Hi,
hopefully I'm in the right category .. I've downloaded the ATI 3D Driver for the Topaz which really made a big improvement with the Lights.exe that is added to the post for testing... Looking at the message boxes that popup at application start it seems that the new driver really enables hardware acceleration on the device.
Then I created another test application using Qt. First I compiled the "raycasting" demo that was shipped with Qt (now use of OpenGL). It runs at ~11 FPS. Then I changed the sources to use a QtGLWidget for drawing (same App but with use of OpenGL). As it runs with only ~6 FPS it seems to not using the hardware acceleration feature of the device. But what's wrong with the app?
Does the ATI 3D driver just adds hardware acceleration for apps created with use of Microsofts D3D?
Or have I used the wrong libs for linking the Qt sources against so it doesn't use the correct driver on the device?
How do I have to create a application that uses the hardware acceleration on the device? (Use of M$ D3D or OpenGL, which libraries to link against ..)
Greetings BenPA
Hello, what is the name of Flyer's notes app ? I've seen it on the HTC marketing video and it looks really good, but can't seem to find it anywhere at all.
Writing notes, drawing, taking pictures and recording in once is a really good app for taking notes from university sessions.
Is it possible to get this app to other android devices ?
Thx.

It's called Evernote and it really is excellent. There are also versions for other platforms so you can share your notes among multiple devices.
It is not usual Evernote. It is Evernote specifically designed for flyer and jetstream. You can't get it from the market. Evernote for Android doesn't have scribbling feature, audio recording, etc like notes for flyer!
iwansuryo, yes it is as you say.
Nobody has extracted the app from the ROM ? I believe it should be possible.
THe HTC Notes app will not work standalone, its tied into the HTC Sense frame work and requires that to operate
What about devices which do have HTC Sense ? Which are all HTC devices. (HTC Desire HD)
Don't know about other HTC sense devices. I suspect it will break without the stylus support libraries which are in Sense for Tablets. Have never tried it.
Heho
isn't there a community for software development for the evo 3d?
I`ve downloaded the SDK and got the 3DS Examples running well
using eclipse and my shooteru. I would like to programm a small
opengl 3d menu using min3d Framework. (see attachment)
Now i would like to use the code of the s3d demos to display this
menu in 3d, but i wasnt able to use the code for min3d renderer.
So i hoped there is a community for software development for the evo 3d
but don't seem to be.
Any ideas?
Okay, so as i learn my new Evo3D, I came across the ability to stream music from my laptop (wireless) and thats just awesome however I was wondering if there is a way to stream videos from my laptop to my phone. I have a bunch of DVD's on my laptop, and think it be great to stream them over to the phone.
What would i need on my phone in order to play them? Im sure I would have to convert them down (no biggy), but on the phone side how would i get them to play? If all i need is that Watch app, then im SOL, cause i removed that by accident.
I am not rooted, and sorry no plans to either.
Thank in advance for any help
Search for zumocast in this forum or on the market mate. It works well for video apart from 3d ones.

Check out plex in the market... their forums and devs are extremely helpful.
Thanks, the zumocast isnt compatible with the Evo 3d, Im reading up on the Plex, and I also came across QLoud. Videos on my laptop are DivX, AVI so im looking at the apps that will either play them, or convert on the fly.

Vlc stream & convert, that will work..in the market. You can stream over 3g/wifi and it converts on the fly.
is there anything i need to install on my pc, for the VLC stream and convert
Rds... i think u will need to install vlc on ur home computer and enable web interface
Thanks everyone.
The VLC, is a little over top my head, with the set up.
GREAT NEWS though...
I got Zumocast to work just fine, thank you very much Bebida
Now if i could just get the Watch app reinstalled after i removed it for no reason, id be very happy.
Orb on the PC and the Orb app or use mycast.orb.com in the browser of the phone

Just download a ROM from the CDMA thread that has it then pull the watch.apk from system, app using 7 zip then re install or your device. Should work I think???

You can stream medias from PC to phone with Connected media. No need to install other apps..
How about PSM(playstation3 media server) it is a DNLA server, there's one for win/mac/linux, it is pretty much a 1-2-3 setting it up, it streams and if need it mux on the fly, so if lets say the evo doesnt play nice with "example" ACC it will mux the audio to mp3 codec on the fly(cpu heavy on pc). On the evo dont have to download anything, just go to the gallery and there's a lil arrow on top right corner, hit it and navigate to Media Server, and you will see PS3 Media Server, and... bOOM! you get your list of media(you configure the folders on the psm [email protected] side), Google PS3 Media server....pretty easy! been using it to stream all my media to all my DNLA devices!
Edit: If you use Handbrake to add some line-tag to the 3d videos(if you have any), the PSM will stream 3D and your Evo WILL play it on 3D mode automatically with the stock player!! no need to download any apks on the phone, just PSM and Handbrake. Been using that with ubuntu/windows7 flawlessly. (nocturnal 2.5.2 - chad's kernel(new#2) )

I tried that and couldnt get it to work. I found out how to get it back, HTC hub app, create account, confirm account, goto apps and i just downloaded it again. and now its working.
Recently I have been trying to determine whether the atrix supports anti-aliasing in 3d applications. It seems that it does not, as I have yet to see it used in various apps. Also, the chainfire 3d driver says "MSAA not supported by your gpu" - so it seems like it does not. However, in the initial demo videos (before the atrix was released) of both NFS: Shift and Epic Citadel have antialiasing. Also in samurai II the graphics do appear to be antialiased - so this is why I am curious:
Does the atrix support antialiasing?
Tegra 2 doesn’t support MSAA. Apparently you can only use coverage sampling anti-aliasing (CSAA).
Huh, very interesting. CSAA is nvidia's sort of optimized version of MSAA, available through propriety APIs I assume? I am thinking that there is probably no way to make existing apps use CSAA - but is that true? It would be really cool to make an intermediary driver (something like ChainFire 3d) which would let apps utilize CSAA when they would normally on other devices be using MSAA - that would probably involve intercepting API calls and converting them...
Maybe it would be possible to make a plugin for chainfire 3d that would do that - it would be really cool to have tegras built in 5x CSAA work with any app!
Ideas anyone?

Noticed that this got moved: my apologies mod for the wrong section - thank you!
Does anyone have any thoughts on a cf3d plugin? When ChainFire returns I intend to ask him if it is a conceivable idea or not.
