I recently had someone ask me how to, and why to check an MD5, so I thought I would give them this lovely guide. *this is my first guide attempt, but I hope to make more. if you know WAY more about this issue than I do that is OK, feel free to correct me in a polite manner, I do not know everything after all*
MD5 is a checksum that verifies the integrity of a zip or rar or .7zip file. When you make the .zip, .rar, or .7zip file, you make a MD5 number off of that file, or a HASH file, hash code, MD5 code, whatever you want to name it. Anyway, it uses an algorithm to give you this numerical/alphabetical code which you can then compare to your file.
WHY? Well you are transferring this file from device to device, or through the pc, through the internet, through a server, and things can get lost or stolen. Antiviruses can steal pieces, servers, or data loss through the internet can lose pieces, yet the file SEEMS the right size, and can SEEM like it is ok, and in fact, you flash it to your phone and things do not work.
This is a reason I like torrents. They make, and check an MD5 for you, and remove some of the risk of a bad download, however that is for a different guide.
In this guide I use the free, and easy MD5 checker you can get from the play store. I am crazy so I check my md5 on my pc, then again after the transfer to the phone. You may just check it once on the phone, to save time.
Download the file to your phone. Copy the MD5 alpha/numeric. for the guide I had transfered the file from my computer, so I made a .txt file to save the md5 in. The screen shots pretty much speak for themselves... Keep in mind that I was using a beta rom you will have your rom and your rom names. I used root explorer, rb text editor, and MD5checker. Many thanks to those who provided these tools, and this rom I was using in the guide.

Hi guys, I've been reading many topics to "save" my original ROM that came with my HTC TP T7272.
I has already downloaded the itsutilsbin, made the 4 parts of de .RAW files usind "pdocreate" command, and continuing with the proceeding, I separated the Part01 and Part02 to use the Kitchen.
But watch happen, is that there is a part of the process that I have to download a "shiped" file.
"2. Download the WWE BaseROM to use in the reconstruction process here http://rapidshare.com/files/138980371/RUU_Raphael_HTC_WWE_1.90.405.1_Radio_Signed_Raphae l_CRC_52.33.25.17_1.02.25.19_Ship.exe"
I downloaded it too, executed it, and It requires that I connect the phone to the activesync, so I connected and also it said: "NOTE: Making this process you will loose all your files and DATA" in red words
Wtf, I dont want to restart my phone, neither delete my files, I wanna ONLY make a backup of this, including the ROM, DATA, RADIO, all possible, because it I am using what I saw this "Kitchen".
The next step was execute the Kitchen's CMD, It said about "a base .NBH SHIPED FILE" ( I think It means some file of the step below ), asking for paste this NBH file on the BaseROM, that would go my Part01.raw and Part02.raw, to make it before execute the Kitchen.
So, I became afraid of loose all my phone's information and didnt make this .nbh, but I continued with the process, usind the Kitchen and making all, including the BuildOS.
But the RUU_Signed.NBH that was to appear didnt appear, only created some folders, and now I dont know what I do with the others files (Part00.raw and Part02.raw)
HELP ME, PLEASE
I'm already crazy
its so complicated!
unfortunately...
no helps
i would need it, but ok
I personally think you're putting in A LOT of effort, for little gain. Why not go download a stock ROM that matches the version of the one you got on your phone right now and be done with it ? Radio's are no special either... they can AAAAALLL be downloaded from this forum

I think I understand the question. You do not want to execute the file, that will install it on your device. Get 7 zip (google it), install it on your computer, right click the file and will have options for EXTRACTING the file. Extract it to a folder of your choosing and inside will be the RUU_Signed.nbh your looking for. Then copy and paste parts 1 and 2 along with the ruu into your base folder rom inside the kitchen, and continue to follow the directions. Hope that helps
Alrighty, here we goo.
I was looking around for voice to text apps, and I came across one.. called "Tellme"
Now, I as I understand this wasn't exactly made for my LEO-usa.
BUT IT DOES WORK.
I have installed the .cab file for this app, installed it correctly the only way one could do it. Then there was a file I was told to download called NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab.zip
Framework im guessing? But I have a problem, I don't know how to install this.. its a zip file, and when I unzip the file it breaks down the cab structure into 192380192381203981203498712348971230489 freaking FILES!
How do I install a cab file that is compressed into a zip file? if you HD2 users want to try and pickup where I left off, here you go.
do a google search for "tellme for hd2" Click the result that has tmobile's forums on it.
Scroll down the forum replies till you see words and convo's regarding TELLME. and you'll notice there is two files needed, the framework, and the cab file for the app.
I got the app installed, but the NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab confuses me because its a cab file that is in a zip file..
lol, sorry if I'm sounding redundant. but damn.
Heres the two files, I'll attach them below.

no worries. just download the .zip file, then unzip it into the the file "NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab". next copy this file and the tellme.cab file into your phone. run the NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab first and let it install. then follow by the tellme.cab. you're done.
yea, you have unzipped it twice, because winzip/winrar also see the .cab as a cabinet, or zip file, and opens it, when in fact that whole file is the windows mobile installer. extract the single cab file to desktop, copy it to your phone, click it in explorer on your phone.
Alrighty, I tried what you said..
I got the .cab file for the NET stuff on the device, attempted installation and it failed at the end, told me to close out of apps, and clear device space?
I have a little short of 1gb of Device memory left, and task manager did not have anything running.
Is it perhaps the ROM im using? I'm using the Energy ROM.
bumppp.
Apologies in advance if this has been posted somewhere. I've searched XDA, Google, and gone through stickies on this and other parts of the XDA forum and wasn't able to find my answer.
AT&T has an APK (WISPr.apk) that it includes with the stock devices when it sells them, which allows the user to connect to ATT wifi hot spots automatically. There are certain ATT wifi hot spots that aren't open to the public for free (i.e. NOT the ATT wifi at starbucks), and are configured such that mobile ATT subscribers with a data plan get free access to the hotspot, but others have to pay. This ATT APK "authenticates" the phone has having an ATT data plan.
Would someone with the latest official release from ATT i777 (Android 4.1.2, UCMD8, released a couple of days ago in June) be able to attach their WISPr.apk file? It should be located in /system/app/WISPR.apk (or something similar to that). (I would do it myself, but would need to un-root, back to stock, update to UCMD8, and then re-root, but I'm new at this and haven't determined a a way that to be sure I can re-root after the upgrade and don't want to stuck without root for a long time)
I'm currently unable to access these non-free ATT hotspots, and the latest APK may solve that problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Download the Odin flashable tar.md5 file. You can find it in the Download Repository at the very bottom (see link in my signature), or at sammobile.com/firmware, or at Samsung-updates.com.
Remove the md5 part of the extension to make the file just a .tar, open it in an archiving program like winzip or 7zip, etc. and extract the file you want.

I have this... its not worked for me so far
This is a windows .bat file that is "protected" and is written to work with Android 11 and half the functions are not the same with the Android 12 ColorOS base version. If the author would have shared it with the .bat file in plain text, someone might have updated it and left his credit and not just stole his work and renamed it.
Not everyone embraces open source ideals.
Yes this work with os11 not for os12
All you have to do is run the exe, then browse to where it extracts the contents to. IE:
c:\Users\<username>\appdata\local\temp
....

You have not dealt with well written .bat file obfuscation. I have the .bat file, but it has been run through a tool that converts the editable ASCII into expressions and different encoded base (x) that are more work to resolve than to re-write the batch file.
Challenge: Make this working executable .bat file plain ascii again.
Your story, tell it like you believe it ;-)
Honestly though, why not look for your self? Ive already done it with this "tool". Not obfuscated at all. If yer having problems finding the files, run the EXE, choose one menu option, go to yer temp DIR and sort the contents by date modified, and with the FILES listed first, scroll down to where it starts listing directories. It will be the first one listed. Have fun!
\\'eird dunno why it didnt attach the file to the previous post. I should have made clear that the file you seek was located in the tmp directory thats created under the parent directory... You seemed to know what you were talking about, so I assumed little to no hand-holding would be needed...
Its worth mentioning that all of these bat2exe tools use the same (or nearly the same..) method for urm ehhh "obfuscation"; IE: upon running the app, it inflates the files to your appdata\local\temp directory. Sometimes the "app" will be password protected, and wont unpack the exe until the correct password is entered. For myself its force of habit to go check my temp dir after running any of these style tool things... And you should too!
