Hi All,
I've a HTC Desire V with Android 4.0.3 and I want to upgrade to Jelly Bean. Below are my question and will appreciate if anyone could guide me on them.
1. Which version of Jelly Bean should be used for the upgrade and where to download it from, as there are many pages on internet which take you to custom ROMs (which is confusing)? Hence, which ROM to use so that my device can handle it well?
2. I need a neat procedure to upgrade the phone from ground level (my phone is not even rooted as yet).
3. I came across few threads on internet where people have rooted their phones and once they restart the phone it gets stuck on boot screen and nothing happens. Please advise how to avoid this problem?
4. Where I can find tools to accomplish this task?
Kind regards,
Aniruddha
Rooting is very easy and already posted in XDA, just search.
JB ain't around yet.
Desire v is not likely to get the jb update, but you can get some smoother stock roms

Hi everyone,
Im using rcmix Rom. Android version 2.3.3 which comes with HTC sense 2.1 I think.
I wanted to ask if there are any roms available with HTC sense.3.0 or any other Rom to update my current rcmix Rom to HTC.sense 3.0?
Also when I rooted my phone I didn't backup my device. So what do I have to do if I ever want to back to factory android version that my phone came with, which was 2.2.
I guess thats about it for now.
Thanks

Hi everyone
A friend of mine owns an xperia neo and it became totally unusable since the ics update back in august. Now he finally gave in and asked me to help him to install gb firmware (or stock ics if there's any stable and smooth aosp roms) on his phone. I did a bit of research here (quite hard actually due to all the variants ...) and all what I've found needed an unlocked bootloader which is impossible for his phone. I'm not familiar with sony's phones so I don't really know if anything can be done with a locked bootloader. Any kind of help is welcome. Thanks.

do u want to Flash stock GB or want to flash Custom ROMS? if u want to flash stock GB then u can flash it on locked bootloader & if u want to flash custom roms, then there are some custom roms available for locked bootloaders as well.
Stock gb will be enough for now. What do i need to download ?

Hi,
I installed Custom ROM with an idea that it will improve my phone performance but hell i am seeing sluggish performance in some of the basic phone functionalites like contact searching
I didnt back up my stock rom when i rooted the phone and hence i request you to please share me the WORKING link of HTC Legend Stock ROM (Doesnt matter what android version it has 2.1 or 2.2)
I am fine with it
Thank you in advance
If you want rooted stock then I suggest looking in the dev section there are lots of roms, try using blay0s froyo b0.8.4 it's basically stock with quite a few improvements.
If you want completely stock Rom and no more root goto
http://www.shipped-roms.com and download the correct region for your location they are windows exe files, all you need is USB drivers I believe, from memory HTC sync is all you need.

An important question, how did you root your phone, via htcdev boot unlock or other method?
If htcdev unlock, you will need to relock it or you will get error 155.

And you WASTED half of your bandwidth by not reading the thread properly.

All ROMs come with NO root and NO busybox, it's purely stock are written on post #2 referring to 1.18.401.1 ROMs.
Do I write that on post #1 from where that you have link to that backup ??
Read this thread from page 100 onwards, many things have been said on how to update : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209143&page=100
I'm not going to start all over again to advise how to do it. You can ask question there, someone will assist you
Thanks man ! Updated ! No lock screen widgets though

Just flashed the missing googleapps.zip by ckpv5 and had stock recovery installed again ! Dowloaded the update and installed ! Didn't remove superuser and it still !
What's the procedure I need to follow for getting the update? Stock recovery, stock kernel and stock Rom. Anything else? And where can I get the stock Kernel from?

You actually flash the kernel if you flash the boot.img ! Stock Rom with all bloatware and stock recovery will actually help you update to jb !
