stock rom
4.4.4
zu 6833
I believe people are busy updating the kernels to support 4.4.4, so just wait a day or two until Doomkernel has been updated.

Hi All,
I installed a custom ROM (HYBROM v17) on my XMP a couple of weeks back. I now want to flash the just released stock ICS firmware to my device.
Will this cause a problem? Do I have to install the Stock ROM before flashing the ICS firmware?

If you want to flash the ftf of 4.0.4 using flashtool, you can do it right away. Check
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690704
For more info.
Thanks,
Rick
Hit Thanks if I helped in anyway.
Thank you but my concern is whether I will face any issues installing ICS firmware while on a Custom ROM that, if I remember well, cited that it is based on .62 firmware.

Basically flashtool will clear the rom on your phone and install the ICS fw on it.
Including baseband and kernel.
So if you have GB on it with .62fw, it does not matter.
The thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690704 already answers your questions about upgrading to ICS.

Great if that's true! Thank you so much
This will work
I can confirm that going from Hybrom V17 to the stock ICS works nicely.

All stock based "custom" ROMs can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development?nocache=1&z=1594593205954879
All non-stock based custom ROMs are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/orig-development
Bear in mind the need for root, custom recovery and unlocked bootloaders in some cases. The OP will state what, if anything, is required.

Just use the ported ROM, a lot safer.
The GPe has a very different partition layout, different bootloader etc so it's not a matter of just flashing the .img files

I have a question related to this topic. Will I be able to run the official Lolipop which was released to day as a FOTA for Xperia Z Ultra GPE through this method?
Or, in other words does this make my 6833 into a stock GPE version update-able to lolipop?

No you will need to wait for the 5.0 port.
Did someone who converted his Z Ultra non-GPe to have a dedicated recovery partition tried to flash the GPe native image yet?
I mean after getting the dedicated recovery partition, ZU and ZU GPe should almost be the same or not?
I'm on Scrubber's GPe port right now, but getting the updates without the need to port them would be great.
Thanks
Sorry OP, but this is not development. Moved to Q&A.
As blueether said, use the ported rom. Despite being the same and looking the same, the Non-GPe and the gpe variants do have differences under the hood.
There are two rules in life for being successful:
1. Never reveal everything you know;
2.
What happen if I accidentally flash a togari_gpe ROM into togari, will it hard brick or it installed with no LTE support just like flashing LTE version to non-LTE?

More than likely it will brick your phone because the GPE Z Ultra has a completely different partition layout than the standard Z Ultra.
Its best just to flash Scrubbers GPE port ROM to your regular Z Ultra because it's an complete port. Your going to have the exact same experience as would if you had a GPE Z Ultra.
Huh?
I think he just wants to flash a gpe rom on his Sony Xperia z ultra in that case make sure you're rooted, bootloader is unlocked and you're on 4.4.4 firmware update

Download the Scrubber Port GPE, full GPE Experience on a non GPE Device, but I like more Cyanogenmod, it is very smooth and fast
Xperia Z Ultra:
Self Made Lollipop 5.0.2 ROM
Cyanogenmod 12 5.0.2
Stock 4.4.4

Nothing will happen. You will only lose Baseband and will have no Cell Signal.
I made that mistake lol. I thought I bought a gpe togari and rooted, unlocked bootloader and flashed Candy5 for GPe....I reset the phone and had no Baseband.
In reality I bought a reg togari... Nothing happened just ftf stick and for everything back. Now in on Resurrection ROM. [emoji2]
onto the NEXT one
Now what if I accidentally flash an .ftf of an LTE/GPe official firmware to non-LTE mode, will it brick the device?

THAT HARD BRICK YOUR DEVICE

If your ROM is stock LB you can just flash the 4.4.4 ftf file using flashtool.
