I will use my Galaxy Nexus as a backup phone(and to get my flashing/updated android fix), preordered the One X+ :good:
I'm looking to buy a new phone and I'm stuck between this and the Samsung S3...
I am going to probably get the AT&T version whenever it drops and throw it into my phone rotation. The madness never stops lol

Now to wait until the 22nd.....
Im looking to get the hox again but I saw the newer software is locked. So I was looking for a used one with 1.85. Long story short I saw the info for the one x+. I'm assuming this one will probably be locked as well huh? I'd like to wait and get this one instead but I really want root/flash.
I gotta wait til Feb, but I'm buying the AT&T version off contract. THIS is the "One" I've been waiting for. Lol At least I'll still have my upgrade available to get the next HTC flagship, that will be announced at MWC 2013, when I get my upgrade in August.

are you guys all forgetting about the LG Optimus G? Undoubtedly looks like the best Android phone ever made. Sorry that's just my two cents. Having owned the At&t One X, I will say that was the best phone I have ever used and really couldn't get much better.

I had the Nexus 4 and liked the pure android experience. I am in a dilemma right now on whether or not to sell my ATT HTC One. I'm thinking that since the HTC One Nexus version won't have anything over it, like Sense, that it would run alot more snappier and quicker. Also I would be getting all the updates from Google pretty quickly. The only that holding me back is the hefty price tag. Is anyone else out there also thinking about switching over to the Google Edition of the HTC One? Do you guys think its worth the switch and the hassle I would have to go through, i.e. selling the phone, limited amounts of the phone, delays, etc.? Thanks

What I will tell you is that you probably won't get the selling points that sold the HTC one.
Example: boomsound and blink feed.
HTC One X (Tegra 3)
ROM: Viper X 3.6.1
KERNEL: Viper X stock
CID: HTC_001
NETWORK: O2 UK
If you are willing to root your device I'm 99.9% sure you'll be able to flash the stock Android the nexus version comes with it. So to me there really is no reason to get rid the the ATT One and getting the nexus One

Supposedly some people are speculating that if we get S-off (which we will) well be able to change out CID (and whatever else) so that we'll be able to receive those updates straight from Google. It just wouldn't be worth the hassle to sell your ATT One and then get the Nexus version.

Just remember that the 'nexus' HTC one and the galaxy S4 have very little of their own features due to the lack of HTC Sense of Samsung touchwiz.

Unless you don't want to be bothered with installing ROMS yourself when they come out, there's no reason to switch to the Google Phone. THEY ARE THE SAME DEVICE...
HTC may allow existing HTC One owners to replace Sense with stock Android.
http://bgr.com/2013/05/31/htc-one-stock-android-rom/
Lets simplify this, the ATT Variant is the exact same as the International Dev Variant, which is the exact same as the Google Edition....ATT has an unlocked BL check, ATT can flash international version roms check, the only thing that differs is the CID, if S-OFF and Super-CID get released, you can change the CID to match the Google Edition and boom you have your updates straight from google while having saved 400+ dollars...Also even if you cant change the CID, once and update from google gets pushed, usually within an hr a dev has a TWRP/CWM version available to flash on our device.
Why we keep getting stupid questions like the title of this thread? Its the same exact phone you're on XDA why wouldn't we have a flashable ROM?

So to turn AT&T HTC One into Developer Edition or Nexus Edition and have working OTA (when it released later this month), all we need is
1. S-OFF the phone and change CID
3. Unlock bootloader via HTCDev.com
2. Flash to either Developer Edition or Nexus Edition rom?
AM I missing a step or two?
In anticipation of the official 4.3 release,I figured I would take the liberty to create this thread to discuss the overall performance of the release.
Sounds like someone wants to be Mr. Popular  I keed.
Lol! Not really just sitting here watching my saints take on the bears, and it seemed like a good thing to do.

I'm actually curious how much different it's going to be from the 4.3 AT&T rom I have installed already. I was kind of bummed out when I flashed it and it didn't have the multiple users support that some have said it would have.
So am i! This is really the last stop before I root and modify.with the last update causing issues with obtaining s-off, I'm hoping for a more simplistic result from the update, but not counting on it?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I could be wrong, but I believe multiple user support is tablet only.
The at&t release will not be anything significantly different than what is already available for the international versions/dev editions

Can you provide the quote from MacKenzie? I thought he said sometime this week but didn't specify an exact day.
This doesn't relate to the 4.3 but I went to Bestbuy to check out the Note 3 and was very tempted to get it..but I noticed that the speaker sound quality was horrible. Maybe I'm spoiled with the front facing speakers on the One. I'm waiting for the One Max and from the pictures...It's huge. Hopefully I won't get tempted and jump on the Note 3 even though the speaker sucks.

The one major benefit is a new radio. There has to be. I was on the rooted stock version before the unofficial 4.3 rom and after taking that system update (which updated the LTE bands) my service was crap. I upgraded to the 4.3 update and LTE was improved AND the areas where there wasn't the best service.

Good news for North American buyers. Sony's web store now sells the C6806, new and unlocked, for $449.95 with free ground shipping. Black, white, purpleāall colors can be bought for this price.
With the C6833 available from Asia for that price or less, there's no longer a reason to spend more than $450 on the LTE Z Ultra of your choice.
The problem is which one to get now lol

Have been thinking of getting Z Ultra to be used as tablet for
I wonder if I should buy this phone now. It's between the Samsung Mega and this phone.
However, it's pretty likely the Ultra 2 will be over $600 and if the only difference is more mega pixels, LED flash and a Snapdragon 801 processor then I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Paul that's awesome. Saves a lot of headache and time. Thanks for taking the time to create. I am on the fence on picking up a Google edition or a Sony one. I am leaning towards the Sony edition because it comes in white and the gpe doesn't. Can the C6806 be flashed with vanilla android and made to work like the gpe, I am going t o be going back and forth between my current nexus 5 and the Z ultra.

You're welcome. Anyone is welcome to copy and paste it as a starting point for their own table. Maybe someone can design a better one for a sticky. For example, I've arranged the LTE section's columns in ascending order by bands, not--as some might expect--in ascending order by frequency. I may change that when I get time.
I'll be buying my Z Ultra Google Play Edition from a Craigslist seller in 25 hours for $400 cash. The GPE was a gift and comes in a sealed box. I'll hide the box, so with any luck my wife won't notice I'm using a larger phone.

Hmmmmm.... Where's Steve when we need him? Damn it.
But alright, we should probably make a thread where the GPe owners can give some input (lol) and see how many (100%, that's a fact) want to get some development going on.
The first step would be to make the GPe compatible with the Xperia version. Do you have any idea how hard this would be, @DooMLoRD? I guess we'll need some boot/kernel changes?
