Finally, I am making this a Dev project. And because of the internet connection from China to XDA Servers, I might not be able to upload all the previous kernels as fast as you think. I will try my best.
All the kernels are directly repacked from Sony stock kernel, or compiled from Sony kernel source.
It works for all C68xx devices with stock FW.

just curious, can i use this kernel with .757 fw? thanks!
^^ you want to try and run android 4.4.4 kernel on Android 4.4.2? Unless a fan of bootloops I wouldn't bother (but I may be wrong lol)

Full root? I am running latest firmware, stock, relocked boot loader and rooted. I can change and replace system files. Do I still have partial root?
depends how you rooted, if easyroot then it is full root as that has ric kill too.

@zaxharu use the ftf - as far as I'm aware no one has bothered making a stock kernel non recovery version (as the ftf is this already)
It looks like X reality is broken
Sry OT @jackie099 et al, are you running the above in the adb path (or not, looks like desktop)

This sound bug is really annoying!
Thank you, this helped me get full root, "thank" button hit

Steps (only for bootloader unlocked ZU's running 14.2.A.1.136):
1. Download and copy the latest SuperSU zip to your internal memory/SD card: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
2. Download my fixed kernel with dual recoveries from here: https://db.tt/0HagsJRy (The recoveries are taken from @[NUT]'s XZDualRecovery. All credits go to him.)
3. (If you already have 4.3, skip this step) Download and flash 14.2.A.1.136. The FTF's for different models are available in General and Android Development sections.
4. Once the FTF is flashed correctly, flash the downloaded kernel image from Step 2 using this fastboot command: "fastboot flash boot kernel-136-dual.img"
5. Reboot the phone ("fastboot reboot"). When the Sony logo appears and the LED turns violet, hold volume up until you get into Philz Touch [OR] hold volume down to enter TWRP.
6. Flash the SuperSU zip from Step 1.
7. Reboot and you're done.
IMPORTANT: If you use "Xposed Framework", you need this version for it to work on 4.3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48484642&postcount=6846

It most likely does since I was using a C6833 kernel on my C6802 with no problems. The only difference among the models is the radio; we share the same firmware. Why don't you give it a try and report back?

for anyone who think the root will be kept after re-lock (like we did in .257).. I tested it and the phone won't start.
I re-unlocked the BL with flashtool and the phone boot successfully and still has full root. :good:
@ChillyChan
how to get those navbar in pic in first post.
Excellent work
I'm executing an ric enable script via smanager at boot to turn my partial root to full root (which works) - your solution a lot nicer

SO, you have brought a GPe from the Google Play store. Here are a few things you need to know:
Warning:
Never flash a Sony FTF file to your GPe, it will hard brick it
Warning:
As there is no root exploit for android 5/LP you may want to root and then backup your TA partition BEFORE completing the OTA
Table of Contents:
Tools
Brief summary of steps
Rooting
Back Up TA partition
Unlocking the Bootloader
Rooting (Old method)
Updating the Firmware
Installing & Restoring
ROMs and Kernels
Flashing Custom ROM
Notes on Recovery
Brief summary of steps:
Gain Root
Install 'su' binary
Back Up TA partition
Unlocking the Bootloader
Flash ROM
Tools:
Flashtool, Fastboot and S1 Drivers:
These can be installed from Flashtool by @Androxyde https://github.com/Androxyde/Flashtool and http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
or drivers can be downloaded from https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B25BbZxm93S9V2JQVVlrNUNfQTg&usp=sharing thanks to @Forboding Angel
Root:
Towelroot by geohot
SuperSU by chainfire from the play store
TA:
Trim Area backup
Rooting:
4.4.4:
As of ~20/6/14 we now have a root exploit method for GPe
Please read this thread before doing these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783982
- Go to http://towelroot.com/
- Install APK
- Run APK
- Try this for "device not supported." You'll have to tap the welcome to towel root icon 3 times and change the string to:
1337 0 1 0 4 0
or
1337 0 1 0 5 0
or
1337 0 1 0 6 0
- Click "make it ra1n"
- Wait and Hope
- Done
You will then have to install SU (SuperSU by chainfire from the play store works well)5.x:
Locked Bootloader:
At release the is no way to root Lollipop via exploit. If you want to keep a locked bootloader and need root then stay on 4.4.4
Unlocked Bootloader:
DIY:
Reboot into a custom kernel/recovery (fastboot boot <DooMLoRD's_V2_kernel.img>
hold vol up while connecting the powered off GPe to a PC
Apply update from ADB
adb sideload <path_to_superSU-update.zip>
[/STRIKE]
DooMLoRD Way: (untested by me)
Download DooMLoRD's pre-rooted system and boot .img (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe.../lollipop-5-0-boot-fotakernel-images-t2960269)and flash with
fastboot flash <partition> <partition_image.img>
Back Up TA partition:
The TA partition holds all your unique DRM keys, and X-Reality won't work without it.
Once you lose it, you can't get it back, so back it up and upload it to your Dropbox or something. So how do you backup your TA partition?
• Download this tiny tool on your computer and run it.
Store the TA backup some where safe so you can restore it latter if needed.
Once you have unlocked the BL do another backup of the TA and name it ****-UnLocked.***. This will be handy if you ever need to re-unlock the BL (no wipe of Data)
Unlocking the Bootloader:
This may void you warranty and delete DRM keys Make sure you have backed up your TA partition
To unlock the bootloader of your GPe ZU you can use the same method as for the Sony ZU. Please visit the Sony Developer site and follow the instructions on there to get an unlock code, then use Flashtool to do the unlocking (padlock icon), follow on screen instructions. My last unlock code was never emailed out but it is in the code near the bottom of the Sony confirmation page.
Sony site: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
Flashtool: http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Rooting (Old method & Unlocked BootLoaders):
Warning I don't have a GPe so I haven't tested this myself. Use at your own risk
Once your bootloader is unlocked you can root it.
To root your GPe ZU you will need to flash DooMLorD's GPe Kernel. Flash this kernel and recovery with Flashtool in fastboot mode. Once you have recovery you can flash SuperSU
Download SuperSU to the GPe
Download GPe Kernel to your PC
Turn off the GPe
Fire up Flashtool
Select the lightning bolt and the fastboot mode
At this stage you can either either:
Select "Select kernel to hotboot" to load the kernel but not overwrite the GPe one
or
Select "Select kernel to flash" to flash the kernel and overwrite the GPe one
Select the saved Kernel and flash
Check for OK in the main window
Reboot to recovery
Select install zip
Flash SuperSU
Reboot to system

Flashing Custom ROM:
If you have flashed DooMLorD's kernel in the above rooting step Yo will get a error something like "this if for togari/c6806 you have a honami". If you get this error:
Open up the ROM zip you want to flash and extract the boot.img file.
Flash this file just like you did in the rooting above with flashtool.
Boot into the new recovery
Flash ROM as normal
Reboot into sysyem
Notes on Recovery:
On the xperia (and other sony?) phones we have to bake recovery into the boot.img, the GPe is different in that it has a full stock recovery that the ZU doesn't. The boot.img from ROMs for the GPe still have recovery baked in to the boot image, so flashing a boot.img will give you a custom recovery. In the case of CM and Carbon that is CWM and I think Omni uses TWRP. This custom recovery doesn't overwrite the stock one.Warning:

- Rooted
- Dual recovery installed (CWM/TWRP)
- TA backed up
- Locked bootloader

Question:
Can i just pop in any custom ROM (4.3 or 4.4.2) and just run with it through CWM?
Or do i need to have some other preps done before making these upgrades?
Would appreciate any answers to help with my questions, as there is so much information now that it can get confusing...thanks!

as per my post, i'm on 4.2.2 now, and am looking to flash to a minimum of 4.3, hence my questions (and new one below too)
- will the 4.3 rom for locked bootloader have proper root in it?
- is there a specific thread or (current) instruction that i can refer to?
Here's the stock rooted YNG1TAS2I3 ROM. Includes root(enable in Developer options) and the rest is untouched, so it's OTA update safe
Stock Rooted YNG1TAS2I3 ROM
md5 - 4f3be67f9fc0acf732114d78e331529c
YNG1TAS2I3 Radio, etc - Same as YNG1TAS0YL
md5 - 6d5db5af6c92b814b9a0ebd18341dd8e
F2FS users - Attached zip includes a modified updater-script that needs to be added to the ROM(overwrite updater-script in META-INF\com\google\android folder), which will format the system partition as F2FS. You will also need to overwrite the boot.img with a F2FS compatible one or you can flash it after flashing the ROM
Finally...was waiting for this

but the requirements I don't have:
Checklist:
Quote:
lollipop/marshmallow (stock or stock based) - I have CM 12.1

Flash tool should have a built in firmware downloader. I used it to download a UK based stock LP firmware. So should work for you. Sure it uses XperiaFirm.
Sent from my D6503 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Thanks working~!
