is there any rom or custom rom or even CWM ot TWRP for this phone ?
have anyone tried backing up ROM on this phone ? i tried but i failed permanently because of CWM recovery !

ROM must be flashed with spflashtools version 5.1343.01 or above.
Since you have this phone... I have an issue with bluetooth headset: the device is paired correctly and works fine (I can make and answer calls) but no operation is performed when I long press the headset button... I have both voice search and KLets installed but I cannot make any of them start when long press is performed, do you have any experience on this?

My phone bricked after flashing with this rom.
What should I do? I'm stuck :crying:
for the roms and tools for Star Z2 can be found on "talkmobi" page you have to google search for it as i am unable to post links yet:
there are two sections you have to look at:
"rom download & flash guide" (top menu link + click on it) --- flash tools, drivers & tutorial get printer handy
and the second "fast card tech rom released july" (hover on the link above and a menu will apear after downloading the mtk tools and drivers from the link itself) --- on this list there is the official Star Z2 Rom do not forget to write down the 4 digit password you will need that code to unzip/unrar file as archives are password protected.
used them to unbrick my jiayu G3T now working flawlessly

Battery life is poor, less than one day if you use it a bit intensively

I am finding this phone very good and with good consistent Benchmarking scores
The only thing that is holding this phone back is the Firmware wold love to have a kitkat or Android L Roms available for it and an easy to install recovery for it.
The question is where can i find such things?
it is brilliant and the snap in cover that came with it is very good at protecting it from falls dropped it already 5x and still works and still looks good!!
Tengda Z2 brick revival
Hey guys,
this ROM ( bit.ly/TengdaZ2ROM ) is actually a backup I found on 4pda.ru after I bricked my Tengda Z2 phone using the Star Z2 ROM I found here. It can be flashed using SP flash tool v5 or higher.
Another ROM link: needrom.com/download/tengda-z2-rom-backup/
There are two (or maybe even more?) versions of this phone. One has 1280x720p LCD and the second one (the one I received from Pandawill... sadly) has only 854x480p LCD... That's the reason why any Star Z2 ROM may brick your Tengda Z2. It's actually not bricked, but the Star Z2 has different LCD driver, so it's LCD is blank after flashing it.
Because it's someone's backup, use recovery or your Tengda's menu to perform data wipe/factory reset. I had wifi issue (there was no mac adress in my phone after flashing it), but the factory settings solved it.
There may also be a problem with your IMEI number, in that case, write your IMEI numbers down on a paper and then use this way to change them:
Get MTKDroidTools, use them to root your phone and installing the Mobile Uncle Tools (using the SuperUser button in MTKDroidTools) in your Tengda Z2. There is a plenty of howto's on the net or YouTube so I'm not going to write the whole process. It's really easy. When you're in the MTKDroidTools, I also recommned you to use "delete chinnese files" button, It will make your phone work smoother.
Then use this method (coppied from XDA, can't find the original thread so sorry):
1- Rooted MTK Smartphone
2- Mobile Uncle Tools from Google play store.
3- Install it and goto Engineer Mode
4- Select Engineer mode[MTK]
5- Under Connectivity Tab go to CDS information
6- Select Radio Information
7- Select Phone1 (for the first imei)
8- at the top there is a command line which begins “AT+” just type there “AT +EGMR=1,7,”IMEI_1″ (instead of IMEI_1 put your first imei number)
9- hit send command
10- You will / may get a confirmation that "sent to mSend".
11-Now come back and select “Phone2″
12-at the top there is a command line which begins “AT+” just type there “AT +EGMR=1,10,”IMEI_2″ (instead of IMEI_2 put your second imei number)
13-Then just reboot the phone.
14-Dial ” *#06#” to Check Imei.
That's all, your phone should be working as before, or even better if you use the delete chinese files in MTKDroidTools :good:

I'm looking for some sort of stock/generic ROM for Brazilian market. Mine has a Claro ROM and Id like not to have many softwares that comes from the carrier. Also, I've seen images of brazilian mobiles w/ 2.3.4 and mine has 2.3.3.......

I am looking for 2.3 ROM as long as it has english interface and come with Android apps... I shouldn't have flash the China ROM since it come with crap load of useless apps and no Google apps (market, gmail, maps) at all!!

guys i found a way to do it, my moto xt316 is now using 2.3.4 and rooted and link2sd so i have normally 7x mb in ram, and it's very smooth
i also have my google apps installed, gmail, calendar etc are functioning, unfortunately the market is still out of luck, crashed immediately after launched.
is there any one like to know the procedure? if yes i can share something. Honestly i think many people might have switched to some other higher-end phone because the xt316 with original moto rom is TERRIBLE....i only had about 2x mb ram

your phone will reboot 3 times. After the 1st reboot, please check if the 2nd reboot starts automatically, if not, unplug the USB cable and plug it again, step 5 complete when the 3rd reboot is done.
6. Go into SuperOneClick folder, run SuperOneClick.exe, press Root.
After it says it is completed, check if you have the Skull Android icon in the menu, if yes, your phone has been rooted.
7. Google GMS pack: http://hotfile.com/dl/143237519/5b4a135/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip.html
7.1 download and copy the above file to the root of your sdcard
7.2 reboot into recovery mode, install / update by this file, reboot phone, google service is ready.

Thanks for the instruction indeed. i managed to root my 2.3.4 by this method. Any advices on how to make more available ram? The best would be to create a swap partition, but swapper doesn't work for me. I read, that not all kernel version supports swap. Is that true? if so, what to do then?

This thread is for all those people with the Goophone that isn't like the others. The ugly duckling - so to speak.
I purchased a goophone i5 from "efit" from dhgate.com after watching mayianjay's Youtube videos.

Unfortunately the phone WASN'T the same as mayianjay's and NONE of his rom's work with this particular model, even further I couldn't find a CWM or TWRP recovery.img anywhere on the internet that was compatible with this phone, so I thought I'd help out my new friends of XDA and provide you guys with as much information as possible.
The phone model information is as follows (according to Android System Info.apk).
Android Version: 4.2.1
CPU: MT6575
CPU Hardware: MT6577
CPU HardwareP1: MT6575
Resolution: 480 x 854
DPI: 240
Brand: MZ
Device: E939
Model:iphone 5
Now, if this is what your phone looks like then I have good news for you - as you are almost certainly wondering where to find a recovery.img - See the attachment below. You will need flash tools which you can downloaded here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/private.php?do=showpm&pmid=10599596, alternatively you can try using MobileUncle. For this particular model you just have to have the phone off before commencing the flash with flash tools.
The recovery image provided comes with TWRP and if it STILL doesn't work for you then your only other option is building your own - which can be found reading my dear friend yuweng's post here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825722&page=1 - There are alot of tutorials on his post and you can learn much on your endeavor to flashing your phone :victory:

Thanks guy for the hard work.
I'm having no problem with my 3G connection out of the box.
But the GPS is not functioning at all.
All you need to do is edit the updater-script and remove those assert lines. That won't overwrite boot.img (which contains the kernel) but it'll allow the ROM to finish its install and you can make a try to see if it works or not. Maybe there's another way to flash boot.img...

Ah I see, I did hear there was a few GPS bugs but they can be fixed apparently, see that Goophone i5 lite rom thread I think this phone has the wrong 3G cell bands for my area (Australia VIC), Even though it says it supports it on the site.. :/ Looks like I'm doomed with the 3G Bug, I've tried copying the APN settings from one phone to another and all. Anyway no problem!

I also have this phone. (Goophone i5 which is MZ E939 model) and my 3G is stuck as well. I did the same thing you did friend - copy the APN's from my samsung galaxy which works perfeclty with 3G and APN's setting. When APN's appeared in goophone menu I was able to listed my GSM providers and I could choose this one I have SIM card inside. Neverthless during the connection I recieve "Unable to connect, try again later"
I did some tests using different apps and all shows that 3G 900mhz is working and is ON. But no success in connecting. It is really annoying when you have your smartfon offline - almost useless
I have the same problem with custom ROMs too. No way to install them - using ROM manager or SP flash tool. - always some error appears.
I tried to install the ROM then it say cannot find path to emmc something like that...

Just reset to factory setting and it will come back...

Now I see my phone is slower and the playstore opens but gives me an error when It installs some app (error code 110) which fails eventually.

I did the same mistake, someone please help me.
Ok after a bit of research it turns out, efit has given incorrect information about the phone, the phone isn't goophone, its thunderbird i5
Whoever has the stock rom on thunderbird i5 , just follow the guidelines from the link below

Same here, However I'm able to go to recovery menu, I'm using CWM.

I got into the recovery mode of TWRP but nothing I can do...
And even funny is that my phone can't detect the SD card...
So even with a ROM also I don't know how to flash it...

Anybody who blocked phone on apple logo or install wrong ROM or anything please try this solution:
wait till phones battery is fully uncharged then plug the phone to charger wait some minutes and press VOL - (minus) together with power button
After few seconds some menu will appears (more or less RECOVERY look like)
Choose CLEAR FLASH option using "MENU" button...
Phone should starts with factory menu and settings.
I did it about ten times and works perfectly in my goophone e939 or whatever it is...

That's a fake phone for sure. It exists as "JiaYu G5S+" also on AliExpress. Same front with no brand name (first sign of a fake) but different brand names on the back cover. I bet you got it in a blue box also labelled only "Smart Phone"? Funny phone really. I wish I had one to play with to see what kind of apk's it contains to fake AnTuTu score and device info. It also fools CPU-Z to display totally fake hardware info. Did you try CF-Bench? That phone exists as a no fake 80-90$ Elephone P6i. Elephone has a HK based homepage with ROMs and links to other ROMs. Possibly also a MIUI ROM.

Yes, I said it exists as Elephone P6i, wich has those specifications you list. If that hardware is packaged under the name Elephone or Mijue doesn't matter, the inside is manufactured by a few larger OEM factories for all such brands in China. The same inside as the fake Lenovo S850C in this thread exists as Landvo, Star, KingSing, Zoppo and so on also (with very few small variations). These low budget smart phones usually have that in common that a benchmark app will label the manufacturer as "Alps" and/or the firmware as …alps…
Like I wrote in my previous post in this thread, if you have that fake Lenovo S850C you can flash the ROMs for Elephone P6i from the links I posted. There is even a MIUI ROM for that phone, or at least that is what I have been told by people in the business in China. Use Chrome with autotranslation on if you come to a Chinese page (unless you speak Chinese).

I have not read much about how to 'cook', but I have done some testing, I flashed the system.img other devices and some have worked, not with all the operating hardware, but have started.
Now it is studying to prepare a rom for the device (and I managed to put the CWM recovery v5).

Sorry, I have not identified your model. I do not know how to get it working again.
If you made the backup phone can try to recover it.
To put the rom, it worked for me connect my phone to pc without battery and hold the volume +, hold immediately after connecting the battery button. MTKDroid recognizes and begins to download the files.

What did you do with your phone when you bricked it?
That's a fake Lenovo for sure but in a new version that I have not seen before. It has another home button than the usual fake S850C.
But I guess it's the usual fake S850C hardware with a slightly different exterior. It looks more like a Samsung ripoff than an iPhone ripoff.
You should try to flash the ROMs in this thread or go to the Elephone homepage and look for info there. There are instructions for flashing on the Elephone homepage also.
It's very hard to really brick a MediaTek SoC. If I guess right your phone has a MT6582, not a MT6592. It can be an older MT6577 also and then the MT6582 ROM in this thread won't work.
Install the proper MTK drivers in your Win PC and then use SP Flash Tool for flashing (better than MTKDroidTools). The phone must be switched off (not standby, it must be really off) when you flash. Remove the battery to be sure. If you flash the wrong ROM you will only soft-brick the phone, so no big worry.
There is more info in the fake Jiayu G5S+ thread (also the same as Elephone P6i). I suggest you to read that whole thread. You have everything there (probably).

I was lucky to first make a backup with MTKDroid Tools and prepare for FlashTools, with that could resurrect.
I tried to put the rom of elephone p6i and the phone was unusable. Not even picked load, I thought it was broken.
With no reference model I had, I searched several forums as people did to 'revive'. Trying things that I read, and end with a mixture of several got to come back to life.
The most difficult for me is to find ways that FlashTools should recognize the phone to download the rom. From that moment the phone began to work, and now I'm reading to cook a rom for the device.
You have to keep in mind if you use windows 7, XP, windows 8.1 ... to install the drivers, then see which way the mode for firmware (dfu) is activated on your phone ... From what I read many models share the method to enter dfu, look at my previous post and try to see if it works.
If you do not have the backup, I think the first would find someone who may have or who has risen somewhere.
Also if you can find the phone that is clone, you can serve the rom of this. I think that is where you should focus your efforts.
I started looking for the info of MTKDroidTools (MTK6582, 1Gb Ram., android version, kernel version...), then added the type of display you thought was (FWVGA), ... and reviewing photos phones until I gave with which was the original ..., but I don't found a stock rom for this phone. I also helped another user uploaded a copy of the rom terminal in the post (thanks morpheubr).
All this adds patience, I had the phone as you and the end has come back to life. Good luck.

I just bought this phone and I was surprised by the complete lack of support almost anywhere. It's like the device doesn't exist. I want to give it a chance but if things remained the same, I'll have to sell it.

I want to root too. How do people initiate.
The Black Shark is fairly new. Especially the Global Version.
Since it is also quite hard to get you need to have patience.
As for the Global Version i already posted a Solution on how to unlock the Bootloader here.
For the Chinese Version there is no known way how to do it currently. There are a few guides online claiming how to do it but its not working according to some Posts.
So till someone with deeper knowledge of TWRP Programming comes around the corner i guess we are unlucky regarding Root/TWRP.

I can confirm, these are very generic guides... Unfortunately our phone doesn't get unlocked like a normal Xiaomi.

It was just luck. I checked a few sides and on one i found different commands. One being the Unlock code i used. Which is a generic code.

So i wrote a Mail to the BlackShark Team a few days ago and received this as answer:
I bought the Global Version of the Black Shark 1 month ago.
It is a really great Phone but a few things are missing imho.
First of all i would like to achieve root access but to gain this i would either need a boot.img File or the complete Global ROM. But unfortunately it seems not to be open Source. Also i would like to have TWRP so if any issues arise i would like to make a complete Full Backup of the Phone including System and Stuff before installing any new OS Updates to avoid data loss.
I already figured out how to unlock the Bootloader for the Global Device but it seems it is different for people with the Chinese Version where some people also would like to have root and install the Global Rom on their SKR-A0.
So coming to my questions.
Could you send me the Boot.img or the complete Global ROM so i could patch it to get Root?
What is the way to unlock the Bootloader on the Chinese Version?
Using Fastboot flashing unlock like for the Global Version returns
Failed <Unlock is not allowed on device has sales on market!>
What does this mean? Is the Unlock not allowed till the chinese version is not sold anymore?
Even if the answer to all questions is no thats not possible i would love to get a response.

I doubt that it will help since i never got a reply per Mail. The reply was given to me in the Facebook Chat of the Global Facebook Page.
I would suggest either asking the Seller for it as written in the response or trying to write to the BlackShark Chinese FB Page. Since you have the Chinese Version.

Hi, yes i know that that might brick the device and void my waranty. The device is working good currently but i need root and the full backup for various reasons. To backup some apps i need access to /data which i currently not have without root. I also need to read and write some system variables for apps which is not working without root. Unfortunately nor Blackshark or the Seller want to provide me with the Image.
As of now there is a new Update for the Chinese Version available called G66X1811300CN00MPX
If anyone with a CN Version of the Phone would like to try to get me the Logs i might be able to grep the ROM or Update from the Servers.
To get the Logs do the following:
Go to Settings/System/About the Phone and tap on Build-Number till it says you are a dev now.
Then unter Settings/System and check under System Updates for the new Update.
While its downloading go to Settings/System/Developer Options and click on Take bug report.
Choose Interactive Report and click on Report at the bottom.
After a while it will tell you that the Log is finished. You can then send it per mail or save it on your device.
Then Download it to your Desktop or upload it directly to Google Drive or something and send me a link.

Alright. New stuuuuuuff. Today i received an OTA Update on my Shark. Which i could succesfully download to my Computer.

With that i was able to extract the ZIP File which gave me the following Files.

New news. After bugging the guys over in the original Blackshark Forums like hell and on FB too. They created a Ticket with the Feature Request for Rooting. Maybe something will come out of that.
As for the files from the update. There is no Boot.img in there. Only a boot.img.p (Ty to osm0sis for figuring that out) which is a binary patch for the actual boot.img.

Hi my friends. Please I need your help. I have a box TX3 mini (S905W) with 2GB RAM / 16GB internal. The board is blue (maybe clone/generic) and was release on march 2019. I tried to load many firmware like Aidan's ROM or atvX v4 but unsuccessful, always fail, stops after 7% with error " [0x32030201]Uboot/Get result/DiskInitial error". The only firmware that I could install was AndroidTV_7_S905W_Bluetooth_Tue_Minh_20190320.zip from a vietnamese website HERE.
Is there anything else that I can do for install any ATV 9 ROM? And how?

I heard people say sometime the usb on its own does not have enough power, maybe after connecting the usb cable and when burning tool detects your box, add the normal power cable if you haven't done so in the past.
Not sure if my tx3 mini is same as yours cause I did not open it. I ran specdevice and established that my tx3 mini had different wifi than most (9012p). I used this ATV9 of Aidan:

Hi again. I don't had luck @asegura074 and @enerdude both firmware not working. @idanmacgregor rom and slimbox bricked my box.
But finally I identified my box. The board is CS_905W_TX_3D_V1.3. I think is NAND 3D here the images.
And my WIFI/BT specs are odd. The specdevice show me dwc3 on wifi and bt only yes.
Is it possible to install ATV 9 firmware for this NAND 3D? how? I think that's the problem

Form the 2nd picture it seems you have a 8723 wifi chip. Maybe @idanmacgregor can comment whether his rom would work?

Did you tried aidian's rtl8723bs firmware ?

@asegura074 I tried and I brick my tv box again. I think is the NAND 3D. I can only install ATV 7.1.2. Any clue about this board?

You are right it is the 3D nand, i beleve its an issue with the amlogic bootloader or the 4.XX kernel bot supporting 3D Nand, unfortunatley you will probably be stuck on amdroid 7.1.2 maximum

@aidanmacgregor thanks for reply. Well I suppose that I need to live with ATV 7 but the version that I installed have so many bugs like bt, tv remote, chromecast built, clock and more.
Does anybody know a stable firmware version of ATV 7.1.2 for my board with 3D nand? Thanks for advance

BT may be fixable by replacing libbtvendor.so file, remote is easier to fix on android 7 as it accepts remote.conf files, this can ne taken from another rom your remote works in like the stock rom

In other Forum they say the best way for this board is using burncarnd maker open the burncard maker , select the drive letter drive the sdcard then select the options like the picture select the file aml_upgrade_package.img, click Make. this will prepare a Sdcard with the upgrade image, once is done place the Sdcard in the box and reboot into recovery

I got the exact same TV revision lmfao
I've been researching a lot, and it seems the reason why ROMs don't work for our box is because of the 3D NAND chip (TX_"3D"_v1.3). Literally all the other ROMs are made for eMMC
I wasted my time trying every single A9 ROM on planet Earth (atvX, aidan, poison, etc.) to no avail
Mind if you could send over the stock ROM? My box's preddy bricked atm. Mega or sth would be good
Edit: Unbricked the damn thing using this
Also yes burncardmaker seems to be the best way to get this fixed
Hey members, am happy to be here all along i have been trying to get the firmware that can bring back to life my Tx3mini (CS_905W_TX_3D_V1.3) but all in vain. Could there be a good Samaritan & forward me the firmware that is compatible with this very board... Stock ROM or custom rom i will be thankfull.
For now the Android box led screen only shows "BOOT" when there is nothing on the tv screen... Help help.. It got bricked in 2018 we are in 2023 some one come to my rescue
