[Q] Mokee OTA Update - HTC One X+

Hi there,
I am currently running the Mokee OS 4.4.3 enrc2b 140610 on my HOX+. All works fine until I try to update.
No matter to what version I try to update, it always tells me: "/system/framework/core.odex has unexpected contents" when checking system files.
After that:
"E: Error in /data/media/0/mkupdater/OTA-MK(version).zip
(Status 7)
Installtion aborted."
So what can I do? I have Xposed framework installed, disabling it won't help. I didn't mess around with the core.odex myself and I can't think of any app that could be the reason for it. Downloading the OTA updates again didn't help either.
I am open for any help and advices!
Installing the whole OS completly new is the last thing I want to try.

I gonna try that, thank you man!

For Everyone who are unable to use OTA, Just do this, mount and format /system of Mokee from latest CWM, Later flash the Release ROM you have, don't flash gapps ( The release versions consist gapps, don't know about nightly/experimental), Next go to mokee center, download OTA and flash it. It will be successful, now after booting don't remove any system apps, If you don't need just go to TB and Frost them, also don't make any changes to build.prop, Don't flash gapps too

That rom isn't signed.
You need to testsign this first. Or... Did you not install patched recovery?
hello
what i have done is ...
1) installed INSTAROOT
2) Installed ASTRO File manager
3) Copied FLASHREC.apk and recovery-RA-herov1.5.2.img to SD card from PC
4) Installed FLASAHREC via ASTRO File manager
5) Backup and Restore it with recovery-RA-herov1.5.2.img
6) Copied Villian12 to SD Card
7) Went to Root Boot by holding HOME and POWER button
8) WIPE the DATA, DIVCACHE, BATTERY and all things except SD CARD coz couldnt able to do it..it was showing to wipe via adb..ya i have done partition too
9) FLASH UP WITH ZIP UPDATE
10) it started but end up with No Signature (785 files)
INSTALLATION ABORTED
Custom ROMs (such as VR12 for example) should not fail verification. If they do the file is corrupt. You need to redownload it and then retry (just the part of putting it on the SD card and flashing it from the recovery).
Ok. Sounds like recovery is not patched maybe?
Install amonra 1.6.2 and be sure recovery says its version at bottom of screen in recovery

Follow steps 1 to 10 of this guide, and then 11: http://www.villainrom.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=4956#p4956
Then follow section 2 to install your custom rom. Be aware that the link in the guide points to an old version of villainrom, but you can just use a newer rom exactly the same like vr12 or something
Thanks a ton friends

3 UK & androd 2.1 update - Help please
Please can someone please help.
I have an unlocked Orange HTC Hero, and someone loaded a 3 UK Rom Android 1.5, from the web forums, which is supposed to be the same as an Offical one from 3. I'm
not sure if they used "update-hero-generic-2.73.771.73-signed.zip" or update-hero-generic-2.73.771.73-rooted-signed.zip. Does it matter?
I now get the 3 UK OTA update to android 2.1, I want to use this and keep all the 3 stuff, but when I try to install, I get the following;
Build : RA-hero-v1.5.2
Finding update package …
Opening update package …
Verifying update package …
E:No signature (660 files)
E:Verification failed
Installation aborted.
What am I doing wrong? I'm really very new to all this.
Thank you.
I am confused myself, why on earth would you want to use a 3 UK ROM on an Orange network? If anything you wanna be using a WWE ROM...
I'm on the 3 Network (not Orange). Only the handset is an unlocked Orange handset. Any ideas please?

oh right, sorry. Your using a generic ROM there for the one you want to update but on the phone is a 3 ROM. If you wipe it you will loose everything on the phone.
Your gettin verification failed because they are different. 3 ROM on the phone and generic WWE rom what your trying to put on it. You will need to use a 3 UK 2.xx.xx.xx rom first.
The Original Rom was of course Orange.
Now I'm not sure if I have "update-hero-generic-2.73.771.73-signed.zip" or update-hero-generic-2.73.771.73-rooted-signed.zip on the phone right now, from the forums. It's one of them.
The OTA update for 2.1 fails to install - I get the following;
Build : RA-hero-v1.5.2
Finding update package …
Opening update package …
Verifying update package …
E:No signature (660 files)
E:Verification failed

Thanks,
So what are you trying to do? downgrade? the rom from 2.1 to a 1.5 rom?
I want the OTA 2.1 upgrade from 3 Network UK to install, But I get the error already mentioned.

ah, then in that case you will need to try a restore on your rom you have loaded, I get what you mean now. Try a restore/erase phone from the settings menu first, then try the OTA again. You will loose any content on the phone.
If I restore/erase, what Rom will then be on the phone. Wouldn't it then be blank, or would the old Orange come back. How would I get the 3 Rom back on the phone. I'm really confused.

It will restore the ROM loaded but back to default as in what ROM is loaded now but with default settings. It has the 3 ROM on the phone now doesn't it?... Or does it have the Orange ROM on it?
Yes, you are confused. I can tell because you are confusing me too.

New OTA Fail

Downloaded the New OTA, I get this error
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/build.prop", "5c3f9a4d69509d2c8b88850d2a333ae7df255a", "c566a4739016d30834e2ae57784e81c7dbdd6ce9")

DID a hard reset though Android Recovery, and then tried to download the NEW OTA, and during installation got the same error. I am currently on 4.2.7 build 154_6
Right Now trying to RSD 4.3.6, will update
Update: Flashing Build 4.3.6 through RSD failed, I get the screen filled with noise
Update: Flashing 154_5 with RSD Success
system downloaded 4.2.7 OTA, and then Download 4.3.6, all works
BUT it blows i had to do all this.....could Bootstrap recovery be blamed??? i have another photon, that was rooted that same way as this but that one had no bootstrap recovery and the OTA went fine
update: http://www.uploadhere.com/UPPUJTGZNO if people need the 154_5 full SBF
same here, update fails. stock rooted
Download it and as soon as it starts to install, press Volume up AND down, it will tell you whats going on, i had to go all the way back to 154_5 to get it going, hard reset did not work
Do you have bootstrap installed and if so, ever restored a backup?
no bootstrap, just rooted
well try pressing volume up and down and lets see what the error is, sometimes it can be resolved.
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/appaccountandsyncsettings.apk", "96a3dd49051c5b6cf5e31fd080d2f1398157f02c", "485f9b3476f156630d72fcc1564737f2029a40")

I also am just 1 click rooted, during the update it starts and soon goes into the exclamation mark. I don't know what the bootstrap is; I just one click rooted. I have tried to update twice now with no luck...

That means that the build.prop has been modified and does not match what the installer is expecting (hash wise). Should be easily fixed by switching in build.prop from the stock sbf.
I forgot to mention that besides having OCR I have the modified webtop dock software to run from an HDMI cable. Would that be my issue in updating? Is there any way to get the original files (it was really dumb but i just went ahead and deleted them and didnt save them elsewhere before)

Download stock sbf of the version you have. Switch in files that fail hash check with adb or root explorer.
After clicking "Download" button process doesn't start visually but if I trying to check update again I get the message "An update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete". Wipe is done. All stock apps are available. Nothing happens, the update is hanging somewhere in the background. What should I do?

update... mine is downloading now. There is a progress bar in notifications now. I guess just wait it out and maybe it will "unstick" for you
hold your horses and wait for the download to finish.

I tried that, I did modify my build.prop and I had backed up my original one, I also did a hard reset and still got the same error, untill i had to RSD flash 154_5. Question though, How do you extract a build.prop file from a sbf, what do you use to do it?

reboot and see if it helps, or connect to wifi
I also am not able to update to the new OTA.
I receive the following error message:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/SprintOMADMConnMoPlugin.apk", "looongstring1", "loongstring2")
I deleted the .apk file to stop Sprint searching for network at the beginning. I guess that is the reason why its not letting me update. Is there anywhere I can find this file from? Does Sprint/Motorola provide it? Am I screwed?
ROOTING is not the Problem, my other photon had the OCR and updated fine, some of the APKs are getting modified, if nothing goes the last resort might be what i had to do.
Anyone can please provide the methods to extract specific files from sbf, that might help, the SBF would have to be from the current file system as your phone.
I agree. Even in my case, I have deleted an apk which is causing this. Need to find a way to get the apk back or else the previous update is going to be my last

[Q] i747M rom signing

The usb port in my samsug i747M S3 is not working on any pc and my phone is stuck in a bootloop. I need to know if there is anyway to flash in a custom recovery via the stock recovery or flash in a new zip flashable rom through stock recovery.
I have used cygwin kitchen to put together a flashable zip from a odin rom i downloaded online but i keep getting esignature verification failed. After researching this i found that only samsung signed zips are allowed to be flashed in stock recovery. How can i sign my zips and make them appear as Samsung signed? If possible!!

Sorry man, that's pretty much the proverbial rock and a hard place... I'm assuming you already tried the factory reset? There really aren't many options when you are in this situation without getting the USB port fixed (which is soldered, so not the easiest thing to do). You can't flash a custom recovery or rom through the stock 3e recovery. At all. Some phones you can, this isn't one of them. This limits your options to 2 things -
Find an OTA update zip that is the same version or the one that is the next in line of updates such as this:
http://www.androidegis.com/how-to/leaked-jelly-bean-ota-update-for-bell-galaxy-s3-i747m-9-mvlali1/ (but this is older and probably won't work and do not even try if you were 4.3 last and is a leak version - this is just for example purposes only)
or you can try this, though since your boatloader is probably fine, not sure if it will work either:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068
Other than that, your options are JTAG service or fixing the port, which if you are gonna spend the $ for a JTAG service, it'd make more sense to just put that towards the repair and then it will be very easy to reload the OS once that is fixed.

I specifically said that it probably wouldn't work and was only for the idea. That update was a leaked version of 4.1.1. I'm assuming your system is probably newer than that, hence why it wouldn't work. I don't know what update you are on and not sure if there is an OTA that would be helpful even. Just saying in your current situation, there aren't many options.

[Q] Two ROMs trying to load at once?

Hi!
This is my first time ever posting here and although I've found some topics relating to my issue, none have helped me out.
My problem:
I downloaded an app called Flashify.
From the app, I downloaded android 4.4 KitKat because I wanted to update my ROM.
When I booted my phone into recovery (stock <3e>), I clicked on install from SD card, installed the .zip file but I got an error...
It read:
"E:failed to verify whole-signature"
"E:signature verification failed"
"E:update fail and delete temp files"
"formatting /cache..."
Instalation aborted.
Now, if I try to set up my phone again, I'll get as far as the welcome screen and it will always say:
"Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped."
Please help.
I've tryed everything and I can't get rid of that error!
Thank you
Oh by the way, I forgot to give some details
The phone is a Huawei Ascend g330 U8825-1
Android 4.0.4 ICS
Rooted
Running stock everything (or at least it was...)
The file I tryed to install is called: "gapps-kk-20140105-signed-4.4.zip"
Did you even look at a guide on how to update your phone? Actually, I am quite sure you didn't or else you completely misunderstood everything you read. Neither is a good thing when trying to do something complicated like updating your phone unofficially.
1) You can't install a custom rom with stock recovery.
2) You didn't even download a rom - those are the Google Apps that are to be installed along with a custom rom like CyanogenMod.
3) You have to unlock the bootloader to install the custom recovery that will allow you to install updates not signed directly by Huawei.
I suggest you read through this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198908
There are links in the later pages to a version of 4.4.2 from the Modaco forums, as well as links to the original firmware, which you will probably need to re-install if a factory reset doesn't help.

I'm new to all of this and I thought that the app that I downloaded could do it all in one operation.
I wanted to take a chance and see would happen, thinking that any consequences that may occur, could be fixed with a factory reset.
Thanks for the link and the advice.
I'll have a read, now
Is it a serious problem or is there any way to fix it?
I tryed unlocking the Bootloader in DC-Unlocker but to no avail.

Ascend Mate 2: "unable to mount storage" When Flashing Cyanogenmod

Errors While Trying To Install CyanogenMod
I am currently trying to install cyanogenmod on my HAM2. I have an unlocked bootloader, latest version of TWRP installed, and cynogenmod in the root of my sd card. I have cleared my cache, delvik cache, and system as well. However I keep getting an error telling me "unable to mount storage during GUI start up" and the other saying that there was an "error executing updater binary in zip external sdcard cyanogemod." Can someone please assist me as to how to resolve this issue ?
Are you using the correct version of TWRP? You can find it at http://android.cmphys.com/twrp-mt2/ . Also did you update to B322 before flashing.?You can also find instructions here. Its from the PAC thread but it applies to Cyanogenmod as well you can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62508471&postcount=3 . the TWRP version listed in the instructions is the old one but either one should work. There's also videos that show you how to flash TWRP and install Cyanogenmod step by step. You can find them here https://www.youtube.com/user/superbass311 . There's also a starter pack for new users that might be helpful you can find it here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9t_gcL17JqtSnV0eGpiLWpHaWs/view . its mostly text files with links to what you will need. try this and see if this helps any.

Hi Robert, yes I am currently running TWRP 2.8.7.0 right now and yes I was running b322 at the time of install. I followed that same video actually, step by step. I have actually done it twice now, and I still receive the same error. I will go ahead and try the starter pack you gave to me. Ill update soon.
Did you wipe Data as well when you did your wipe? You didn't include it in your original post so I figured I would ask?
Which version ham/2 do you have? CC or stock or what.
Try an older version of CM. I ran into some strange SD card behavior yesterday. Go back a week or so and try to install.

KimTyson is correct. There was an issue. Download an older version of CM and try again. It has been confirmed by three people. I still use 9/17/2015.
Sorry I did not post earlier but using a the version of twrp that was suggested to me actually worked, I am not sure if it was something i did wrong on my part but everything is working fine now
