I have omniROM installed on my galaxy R. I also have google drive installed. The drive shows a preview of the PDF file when I select properties. But when I click to open the file, it says no viewer found. If it can show a preview, why cant it open (like it does on desktop)
I have seen Galaxy Nexus openiing the pdf files directly from the drive app.
Can someone clarify this...

I have an Android tablet and my PC running Windows 7 Pro. I am using ES File Explorer on Android to see shared folders.
I added some folders to the Music/Picture/Video libraries and shared them in a homegroup. I tried to make the homegroup not need a password and it'll let me access my PC from my tablet and view the root folders but as soon as I tried to access a folder (Music) it'll say permissions aren't available. It will work if I set a password and login with my account.
The second issue is that I'm seeing folders that I don't want to see. I can see a ADMIN$ folder (which is C:\WINDOWS), C$, D$, E$ (the HDDs), IPC$, print$, User. As well as Music, Pictures, Videos from the library. The folders in bold aren't shared so I don't know why I'm seeing them.
The last issue is that a folder (a whole drive actually) isn't being shared. I included the whole E: Drive in the Videos folder but it won't show up in the Video folder from the tablet. However if I include a folder from within the E: Drive then it will show up. Can I not include the root of a drive in a library? I mean it works on the PC.
I need an app which allow me to sync a folder on my Android phone with my PC. I'm studying online and I've to download pdf notes. Sometimes, I download the notes from my phone and want to read it on my PC. I'd tried Google Drive and Dropbox but there's no function where I can sync folder on my phone. I have to manually upload my notes, which is annoying.
Anyone knows any app?
What I want is:
Download my notes to my phone > store in a folder on my phone > this folder is automatically synced with my PC > I can view this folder on my PC

Check out GammaSync
I developed a free Android app for PC-to-Android folder synchronization, which does not require external cloud storage. It currently supports only one-way synchronization of folders from PC to Android, but I plan to add two-way synchronization soon. Check out GammaSync on the Play Store, maybe you'll find it useful for some other uses

HI All, I have a 2008 Dedoge Service manual, the folder has a file called default.htm, when I open it in windows 10 with popluar browsers like Chrome, firefox, edge etc, the page does open but when you try to open a link nothing is shown on the screen, but it does open a file called blank.htm.
The only way I can get it to work is by using Internet Exploer and hit f12 and changing document mode to 5,7 ,8.
What I am looking for is a way to be able to open this service manual using my android phone/tablet and have it display properly like it does on windows 10 (using internet explorer in DEv mode, document mode to 5).
Is there an android browers that has developer mode and would allow me to change document mode? if so what is it or is there another way to achive this.
Thank you
Der All,
I'm using OnePlus 3T with DivestOs and there is "Files" native android app which allows my to manage Synology Drive as a normal attached server...fantastic!
In my second phone, OnePlus 8 Pro, I have OP File manager and Google Files as stock apps. Both are showing Google Drive only. There is no possibilities to attach Synology Drive.
Question: is there a way to install DivestOs File native app? Or any Android native Files apps File Manager which allows me to see Synology drive.
Thanks

Look up Mixplorer.
i have a usb drive with various image folders .
The 'My Files' app can see the USB drive and all the folders and images and can open them all but the "gallery' app can not see them.
i also tried 'Simple gallery' app and 'Slideshow' app and they can not see the drive.
why is this , am i doing something wrong? why would a usb drive not be open to any 'Gallery' app?
Am i missing something?
Thank you
The Gallery app only scans for images in the internal storage or an inserted microSD card.
thanks for the reply,
is there any other image app that will read from usb drive. I would like to play a slideshow from the usb drive folders.
thank you
You can use My Files to navigate to the folder on the USB drive. Then tap the image you want to display. It should ask you which app you want to use, select Gallery and it will open in Gallery. If there are multiple images in the folder you can swipe left or right to display the next or previous image.
When it asks you which app, it will also ask you if you want to make it the default (Always) or to ask each time (Just once).
thanks again for the reply, but i really do want to play a slideshow from the usb drive. I can view the files in my files no problem.
is their an app that can play a slideshow from usb drive on android?
thank you
There isn't an app. The steps I described will work. I've tried them.
thanks but what you describe is not slideshow as such, its a manual moving from image to image. not the same. so from what you are saying there is no way to do a slideshow from a usb drive on an android.
thanks

PowerPoint will do what you ask, but you have to create the slide show first. It won't do it from a folder containing folders.
