I have been working on porting 2nd init recovery to my device, LG L70. I have already built cwm for it and tried just placing the rc, prop, fstab, and qcom files in there, then recompiling it and testing. It booted to recovery but when I was there, the little android guy was black and white and also very pixelated and on top of that the recovery seemed to be stuck on an infinite load. This has happened when trying both the cwm I built and the stock recovery.img. If anyone has experienced this problem and would help me or point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
If anyone decides they have an answer or wants to help then you can find me in IRC

I've compiled ClockworkMod Recovery from CyanogenMod sources and I tried to boot into this recovery (via fastboot boot recovery.img) and all I see is that:

Is there any way to repair it?
I can select something from menu (but I don't know what)...
The phone is GSmart G1317D ("Rola").
Edit: If this could help, this phone doesn't have any GPU (MSM7225).
Edit2: I tried again and I see something strange...
You can see the launcher bar at the bottom... It's darker than usual and I can't do anything with it.
Edit3: Ok, I've fixed it.

It would be very useful to describe how did you fix your problem, or what did caused the problem.

No problem - I just had to change branch to ICS and compile recovery from new source - perhaps its older version was broken somehow.
Hey Guys!
So I'm kind of a bit new here but let's get started
So with some past issues coming to mind I was thinking, what if there was a recovery that featured a web browser?
When it comes down to it, it would have to include featuring WiFi connection options and such, I don't really know all too much about how recovery mode works but I figure that if it's possible, it can be done. This sprang from an idea I had earlier about forgetting in which order I'm supposed to flash certain zips. For example, my PC won't recognise my phone via USB, but if I can connect to the internet in recovery to download the flash files I need for my phone
I understand circumstances such as memory usage and partition size requirements, etc. But I just needed some word from the community here at XDA, possibly stir up a discussion, and maybe we could make some innovation!
So, Thoughts on this guys?
Open to thoughts and suggestions
Has this ever been done? I'd like to add this into my own build of TWRP, I'm trying to find commits for this feature on Github but I'm not having anyluck
iam trying hard to get wifi working in recovery mode for a long time. there is everything ready for now, sshd, bash login shell, etc - just my primo wifi wont come up.

Hey all,
Tried installing CyanogenMod 12 on my Sero 7 Pro while following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297246 for files.
I successfully flashed Clockwork mod and had my device rooted. After following the steps in this guide here http://www.androidbeat.com/2015/01/how-to-install-cyanogenmod-cm12-android-device/ for installation, I then tried to install CyanogenMod. Upon doing so, I get hung up on this screen

}
and eventually I receive this message
I'm not able to reboot at all into android as I pretty much have no OS at this point in time. I tried sideloading the .zip on here and I get the same message. I also tried various other ROMs and received the same error message. Pretty sure I messed something up here... :crying: Anyway, if you guys can help me fix this issue, I would really appreciate it. Sorry for the noob question!
Thanks!
Well, seems like I must have installed an old version of CWM or something. Not sure. I decided to try flashing TWRP which worked. I tried again using this loader, and, for some strange reason, it hung up on the same screen. I decided to leave it and walk away just in case. After a few minutes I came back and it successfully installed! :good:
Running CM12 build by Meticulus! (Thanks!)
(Can't post pictures yet since I can't do outside links until 10 posts, but take my word for it! worked!)
Hey guys, after several research and various holes in the water I open this theard to ask if anyone knows a way to get the keyboard used in twrp recovery .. I know, there are keyboards like "hacker's keyboard" but the one used in twrp is simple and looks awsome.
Is there a way to transport it in apk or zip to flash?
Thanks

Hi,
This is probably what you're looking for: https://github.com/mgood7123/TWRP-Team-Win-Recovery-Project-Keyboard/releases. Seems to be in early development.

Hi,
The keyboard itself seems to work, and it doesnt request any permissions, so it should be safe to use. Its just currently incomplete. I typed this post with it.

I think developer didn't complete that app because it has some bugs. Let's wait stable version.
I love the twrp recovery keyboard. Very simple, bright white and dark layout, simply awesome. I have been searching it for long time. Please guys help us to get that keyboard.
Hello ,
After following a rooting tutorial i got stuck at the point i had to update the tablet via the internal storage. I get an error message "Status7- Installation aborded on the update" , ive tried updating with the adb sideloading option but i got the same error. Ive read somewhere that for this device updating would only work id the update.zip is in the internal storage which is impossible now as my tablet wont get past the Androidsystem recovery screen

I hope that link works. I found that while browsing for HP roms. There's plenty of info. Hope it helps.
I don't have a HP tablet, but I have a nvidia shield, and I thought I bricked it so I feel your pain.
