So I was trying to root the samsung galaxy mega from sprint and i saw a form that said to use vcoreroot-v2.tar file and to put it on the device using odin as a pda. i did that and now its stuck in the start up displaying the logo and and just sits there. In the vcoreroot-v2.tar file it contained a boot.img file so if anyone has a stock rom or the stock boot.img for the SPH-L600 from sprint in the usa that would be helpful. i have attached the vcoreroot-v2.tar file for reference. thank you very much!!!
Did you ever get the boot.img? What are you currently on? 4.2.2 or 4.4.2?
stock boot

Hi, im new to Galaxy Tab 10.1
Yesterday I made a mistake and flashed a wrong kernel so I lost my 3G on my tab.
Now i have downloaded the european stock ROM from www.samfirmware.com for my tab and I don't know how to flash that files. In the downloaded zip file is a password protected tar file and in this there are some *.img files.
My problem is, with Odin i can't flash *.img files... How do i flash the stock ROM to my tab?
Thanks for your support.
re-stock
There is a very good guide and all the files you need located here: http://p7510.teamovercome.net/?page_id=18
Hope this helps.
Thanks man, you saved my life
You must just load Odin with default settings an load the .tar file on the PDA button. Then start flashing and everything is going right...

I'm having the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Well, you can find backups of most models on the forum. If you want to make your own, it will take some studying. I recommend meticulus's partition dump tool over in the development thread, exelent for someone who doesn't want to do a bunch a adb shell or terminal emulator. here is the link. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450149

Well, an easy way to get CWM is flash a Kernel that is for your version of Galaxy Player. Look on the Development page and you will find a kernel that suites your needs. Very simple to do using Odin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0imhKnMtQ9A
You need to flash a kernel that includes CWM and do a backup in that. Don't use ROM Manager.
CWM Recovery
In the development forms for the Player, there is a CWM flashable .tar you an use.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445840
I used Odin (not my favorite program, but it works) and the flash took a total of 3 seconds. CWM will be installed and you can make a Nandroid for the player. Best of luck.

hi. based on the link, I tried flashing Entropy's kernel, but I can't seem to find the .tar file. I assume that this was what i had to download:-
File Type: tar DD_01142012.tar - [Click for QR Code]
but when I get it, it appears as an extractable winrar file. So I extracted it and got the zImage file, which doesn't have the .tar
Firstly, is that the right file to download?
secondly, if it is the right one, do i extract it or just flash it as it is?
i am using Odin btw. Just rooted my SGP 5.0 using superoneclick

I know how to unbrick my tablet but I cant find the file I need. I need a ROM that can be flashed via odin. I dont care what ROM it is as long as it gets me running. All the ROMS I find are zip files which will not work.
I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10" 16GB Wifi Only (P7510)

Sometimes you need to unzip the roms in order to get a flashable .tar file. Also make sure you download Odin files and not CWM recovery roms.

I think he unpack it, but i can't help you, because i flash only through CWM or Mobile Odin Pro.
MFG Chabstyle
flash problem
I unpacked the file and i put it in to PDA field and flashed it, but it gives me an error "fails" . Previously i flashed it with 4 files including pit file it flashed sucessfully "pass". But this time i don't have an pit file. Is it causing this matter I means the pit file?
What should i do to re flash my phone through odin?
Thank you friends
.pit file is ONLY for repartition, NOT for normal flashing!

What is the extension of the packed and upacked files?
Packed - zip, rar; unpacked - tar, md5; unpacked firmware file - img, no extension.
It's happened to me before and it's been a dodgy download try downloading it again might help

Nice finds, hopefully the developers will start working on a rooted/custom version of the rom and a custom recovery for our tabs.
Need firmware for T237PVPU1BOH7
Any chance you know where to get the stock firmware for my Tab 4 T237PVPU1BOH7 build number LMY47X. I flashed with Odin what I thought was the right one ( hoping to remove the Knox and CellWii restrictions) and now its stuck on the yellow Sprint Spark boot screen. Any suggestions what to do now are welcome as well. Thanks in advance.
