this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546597 and try flashing the rom
