[Q] Secured lock time? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

Does the tmo version not have a "secured lock time" setting? I can't find it anywhere.
What i want is the fingerprint scanner to be set but have it be a swipe lock screen all the time but if the phone is idle for X amount of minutes then it changes to secured lock.
The ATT s5 has this feature... am i just to dense to see it?

Curious too. I have to wait 30 seconds a few times. Hate it especially in emergencies. Changing to maybe 10 fails would be better in my case.

[Q] How to tame the lock screen?

I'm coming from Windows Mobile, where the lock screen is much more tame (and usable in my mind). If I'm actively using the phone and turn the screen off and then on again, it's smart enough to not lock it immediately. If I recall, there's even a setting for how long it needs to be off before it locks.
Is there any way to get my Vibrant to behave like this? I hate that I have to swipe my unlock every time I turn off and on again.
Ummmmm.....the only thing I can recall is to set the timeout higher before it turns off?? I think its defaulted at 30 secs but you can set it higher or even turn it off so you manually black out the screen with with the power button.
Dont know if thats what your looking for..
Not really. I usually turn off the screen to look up and talk to someone (for example), and then when I turn it back on, I don't want to have to unlock it.

yea..I dunno.. I don't think you can disable the swype screen
There is an app on the market that you can use to totally disable the lock screen if you want. It's called no lock

Or you can buy widgetlocker from the market. It has a gangload of options and to my knowledge let's you do just that
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I did disable lock altogether with Screen Tools 2, but that is not ideal. I couldn't see anything like what I wanted with widgetlocker. It allows a different timeout if the screen is turned on and locked, but that's not what I'm going for.
Anyone else have some help?

Puzzle unlock question

Hey forum. I don't know about you but I hate how the puzzle unlock show up every time my screen turns off. Even if it's turned off for a second. If I remember correctly, my old ipod touch had a setting where you can have the unlock screen only come up after the device's screen had been off for a certain amount of time. I tried to find it in the vibrant settings but didn't see anything so I turned off the unlock security altogether. This past weekend i was messing with my friends droid x and it was doing what I wanted my vibrant to do.
Is there a way to set some kind of timer so the puzzle unlock only shows up when the screen is off for 5/10/15 minutes?

in hit the lower left button go to setting hit that hit the display there you can change the screen timeout to 1-2 or 10 minutes and there (depending on your rom) you can change the screen lock as well
Sorry. When I said puzzle unlock, I meant pattern unlock. Im not trying to set the diplay off timer. I want to actually set a time for the pattern unlock so it doesnt come up every time my screen goes to sleep. I want to set it so that the security pattern unlock only shows up after my phones display has been off for five min. If I happen to turn on my phone before the 5 min, I want it to be the rugular slide android unlock. Sorry if I'm being unclear.

I don't think there is a way to disable it. There is a app called Widget locker that will let you put icons on your home screen. That way when your screen turns on just tap the app on your home screen with out unlocking your phone.
Hope this helps a little

Just to clarify, widget locker is a replacement lock screen. It'll replace your current one.
I'd also recommend trying nolock, which removes the lockscreen altogether (not sure about a pattern unlock though)
Since I don't use a pattern unlock, I'm not quite sure how to help otherwise.

Yea. If it gets to the point where I have to download an app, I think I'll just have to suck it up and live with it. I'll try to check out my friends phone the next time I see him to see if he's got a setting on his droid. And btw I'm using bionixV. Thanks

Phone lock settings

Can you change the phone to black out the screen to save battery, but not lock for a certain time? For instance, I want the screen to black out after 30 seconds, but not to lock for 5 minutes. Is that possible?
I know you can do that with the passcode lock. It was quite a scandal recently.
I don't think you can disable the lock screen once the screen has timed out, at least not in stock settings. Search the market I would think there's an app for that.

[Q] Security->"Automatically Lock" timeout in CM10

I just installed a CM10 rom and I LOVE IT.. however I have one big issue that is hard to deal with. An app I have (lotus traveler) requires device administrator access, and it imposes a policy which says I have to have a password lock. In addition, I am allowed to have a lock timeout of at most 30 minutes before the password comes into effect.
On GB, ICS any phone this has always worked great. I set the timeout to 30 minutes. If I lock the screen, I just swipe to unlock. After the 30 minutes of being locked, a password must be entered to get past the lock screen.
On this ROM (and I have read all the others on JB?) there is no way to have a lock screen w/o a password. I think I can live with this. But I would really like to be able to set "lock timeout" to the 30 minute max policy provided by the software I installed.
Does anyone know what to hack & where to extend this to 30 minutes? I am rooted and unlocked of course. I have seen other JB phones (i.e samsung) showing screenshots with times up to 30 minutes.
Edit: should mention the MAX today is only 10 minutes. Also "lock delay" in the app store doesn't help if you have an app requiring password lock all the time.
It hasn't changed, you can still set the delay. Most ROMs it should be menu >Settings >Lockscreen >security, it something similar.

Dang! I wish I knew what to change in my rom to get that enabled (mine just goes from 30 seconds -> 10 minutes). I'm just using that "4th night nightlies" ROM "recovery-ra-vigor-3.16-gnm.img.zip".
demmo86rt -- Yeah I have the setting but it maxes out at 10 minutes. And when I do use it, it isn't like ICS/GB was... Before it used to be:
1) Using phone
2) screen goes off
3) Before the timeout, push unlock button
4) Screen comes on, lockscreen, swipe ring and unlock and go
5) If you wait till after the timeout, push unlock button, you must enter the PW first on the on screen keyboard
---- With JB ----
1) Using phone
2) Screen goes off
3) Before the timeout, push unlock button
4) Comes up to home screen. No lock screen protection
5) If you wait till after the timeout, push unlock button, you enter the PW ON the lockscreen and that clears it.

I'm fine either way but I would really like the timeout to be 30 instead of 10 minutes

Yeah, that's how mine is on LiquidSmooth (with all the options up to 30 min). I normally don't use lockscreen security, but I enabled it after reading this post to see how it worked. I do like the delay, but would rather have the regular swipe to unlock before the timeout. The main reason I don't use the security is because it irritates me to always put in the stupid pattern, but I don't like it waking straight to the homescreen, too much chance of something opening up in my pocket.

Maybe I should go post this back in the forum thread for the ROM I installed.. I bet it's something that can be changed.
Yeah the "waking up straight to homescreen" is a new thing I found in JB.. It never worked like this before. I think the issue is android developers don't typically have to deal with the corporate security requirements.. Thats the only reason I have to have a password, it is required by the application that is installed.
SOLVED!

Not sure if you found a solution, but I had the exact same problem.... until I found this post on another site. (Updated) - It did NOT work for me in the end. Seems to work for Moto users, but not for various Samsung users (I'm on Cyanogenmod 10.2, but tried the other versions to no avail).
Cheers
This behavior is affected by two different settings:
<Menu> -> System Settings -> Security ->Automatically Lock
<Menu> -> System Settings -> Display -> Sleep.
The administrator policy requires a 30-minute maximum timeout for the combination of both the Display Sleep and Automatically Lock. If you see "Immediately" as the only option for Automatically Lock then your Display Sleep timer is set to 30 and won't allow any time left for automatic lock.

[Q] Lock the phone right away when using lock delay

Hi,
On my LG Nexus 5, I have setup a delay for the lockscreen to 2 minutes after the phone is not in use. This is also true for when I turn off the screen with the power button (the phone will only lock 2 minutes later). I love this feature as I don't have to input my password too often when, for example, I turn the screen off and realize I forgot to check something. I just press the power button again and the phone is unlocked (if done within 2 minutes).
My questions is how can I lock my phone immediately without changing the 2-minute setting? In some cases, I would like the phone to lock immediately. Does anyone know how to do this without installing some new app on my phone? And if this is not possible, can you recommend an app that would allow me to lock my phone right away (for example when I tap an icon or something)?
Thanks!
