I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which is 3 months old. I was able to fully charge my phone last night as usual with no problems.
However, earlier today I was trying to transfer files from my phone to my laptop using the USB cable, and it came up with a message saying that the USB is not recognized and/or malfunctioning. This was weird because this is the same cable I've been using for months with no problems.
Later, my phone was running low on battery and I tried charging it, but I got the following message:
"The connected charger is incompatible with this phone. To prevent damage to your phone, charging has been stopped. To continue charging, use the original charger and cable that were provided with the phone."
Again, same charger that I've been using for months. My phone is now dead and if I try to turn it on the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo flashes once before the screen goes blank. Also, if I try to charge my phone either with USB or with a wall socket, my phone doesn't seem to be charging but instead vibrates once every three seconds. I have tried my friends' chargers and I have the same vibrating problem. Does anyone have any advice?
Do you know anyone else with an s4? Make sure you can turn your phone on with their charged battery. Sounds like the USB port on your phone got something in it or got damaged somehow. Apparently the USB assembly is pretty easy to replace if it is damage, but no guarantees on that being the issue. As a temporary solution you can get an aftermarket battery and external charger. Anker is cheap and reliable

My phone won't charge from the mains, it will from the pc however, I've tried different plugs and different chargers but nothing works, I am replacing my phone today as it happens (getting galaxy nexus ) but i was giving this to my dad so any ideas guys?
Hi
I have about 6 months old Galaxy S2.
Since yesterday I've been having trouble getting it to charge. Connecting a charger while the phone is on or trying to connect it to the PC doesn't do anything. I've tried different cables and charges (ones that used to work until yesterday).
The only thing that gets it to charge is if I remove the battery, connect the charger, insert the battery. After it runs on its charging fine.
Do you think its a software or hardware issue? Anyone had similar one?
Thanks
For some reason, my battery only wants to charge when it's plugged into my computer. If I plug it into the wall, the battery page displays that it's being charged by USB and not by the AC Adapter that came with it. Plus it charges very slowly, even slower than my computer. When I plug it into my car charger, it doesn't charge at all.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'm gonna charge it for a while and try flashing a new ROM, it started happening since I got on a certain nightly update.

I"m having this problem. Read on another forum that several people were experiencing problems with charging. One guy opened up the phone and noticed that a few pins to the usb port on the phone appeared to be burned/corroded. I went to Verizon today and ordered a replacement. I'm not thrilled about the idea of getting a refurbished phone and may just use the purchase protection from my credit card to get a new one. Not sure if it's something that's been fixed or not or if I'll have the same problem with the replacement phone.... keeping my fingers crossed.
Are you still having the problem?
So I pay £45 a month for my Samsung galaxy mega 6.3 I've had it for a month and a half now and its a lovely phone, works well and everything, however all of a sudden I plug my charger in and it constantly flicks between charging and not charging (the little lightning bolt symbol appears and disappears constantly) whilst the cable is firmly plugged into the phone, this is when the screen started to flash at me and click on things I haven't touched , the most common thing it does is switch on driver mode , the back and options button flash at me and the screen switches on and off rapidly, I've reset the phone and tried a different battery and still the same result, its not as bad now, when I put the charger in this time the screen doesn't go weird it's fine its just my phone will charge but after 5-10 minutes it will stop charging again and I have to go and unplug it and plug it in again, this is seriously annoying so is it a malfunction with the phone? Is It something I've done? Is there an easy way to fix it? I need help please!
Is that the same when you charge your Mega through USB cable from PC? If yes, then it is phone's hardware problem, but if NOT, I would suggest to change charger.
Charging from PC is also possible, but the charging current is about 1/4 th of current from dedicated wall socket charger - the phone is charged although much less intensively.
Nominal charging current from wall socket charger is approx. 1.9 amp so if you need to find new one, choose wisely and accept only charger with 5V 2A specs.
I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with my LG 5. It was fast charging at first, then it didn't. I first noticed it acting up, when I had it plugged into the charger, but it wasn't charging. I tried a different plug and it was charging. I thought was strange, but just chalked it up as a bug. Then I noticed after a Factory Reset, the phone wouldn't detect USB C Cables, wouldn't charge at times unless you un plugged and plugged back in several times, the USB C to USB A adaptor cable, would cause the phone go into a beep loop. It was like I was unpluging and pluggin the cable in several times in a row. When it displays fast charging, it's not charging as fast it should be.
I took it to a repair shop, convinced the charging port was defective and they did some testing and suggested it was the main board. I still think it's possibly the Charging Port Modular. I had no choice to send it off for repair, but I would still like to get some idea of what the problem is, in case the repair company tries to deny my warrenty with some bs claim like water damage or something. The phone itself is about 5 weeks ago, so it's a brand new phone..
Suggestions ?
