ideas to increase battery performance - Ornate TrueSmart

Anyone have ideas to increase omate battery performance because I noticed that the battery consumption is higher specifically after the last OTA update?

Which OTA update is this? My last ROM version is 20140513.103530_V2.0 and my watch tells me I'm up to date. This is 1G/8G 2100MHz.
Battery performance seems OK for me. Wifi seems a bit power hungry, but just plodding around the UI and using simple apps isn't too demanding it seems.

Has anyone noticed better battery life with the new 2.3.4 update?

I was trying not to be that guy "ohh my battery life, all the way across the sky!" But hell, I admit that it's pretty damn good with this update, kernel magic perhaps?

Strange, I haven't noticed a change in my battery life.
I think the new PRI is causing the phone to sleep faster
i think my battery has been worse
i can tell you for sure HTC IQAgent is using significant CPU cycles, i don't think it was present on the older firmware

why in the world would u enable that?
i didn't enable it, it's new with the ota update
and it also looks like you can't kill it from a task manager
Oh yeah, I had Freeza's tweaked Kernel for 2.3.4 that had that stuff removed. Forgot about that.

arent u talking about the HTC background program that u can unselect during the setup process?
A noticeable bit better----its been 12 hours off charger and I'm at 51% power left: wifi all day and roaming with 2-4 calls, 2 emails accounts, twitter and some time on xda

Afaik it's a mandatory system process that HTC uses to collect usage data, if there's a way to disable it I'd love to know!

Again, get Freeza's modified Kernel. It's in the development section.

Ive noticed that my battery life is significantly better. Typically with moderate internet usage, three email accounts, , weather, facebook, and stocks updating I would need to charge by probably 5-6pm, sometimes earlier. It is nearly 10pm now and I am still just over 15%.
I noticed a battery improvement with my PRL update on 8/16. Before the PRL update I would average -86dBm to -92dBm, after -81dBm to -87dBm on EVDO according to Signal Status app. Update on 8/18 no apparent battery improvement. YMMV

High kernel usage

Loving the DNA so far but I've noticed my kernel usage has been high. I don't think It's almost never been below 30%, at one point it was at 50%. From my understanding this is not normal and is creating bad battery drain. If anyone has any suggestions or advice it would be appreciated. Maybe I should try a different kernel? Here's some screenshots from a few minutes ago.

You can try a different kernel there are two different ones in this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1967 . However, the kernel is (are) the piece(s) of software that basically runs everything, so having the most battery usage out of the kernel is to be expected. The kernels on the form I gave may have better battery usage for multiple reasons (optimized resource usage, bloat removed, etc.) but it will (probably) still be the biggest battery eater.

Thanks. I was kinda thinking that. It makes sense that the kernel will be higher in percentage the less the screen is used and vice versa. Just seemed like my battery drain was excessive and since the kernel usage percentage was the highest I assumed that it was the problem. I'll give a different kernel a go and see what happens. Thanks again.

Sure thing, but don't expect much more battery life. With a quad core processor, two gigabytes of RAM, a 1080p screen, and an active 4G radio this monster draws a lot of power.

I hear ya. Just seems like I'm getting a lot less battery than what I've seen other people claim they get, especially in deep sleep but oh well. And yes, this thing is a monster lol. Best phone I've had yet.

I wondered the same. Both kernal usage and android system are many times higher than my last HTC.

Low battery life while using supernexus 2 4.2.2 on my galaxy s3

Hi folks. I recently flashed to this ROM for the nexus 4 experience. Its really fast but I have noticed an issue. The backlight takes a lot of time to adjust brightness as power ambient light conditions.
Also the battery life is quite low. I live 40 away from work and I lose about 9% battery buy the time I teach work every morning without even touching it.
CPU governor is pegasusq while I/O scheduler is bfq. What can I do to get more battery life without compromising Performance?
Cheers

Most AOSP based rom have battery drain issues. Usually Android OS have a high percentage in battery usage stats. No fix as far as i know.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
As mentioned earlier, AOSP might be the problem, whereas you could also check with BetterBatteryStats what exactly is consuming most of your battery load. Maybe you will identify a problem that can be fixed.
Thanks for help guys. Will check it out.

If your phone is rooted, you can read this guide for advices:

Try using the Easy Battery Master.
It have a formidable option called BOOST who kills all unused apps and services every 5 minutes(need be configurated to it) and also show the remaining battery in time calculated by your current usage status. This app give me something about 2-3 hours of extra battery daily.
Thanks Guys! I will try the methods! Hopefully my stock 4.1.2 battery life will improve

Then get a regular genuine battery.
After it's first year my battery started to last less and less. I've replaced it and currently having great battery life on CM+Dorimanx.
