How do i enable this? Don't see it in the EnSec version of settings. Do i need to be on a specific TS firmware to do this?
Having a sports watch that doesn't count your steps when the screen is off is mighty irritating.
"Sports Mode" is one of the 4 "modes" they added in OUI 2.1 which is available to some TrueSmart owners as an OTA.
It is an update that only works on watches with a subset of later TrueSmart firmwares. It adds nothing of significance, really, besides these "modes", which are themselves already available to all via existing settings.
Even if you returned to stock from EnSec, your version of TrueSmart probably could not boot a firmware with OUI 2.1 in it.

Sports Mode turns off the backlight but keeps the screen on, so the device is fully awake.
I am not sure how the screen is to be woken up, I turned off/turned on again.
I did not notice much change in battery compared to full on (with low intensity). Much worse compared to off.
As the GPS works with screen off in May release, I see no use for the Sports Mode
I rather use profiles with Llama, more control and shortcuts from start screen.

I want to get back to Screebl this fall and roll version 3.0. I'm going to focus on updating it to make it more 2.3/3.0+ friendly, and try to spend some time on dealing with the variety of issues that come in the form of "I've installed my own custom ROM on my toaster and Screebl doesn't work", which may mean simplifying things a bit. But I digress.
You guys at xda are the most demanding, critical, unrelenting, inflexible, opinionated crowd that I know of. You're also pretty smart. I'm curious to hear what those of you that use the app want to see in a 3.0 release.
dk
Surprised no one has chimed in here yet. First off I would like to say that Screebl is easily my favourite app, even though I mostly forget it is there. Whenever anyone new to Android asks what apps to install, Screebl is at the top of my list. OK, now that the brown nosing is out of the way...
Note: I have a Samsung Epic, currently running the latest leaked build of GB (EH06 as of writing this).
I would like some clarity on the interaction of Screebl and docks. For some reason I can't seem to figure out if it is ever enabled/disabled correctly while docked.
Ever since I started running GB leaks, Screebl has shot to the top of the battery consumption list. This may not be a Screebl issue, but instead something to do with how GB measures battery performance?
I would be nice to include the option to control time between screen off and screen locking.
A slider for choosing the maintained screen brightness, and/or the option to set it to the phone's default.
The option of a 'night mode', with different settings for maintained screen brightness and screen timeout.
Different settings for timeout while on the lock screen vs homescreen vs apps.
Glad to hear you'll get back to this app soon.
Since I updated my Galaxy S to 2.3.4 it stopped working.
I was so sad about this. Now my phone always turns off the screen without me wanting it to..
Wish you good work on it.
Peace
I have a couple of D2Gs running Gingerbread, since the update to Gingerbread the greatest consumer of battery life is the Display, I regularly see 40-60% usage and often only minutes of actual time on.
It seems to be a conflict between the built-in auto brightness and the Screebl low brightness setting. Low brightness is great except when you pull the phone out of your pocket and need to see something at midday...
I discovered that the Juicedefender brightness control manages to keep the brightness at a super low level most of the time, but still auto brightens the screen when required in bright light.
I guess my feature request would be either to have an option to completely remove the brightness control or to take it over with a system that keeps it on minimum brightness but with an user controllable setting to auto increase the backlight when the light sensor detects a particular value.
Thanks for a great app!
I need to update the docs and settings descriptions, but choosing "min brightness" will defer to the phone's sensor generally. That's what I use on my phones.
Dock stuff has been flaky and needs some revamping. I'm planning on redoing the entire loop and eventing framework for the app. It's gotten crazy complicated with all of the device-specific tweaks and conditions involved.
Support for custom lockscreens would be nice. E.g. disable Screebl when MiLocker is in the foreground. Had to stop using Screebl since I started to use MiLocker becuase I can't stand the stock ugly lockscreen.
Just wanted to give those of you that registered interest in Screebl 3.0 a heads up that I've done a ground-up rewrite of the app. It's in beta now -- not pretty, but the underlying engine should be better in many ways, including:
- more compatible with a larger number of devices (moved the accelerometer usage to more modern APIs)
- better with respect to power consumption
- simplified, removed some of the functionality that just didn't work well (like stillness detection)
Still lots of work and polish left to do, but if you want to play with the latest engine, take a look here:

Let me know what you think!

I just tried Screebl Beta, and noticed that the proximity sensor is always on, even though the checkbox for it is not checked.
They way I can tell, is that with one of my old phones, the proximity sensor actually glows a faint red light when it's on. To save battery, shouldn't the sensor be off if the checkbox is not checked ?
Firstly, let me say thanks on producing a great app. Always my first installation on any new device.
I've had a small issue on my nexus 5, running 4.4.2 where screebl lite and screebl beta keep turning themselves off. It happens roughly once a day and I have to go into settings and re-enable screebl. Its only a niggle, and not worth uninstallation thankfully.
Good luck on Version 3. :victory:
I wasn't in market for smartwatch, but Fit2 automatically came with a recent upgrade to Sammy Note 7 (both are sweet!). Is there any way to force the detailed watch face to stay? I know it could potentially be a battery hog, but I haven't found one yet where I like both the full screen and the scaled back screen. Thanks!

...Settings, Display, and ENABLE - Watch Always On...
I have that one set. There are just 2 screens. When I shake my arm, a detailed watch face pops up with steps, calories, heart rate, etc. Then after a few seconds it switches to a scaled back screen that just shows digital time. I want the detail screen to stay.
ok...this seems like you need a Watchface which just displays the DETAILS of the 24H Log. As you said the display will default back to the WatchFace you have selected. Since the 24H Log isnt a watchface, you need one which just specifically displays the DETAILS info.
I suggest you check out the Galaxy Store, and see if there is something which fits your needs. I have over 300 to select from....i noticed some targeted specifically for fitness group, and prefer to see all their vitals on the watchface. Good luck, sorry couldn't be any more useful.
Exactly, the "watch always on" settings usually display a lighter face.
Samples
Couple of pictures attached. This is an aftermarket downloaded watch face called "Color Circles" or something like that. "Full" is the version I'd really like to see all day, but "Scaled" is what shows after about 5-10 seconds of inactivity. I can only think of one workaround. Does anyone know of a similar aftermarket selection that has a detailed face for the scaled back mode, or does the firmware in the watch only have a minimal amount of fields for designers to pick? Maybe it's a global limitation.

Hi Guys,
Whenever I get a new Android phone, the first app I always load up is Screebl. (Its an app that uses the sensors to keep the screen on when the phone is tilted.)
I've had a look around the windows store but can seem to find anything that functions the same. :crying:
Do you know of an app that can do the same? (or am I being way too optimistic here?)
Thanks in Advance. :highfive:
It's not possible on platform however you can set screen timeout in settings->lock screen to "Never".

That's what I suspected Boston. :highfive:
Android has its faults, but for me, Windows phone and iOS are not in the same league as only Android allows you to use your device how you want.
Yes, Android has more flexibility (especially rooted) but as for mentioned feature it's irrelevant, you can achieve your goal with the standard settings so it's not a point (or I don't understand completely what do you want).
Could you tell me: why do you want this (if it's not a "top secret")?
Screebl is like having a toggle between lock my screen after 5 seconds activity and never lock my screen. When the phone is flat the screen locks quickly. When titled, the screen never locks.
I find its really useful when I'm using my phone and are then disturbed. I simply rest the phone at an angle, knowing I won't have to mess around with security when I return. This sort of functionality is also very good if you know your hands may get messy.
Ahh, OK, I got your point. I had kinda different issue - I'm developer and need to have always unlocked phone during development and regularly locked during normal usage. I solved this issue by using specific registry setting (not available officially) - WP has two different timeouts for working on battery and on DC (but when phone is connected to USB for debugging purposes, it always on charge).
Can't seem to grab the changelog to paste here but it looks like a good update!

Huh? Pace always have AlwaysOnDisplay, what are you taking about? If you get a black screen while screen is locked and you are using a custom APK watchface then you need to uninstall the current version, restart the device and seek for a new version that also works with Stratos firmware 2.3.7.0+, older APKs don't work anymore....
Calories are now much more accurate on my cycle

I think some of them exists in older roms already. ?
How do you disable the sport autostart ? Every time, as I am returning from walking the dog, I get a message saying I have started a walk - about 30 mins after it started
From some other thread:
lfom said:
Latest firmwares for all watches (Pace/Stratos/Verge) introduced "Activity reminders" (also called Sports reminders on Verge) that are supposed to auto-start and auto-stop recording activities, but they have a bug (besides the fact that I don't think they actually work as of now): even if both are disabled by default you must enable and then disable both options in watch Settings -> General or your activity most probably will miss the first initial and final minutes of GPS data. Simply enable both, quit settings then go back and disable them again and it should be fine.

Finally, Thai language support, but it renders text incorrectly in standby screen as it doesn't render upper and lower character, for example, words like "หู้" will be rendered as "ห" in standby screen, but it will be rendered correctly in active screen. Also, its Thai font is too wide.
Do you think that this update is useful?
gps not working
gps is not working after the update for me, did a factory reset but still not working
Apk watchfaces not working correctly with this new rom.
When the watch goes to sleep after x second timeout the screen either goes black or out showes previous wfz watch face or showes correct apk watchface but very grainy.

Same with my elliptic. Went from around 100-130 for an intensive 30-min session to around 420-440, about the same as what the machine actually gives.

Old APK watchfaces should be updated to work with newer firmware (for both Pace and Stratos), check if the developer released a new version.
Only thru LG Bridge app as of this morning but I assume it should also be over the air in the near future.
Downloading at the moment. I'll report if there's anything out of the ordinary.
If anyone has the kdz download link, please post here
Downloading OTA right now!
Came here for comments if I should install or not.
I'm getting the OTA as we speak
---Next day edit---
So mine took a good five minutes start to finish to update.
My phones smother, but I'm not sure that means much since it was stupidly laggy for a 821 previously.
I didn't notice any battery drain but I didn't really leave it alone since I wanted to poke EVERYTHING. Todays the real test for that (adaptive battery PLEASE be magic).
One thing I am noticing is (That seems to also be happening on my G7 One) is what looks like push notifications get multiplied so I'll spend five minutes dismissing the same notification. Both phones run ad block so maybe that's blocking some server that stores receive confirmations.

All the H873 firmwares available here, too.
(Shouldn't matter which carrier version you use. I randomly picked rgs and worked for two firmware upgrades in the past.)
See other thread for use of uppercut + lg bridge to update from a PC usb tether.

It doesn't have the adaptive brightness settings, or is it integrated already in the auto brightness, anyone know?
Also just FYI, I just found out now, if you go to developers settings, there is dark mode(night mode). It works with some Google apps, like play store, it goes well with the lg black theme.

9.0 on my H873 has a slider with auto checkbox.
If you turn it off, brightness stays at whatever you set.
If you turn it on, brightness automatically adjusted based on ambient lighting.
If on auto and you slide the brightness bar brighter or darker, it'll remember this preference and automatically set screen brightness brighter or darker than it would automatically do so.
