I'm running 402 and I thought I read somewhere that there is a release called 438 which addresses the spotty double tap to wake feature.
Is this true?
Are there other fixes in 438?
If it's released already why does it not show up in the update menu?
Thanks in advanced, not new to Android but this is my first Sony phone so I'm just trying to understand their practices.

They've only just started to roll out the update. Some regions get it before others.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I promise I have tried to find a solution prior to posting here.
This morning I have received the notification of software update I guess to JB and I have selected cancel download by mistake. Since then I cannot get the update back on my phone, I have tried scanning for the update and all sorts but nothing seems to work.
Anyone here have any idea how to get the phone back to update? I would prefer not to use kies if possible.
Hi
Menu> settings> about device> system updates?
Or maybe a reboot.

Hi tried both but no luck, thanks for response though
Keep auto update on maybe? If not then dont worry. Its probably just some bug fixes. If your desperate tho maybe you can find the stock rom updated v. And flash it in odin

You're welcome.
If it's any consolation it won't be Jellybean update as the rumour mill suggests there won't be an official JB release until late August.

Jelly bean isnt planned for any device yet. They still havnt released a bug fix update. That comes first until everythings fixed. After that then they update the os v. Its always been like that

If you couldn't download the update manually, just wait. It'll come again in a day or two.
Was about to watch a YouTube video and this popped up. I am not rooted/stock. Anyone else seen this before?

I saw the same thing this morning. I hope Samsung/Sprint hasn't done something to make it even more difficult to root the phone.

If you got to Settings > General > System Update you can uncheck "Auto Update"
Menu/Settings/General tab/Security/Security policy updates

I did locate the security policy updates however no Auto Update can been seen in the menus. If I search for the key words auto update I find it and it's checked. Un checking takes me to the below screen shot. Problem is Un checking won't stick.
Edit: Just realized this is the Sprint Forum for the Note 3. I will ask the question in the T mobile area, sorry.

Yeah, However the N900T does not allow me to disable Auto Updates. Searching for it using keywords brings it up but I cannot uncheck it. They make me Auto Update. LOL

Interesting... I am able to uncheck mine but I am on Sprint.
I'm rooted and I received the same update when I woke up today. Still have root and haven't noticed any issues yet.

I received the 4.4.2 Verizon update and periodically I get a pop-up that wants me to sign up/sign in to the Samsung website and become a member before I can read the privacy policy. Since I do not have access to this policy as I will not sign up/provide marketing and SPAM information to Samsung I have to decline the option each time.
How do I prevent this unreasonably frequent demand for my personal information interfering with my use of my Note 2/Verizon?
Anyone get it yet? I saw a post by android on Google plus saying it will start today.

On Google's site it still says kit Kat is only available on nexus 5 currently so I'm not sure if this is reliable or not.

Well I. About to go to sleep. I'll leave my tablet on overnight and see if it downloads overnight. I hope it does. If not I'll be checking for updates every little but like I'm currently doing with my nexus 5 shipment. It kills me lol

Yup, it's rolling out, time to spam the check for updates button on my sister's N10 since mine is on a custom ROM.

be sure to pull the OTA before you flash it.
I still not get it
btw..that was quite surprising that can get update togather with new version of nexus 7
I miss JBQ.. The OTA is being pushed yet we still have no factory images..
I have my tablet stock rooted. Updating will kill root for me right?

Tried clearing Google services framework and checking for updates 5 times, no luck
Will wait for someone to actually get the update

Yeah Im lurking waiting to see if someone can pull it that way before I start a clear fest myself .. lol
This is strange... Google said that once the 4.4 update is rolled out, it will make the factory images available but I cannot see them on developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Could be because they did not actually start with the OTA yet. Or did they? Anyone here received OTA?

The OTA file itself is in /cache. We don't even need the file, just the sha1 hash which will be in the filename, it'll look like a bunch of letters and numbers. If we have that we can reconstruct the URL and get it ourselves from google.

It's weird, I know some people on unbranded in UK got the update about a month ago. Mines actually with O2 but I'd flashed unbranded 290.

I know. Been looking for the update daily for about a week now. Nothing.
I dont really mind though.......I have an occasional wifi drop out on 290 but nothing else serious. Also with my ZU I have held back on root/unlocking bootloader just because............it kinda does everything well without root! I remember a video by Adrian that eventually android would get to such a stage that root wouldn't be needed anymore (apart from customization). Maybe we are seeing the first step of that with sonys firmware? Obviously touchwiz, sense etc are different but Sony is pretty close to stock.

Same here, rooting disables my banking app so reverted to stock but actually I'm very happy with stock. Touchwizz just Sucks balls full stop, you have to root.

No. Its not an intended release for generic users.
An open source archive build is basically Sony providing all the tools necessary to build a kernel and perhaps start cooking up ROMs. Depends on what they include.
Just talked to Sony mobile support and they told me an update is starting rolling out today. Should fix several things, in my case the audio issue I have.

Weird thing is, no ptcrb submission for the new firmware version. But let's hope it's really happening.

If you check ptcrb.com, usually every new firmware is listed there first for every handset type. But i think this one is really a bugfix version.
