Hi,
Ever since updating to 402 firmware & unlocking BL I have noticed a issue with notifications being delayed, I use DoubleTwist alarm app (paid) & set alarm to go off at 9 am, I then wake up thinking I have woken up before the alarm has went off but when I double tap the screen to see the time as soon as the lock screen appears the alarm then goes off & the time is 10:30 am which as you can imagine causes problems with being late, the stock alarm app works fine & goes off at the right time with no issues.
The Calendar app does the same, if I get a reminder then tap snooze for 30 mins it wont notify me again till I unlock the screen & then the app shows the snoozed reminder.
I have done full system reset, wipes etc & cleared data & then uninstalled the DoubleTwist alarm app but the issue still keeps happening.
Any idea's?
Me also facing the same problem seems like we have to wait for the new firmware to fix the bug

Yeah hopefully the 438 firmware will fix the issue, just wondering though if you use stamina mode on with extended standby option enabled?

If you're using Stamina Mode then make sure to include the said app in the exclusion list so that it can run in the background while Stamina is on.
I had to do that in order to stop my smartwatch from disconnecting itself every time I want to view a notification.
Cheers for the reply HussainQ, I do have DT alarm app in the whitelist along with calendar app, calendar sync etc, about 24 apps in the list so far.
What annoys me is that Sony changed stamina mode in 402, before on 55 I could just tap the quick tile to turn it on without having to have extended standby or extended usage enabled ie using the quick tile turned stamina mode on without getting the the cancel/configure box, in 402 now tapping the quick tile brings up that cancel/configure box & stamina mode won't stay on unless I tick extended standby.

Hello,
I am running a gTab with TNT Lite 4.4 and Launcher Pro. I like the setup very much (thanks to all the help found here), but am having problems trying to find an alarm clock app I can set up the way I like.
Ideally, I want an alarm that will open Pandora at a specified time. Barring that, I'd be happy with an app that started the alarm from sleep mode. I don't like leaving the display on all night, even if it's in the "dim" or "night mode". However, it seems that the minute I put the gTab to sleep, the clock stops ticking and the alarm doesn't go off until you wake up the device (the wake updates the clock to the actual time).
Am I nuts, or is there some kind of bug? Are there alarms that will wake up the tablet from sleep? So far I've tried "Alarm Clock Plus" and "AppAlarm Pro" without success.

This is a bug without doubt - what is the point of an alarm that
you have to turn on
YOu might try some of those keepalive programs in the market, but
my experience is that, like most android apps (and android itself
for that matter), they don't really work perfectly.
Here's what I've come up with so far. It seems to be working, although with some caveats.
I installed "Load Monitor" and enabled what they call "Wake Lock" which, according to the FAQ, prevents the tablet from going into a deep sleep. It seems to allow the clock to keep accurate time while screen is off. It also might help people's WiFi issues. I don't know the effect on battery life, but plugging it in while it's on the nightstand isn't a problem.
I've found that Pandora needs to be closed, not paused. Sometimes it'll work when paused, but not always.
I would be happy to hear anyone else suggestions as I'm certainly disappointed in how this is working.
EDIT: Also, you need to have the volume turned up loud enough manually. If you let the app set the volume, it's never loud enough.
App alarm pro is what I use on my phone. It can restart the app if you were using the night before. I use it to wake to Howard on the Sirius XM app and the developer is friendly and responsive. I haven't tried it on the gtab yet as my night stand isn't that big!
I am noticing some problems with my s3 after the official jellybean update. It feels like it has been rushed to the phone. For example it doesn't have the quick reply feature in the notification window. It does for missed calls but not for messages. This is one the most anticipated features for me. Also when watching you tube and you don't want the screen to rotate it now does. I want to lock the rotation so I only get the small video at the top when my phone is on its side. It worked before jellybean update. Also auto brightness has changed. When auto brightness is selected you can manually turn it up with the slider in the notification window and it disables auto brightness and changes to what you set on the slider. Now on jellybean you have to uncheck the auto brightness box and then slide. Little features like this are starting to make me feel like it has been a massive rush to get jellybean on to the s3 which is ironic seen as though it took long enough. I have the international i9300 model s3. Is anybody else noticing the problems I have stated? Does anybody know a way of changing/getting the features? Thanks.
They were definitely to busy with the Note II, I mean come on at least give their flag ship the same/some of the features that a bigger version of the S3 has... That sexy multitasking should have been on the initial jelly bean update.

I know what you mean. The note got great features like the multi window. Apparently that's coming before the new year but I highly doubt that. Are you noticing the same problems I am? Another problem I found is when screen goes off after inactivity you used to be able to press the home button a moment after it goes off and it would turn the screen back on leaving you at the page you was. Now the home button takes you back to the home when you press it. It's annoying you have to go back to the app.

Me too, my problem is the battery with jb lj4
I think there is a few little niggles but overal its pretty much the same.
The autobrightness don't disable automatically now when you adjust the slider as you can now actually adjust the autobrightness brightness, Not sure why though.
Google Now - leaving it active at the mo, but not really found any usefullness from it as yet. The Time home feature is ok, would be good if it actually showed the route I take home - Via motorway, rather than the route through city center which i don't take!!
The new notifcation bar - its ok, nothing major. Expect a bit of all these features will improve over time as well once apps get proper updates. Some work but don't have full functionally - Songpop has no notifications now for example.
Battery Life - I did find that my normal phone use on ISC which included about 50/60 mins worth of calls etc wi-fi left on all the time but only actually connected to wi-fi at home (just 2G & 3G at work) i would have about 55/60% battery life left by the time i got home from work, on Jelly Bean - with the same useage i had about 40/45% left. I am now back to the same as before on ISC, but i didn't disable google now or anything just turned Wi-Fi off when left home and turn it back on when home - results was 55/60% battery remaining a as on ISC. Seems that the Wi-Fi drains when not connected - either it keeps on searching which it might not of done on ISC or its the Google Now doing something (Does say improve location by keeping wifi on - does this even if not connected!!) - Least this way i can still use google now and see how it improves its tags overtime.
I am now using a App called WiFi Timer to automatically switch Wifi on and off when i leave/get home.
Love that it now has voice downloaded so you can text etc with no data connection - find its more accurate now as well!
Never had the small vids on Youtube when rotated phone so not sure about that. Take it disabling autorotate doesn't do this?
Good and Bad
My experience is as follows:
Good:
Sheer speed, no perceivable lag.
A problem I had with only half the SMS notification tone being played (before it cut off) has gone away.
Bad:
Battery drain terrible even when idle. Turning off Google Now, Location Services and Samsung Push Notification fixed this.
When I activate Smart Stay, the screen does not want to turn off 80% of the time - even when I'm not looking at it.
When I wake the phone using the home key, it exits the app I was in. Previously, this would wake the device and return you to the current app (after unlocking). I have a partial work around using the PreHome app; this way the app is still visible underneath the PreHome dialogue box and I just need to press Back to get to my app again.
Widgets, seem to refresh less regularly, particularly Messaging and Gmail widgets which seem to hardly even refresh when I want them too.
Of No Consequence:
The red charging led is a little dimmer when charging.
Overall:
The speed benefits outweigh the niggles - just!

No need for an App. You can do it inbuilt.
Go to Wifi, Menu button and Advanced

Yep i know, but this app is far better as it lets you setup different profiles for mornings, evenings & weekends etc which the inbuilt one don't. :good:
root?
i may just root my phone as i really am not happy with this jellybean update, nothing has really improved for me, if i root it and install a rom like codename all the features like quick reply would be there right?
Hi I am looking for a 'working' flight mod app or widget. I have used several so far but they are not turning off data. Its annoying at night when all is quiet at home to suddenly get a notification coming in. The little plane icon is usually there but the data is still on. So any thoughts on one that works on our phones with a rooted stock rom or modded rom? thanks
You can turn off "data" Settings in 4.2.2 (Settings > More.. > Mobile Network > untick Mobile data) or you can use the default Power Control widget to toggle data on and off..
if thats what you mean...

I'm using SwitchPro Widget setted up as notification panel toggles and it works fine except the torch.
OMG it does not work, didn't noticed before couse i usually untick wifi, data and sync before to set airplaneode on.
So any other app is working?
Thanks for the replies but the real issue still exists that even though the flight mode is activate in settings i am still getting SMS's and emails coming through and this morning when it was switched off there was no data at all coming through, maybe a reboot will fix a few things but that shouldnt be the case, should it?
I did a search for data switch apps and found one that switches off the data so that may do instead of a flight mode one. thanks again for your replies

Hi everyone,
I opened a discussion to understand how Sony Smartband works inside the core.
I don't know if anyone knows exactly, but one functionality that makes me think is the Sleep tracking with Smartband/Lifelog.
I realized that the smartband is capable of capture when we sleep and measure the deep sleep time daily, but anyone know how can it capture this information?
1- I see that the smartband only sees after midnight and so on, some times I sleep at 10pm, but it always marks as 00:00am, is there any way to monitor it more accurate?
2- Another curious feature is, how Smartband knows that I am not in a deep sleep and wake me up during the period I set to wake me up?
Anyone tried to create an app to access these functionalities outside the Lifelog? I would really appreciate that my smartband vibrates in my wrist every time I receive SMS, Whatsapp message and others... and will be best if we can change the vibration for every notification like:
Whatsapp = 1 short vibration
SMS = 1 long vibration
Incoming call = Constant vibrations until I accept or reject the call
Thank you!

Don't you have Smart Connect app installed? You can have your Smartband vibrate for notifications with that app

Hi,
Yes, I have the app, but in my settings just show to vibrate when someone calls me...
Can you show me the path to vibrate when SMS or Whatsapp message arrives?
Thank you

It's the second highest option for me, it reads "notifications". Enable that
Edit: Could you please show a screenshot of your Smartband app?

Now I'm curious in how to improve the sleep measure.
Today I woke up at 06:20 but went to sleep again 5 minutes later, it won't mark the 1 more hour that I slept.
I'm not so happy with this measurement
Maybe you have auto night mode on so it switches to day mode and does not recognize sleep any more? Mine works even when I'm awake whole night in night mode it shows that I have been awake.

Hi,
My night mode is set to 11pm to 9am...
So it's strange that smartband captures just my sleep from midnight, and if I sleep until two hours or more after night mode (11am) it register ok.
The problems are :
I cannot wake up and sleep again
It don't mark my sleep before midnight
Example : if I fall asleep during the evening, it's supposed to capture this sleep time too?
Thank you
From my experience the smartband will only log your sleep time while on sleep mode, which you set to every night at the interval of your choosing. In your case from 11 pm to 9 am.
However you can always shift the smartband from day mode to night mode manually by long pressing the smartband button, it will vibrate and activate night mode at any moment during the day. After changing to night mode it will log your sleep cycle no matter the time of the day, as long as you keep it on night mode. And it's not magic either, I've stayed up late watching TV very still and the smart band thought I was "light sleeping" just because it activated night mode (due to time) and I was not moving much!
And for instance the time you woke up at 6, and the smart band switched to day mode you can just long press the button and it will shift the smart band to night mode again, and register the extra hours you sleep.
Hi Adolfo,
Thank you for your tips.
I was testing the sleep feature and I figured out the same of you.
Sometimes I went to bed and spend hours watching TV, and if I stop to turn over, it marks as light sleep.
Thank you again, from now on I can measure better my sleep and some other features.

Hi,
I have noticed a bug where alarm does not give neither audible nor visual notification while do not disturb mode is on with alarms exception. This was tested on 119 and 128 firmware.
Could anyone test this for me so I know this is not just me?
Regards
Mario

Yes I do, however it does not make any difference if I switch it off. I have reset the clock app even
UPDATE: OK, clearing the cache partition seems to fix the issue

On my side, since few days, on my new MATE10PRO, the alarm notification is always SET ON event if I've no alarm set...I've set ALARM off and on, I've resetted clock app, I've cleared cache partition...nothing works. Do you have any idea ?
Use the Google Clock (download from PlayStore). instead of the native Huawei alarm clock. Make sure you enable all the battery settings under battery / start, enable all the notifications (including making it a priority app) and disable battery optimizations under apps / special access.
Too much work for a simple alarm functionality!! I just got a Mate 10 pro. Not set it up yet. Going through the threads make me wonder if I made the right decision.
Huawei has always been and still kinda is about great hardware (or alternatively good hardware for not so much money) but weird software. Some software features are really great (better than stock Android even: screenshots, gestures, plenty of options in the settings, display color modes, app lock, one handed navigation etc.) but others are just worse than on other phones (e.g. lack of all the smart unlock options, battery saving features preventing widgets from updating or apps from staying open etc., lockscreen notifications not expanding etc). You really have to pay attention to the settings with Huawei phones, especially if its about power saving features because they tend to close apps rather than keeping them open. One thing that EMUI already does better than pretty much any other system (Samsung, LG etc. - except Stock Android) is that it's very smooth and fast and stays fast for a very long time (unlike Samsung phones). Hope this helps with deciding whether you want to keep the phone.
