Looking for an app that when I am at home and on my PC, I can receive and interact (mark SMS as read, dismiss Twitter notification, etc.) with all notifications (SMS, Twitter, Hangouts, etc.). Anyone have any suggestions? I tried THIS app but you could not interact with any notification.
Pushbullet works well, but you need google chrome to be installed on your PC.
P.S. : You posted in the wrong section

For some reason I keep getting two email notifications, one from yahoo and one from the @ symbol. Under accounts I see my email with the @ symbol so I try pressing remove account but it doesn't do anything so I press on it and im unable to change the username and its blank. Try just entering the password but says I need to enter the username

Open the @email app, go to settings, uncheck notifications. Then you should only get email notifications from your Yahoo app.

You are using the 'Yahoo Mail' app right? The @email app and the Yahoo email app have different settings lists. Uncheck the notification option for whichever one you dont want notifications from, the other should stay checked and continue to notify you. If you are getting duplicate notifications it is because you have told 2 apps to notify you.
All I see is the @email app. Whys that? I still get email notifications from the yahoo app but I can't find the app

I downloaded the app myself, and found it in alphabetical order under M in my app drawer, right next to Google Maps. Its a blue icon w/ an envelope on it. You dont see it?
Hey all,
Something tells me you need root access in order to do this, but I figured I'd ask in case there's another, possibly simpler way. Is there a way to get push notifications from third party or sideloaded apps, such as facebook, twitter, breaking news apps, etc?
Thanks!

No =/ it only works for calls, SMS, and gmail. I have a feeling root is needed because on a normal phone with gApps pre-installed, any app from the Market would (normally) send push notifications, and since I'm not rooted yet, I've sideloaded apps such as facebook, facebook messenger, twitter, etc, all which would normally send push notifications.
For example, in fb messenger, when I recieve a message, there's no sound or notification in the notification bar. That's what I want.

Recently moved back to Android after three years with iOS. Purchased the Droid DNA. I am having a few problems with the move, but the main one seems to be lack of instant notifications. I need instant notifications from Twitter, Facebook, and E-Mail. This doesn't seem to be happening. It looks like I am at the mercy of Jelly Bean's AutoSync which syncs like.... every few hours.
Is something broken?
Use a different client for Facebook and Twitter which has instant notifications! Play store has tons of different clients!

Oh, the official clients don't have instant notifications? That's weird. Thanks for the info.

They do have push notifications. Check in their settings.
friendcaster pro is a Facebook client with push notifications, it works really well
I found out the problem is with HTC's E-Mail client. The problem doesn't exist with the default. I had to purchase Enhanced E-Mail, which is working good.
I'll try out Friendcaster Pro, thanks.
Hey, here is my problem:
Facebook and Messenger are always turned on in the background and whenever I connect to the internet I appear online on FB.
Sometimes I want to use the internet without appearing on facebook and receiving messages. I know that I can use the log out option in both FB and Messenger but than I need to re-enter password and re-login with all those questions about syncing my device with FB. I am looking for a solution. Something like 1 button widget that disables/enables facebook in no time. I tried using some firewalls but they took long to work and when I wanted to turn back FB on I had to restart my device.
Any ideas?

yes of course you can chat even without messenger. chat heads wont pop up but once you open the facebook app, you will be receiving notifications in the notification bar.
Hi,
I am searching for a good mail app.
I am receiving many emails from different accounts (approx 6 different accounts) and I would like to have a way to read the emails from the notification panel and mark them as "read" or "delete".
And, in the mail app, the best will be with a consolidated view for unread messages.
I don't want an application that "proxifies" our data (man in the middle; and they have the password of our mailbox).
Which mail app do you use ?
Thank you

Thank you for your answer.
Cloudmagic is quite expensive if I have more than 3 mail accounts; moreover my emails wil be stored on their server -/)
Mail Wise seems nice but not available in Play store for my country. I tried to use MarketEnabler to specify a [US] T Mobile value but stil doesnt work.
If you have any other idea or good app, let met know.
Thank you
K-9 is probably one of the most popular mail apps and it has options for mark read and delete in the notification panel.

I agree, although there are problems with some devices using it, as I experienced. If you also have problems try [email protected] made by the same devs I believe.

Me too agree! Also K9 is open source. You can downloaded from F-Droid market and with APG app you can firm o encrypt your e-mail message.
Also the default mail, which come with android gapp, can mark as read from the notification bar. It depends on your rom version.
