Well, the thread is mainly just to say "whatssss upppp all! "
I will be joining you guys here as is the new phone I got for xmas but UPS lost it and I'm still waiting for it
And I know the following has been answered, but
Is this more awesome.. cool.. etc.. than the samsung galaxy S2?
(at first I thought I was getting it, but then I was told that that wasn't my gift, but instead the Amaze. So I was happy but also had made expectations for the SGS2)
so yea.. can someone lift me up pls
And its nice to be here, I will be helping many noobs and rooting my phone.
The SGS2 wins,
but the Amaze does have some features better than the SGS2.
Like a better camera, and higher res screen, (higher res, but not as nice)
Battery life is pretty bad though.
Personally, i like the SGS2 better.
But both should be fun. lol

Depends. Do you want a bunch of roms and stuff for your phone? If so, the Amaze is a fail all over. We can't easily update the kernel, can't easily compile a kernel from source, we can't get s-off, some users can't even unlock their bootloader.
It's literally built so it can't be bricked. It's locked down tight by HTC. So if you just want stock and stock like options you have made a good choice. Otherwise you should have gone with the SGSII.
I'm just glad to see you here, you did a lot for the MT3G Slide.

Not all would agree. I have no issues with battery life. Typically have to charge every second day. As for the screen not being as nice.... again I disagree. I don't really like the SGSII screen. But that's me. I also prefer the heft of the phone over the SGSII. I've used both and would rather have the Amaze. The only area it really falls behind is in dev. Hopefully that will change soon. (Telus users still can't even unlock bootloaders!!!)
I don't think one phone really is clearly better than the other. Both are great phones.
Guys I would like your opinion. Should I trade my s 2 for a note?? It will be a simple trade no money involved? Should I do this is the note better?

If you can carry it have have large pockets and its not your primary phone, then yes
But when its your primary phone then its too big to take it everywhere and answering phone calls in public looks very weird
As no money is involved I'd say yes. It's a lovely phone if you can get used to the size. Played with it many times and it's lovely. The screen size is excellent and doesn't seem that big due to its slimness.
The s-pen is quite useful. And development seems good as well.

If I had this offer I would do it without hesitation. Its just a bigger SG2, bigger battery and its a really nice experience especially looking at web sites with the bigger screen. Plus the s pen I say do it.

If you happen to you has used the large size of the Note then takes!
I would keep the S2.
Dewd if u will buy note u cnt tk it with u at all places ... Cuz its screen is to big.. N it will be hard 4 u to take it with u all the time when u go out...

That was sarcasm intended for the member who posted above him.
Anyway, I guess everyone has answered it already. Check out the Note personally and get a feel of it. If you don't mind the size and are comfortable, than definitely go for the trade.

Sorry my friend but i don't agree,,,,, i have both the phones and i promise u , once after using the note for a few days , i am starting to think that this is the siez a smart phone out to be of ,,,trust me the experience is just better with it ,,,

I agree with most who posted here, as I have a friend who has one and am thinking of getting one myself (but want to wait couple more months to see what other new phones coming).
You have to ask yourself What you want to use it for?!
I do a few jobs and one of them is graphics design. Something like that can be useful to me, when I have an idea from out of the blue and want to do a quick mockup.
- or someone in business who answers many emails might like more space.
However - I also think the price of it is a bit high (and I'm not short on money). Here in Asia, can get myself a tab/pad for even cheaper... which will give me better use for what I need.
Hi guys, i had posted this on General and never got a response so posting on the Q&A.
The question i have, more like need input to help me decide, currently i am using a Nexus One and its time i upgrade, I was hoping to land a Nexus 4 but with the way the PlayStore kept giving delays i see no hope of getting one soon unless i pay more and buy from eBay, Therefore i am thinking should i just go for the Galaxy Nexus or which other model would you recommend? My price range is Max 400$, unlocked and which i can play around with it by flashing new ROM's and enjoy the open source of Android.

Camera is decent. Little dull and blurry on details otherwise good. Audio is great. Many roms but it still ain't Galaxy SIII.
Will run all the apps and games you want but I suggest since you in China just a Xiaomi MI3 or such..:good:
They like things of other countries there. It makes them feel cool.
If you can get an E970 for a good price, do it.
It's not the best phone you'll ever use, but it REALLY surprised me with how much I like it.

Personaly satisfied with everything about this phone except its ridgidity. Do not drop it on any of its corners from any height , lol, seriously! Could also be a little thicker , but you can remedy that with the right case for it.
But if you want a phone that bounces back from 10000 flashes like a Boss, good choice. JTAG will fix what u cant. Performance is good with the right ROM Kernel combo, would love to see more ROMS n Kernels for it. But cant cry about that cuz Ive only now played around with porting and Nexus alternatives.
Want a Rom and your able to figure it out or be all ears when someone like our devs here get on IRC with you.... Get on with your badself. that would be a win win for G Devness all together. Ive been able to be pretty fearless with this phone as long as I don't drop it.
I dropped it tons of times.... not a scratch. All thanks to the el cheapo TPU case I ordered from China. Its amazing phone but camera and display by a bit leave me wanting... Also miss the FM and OTG from Galaxy S3

this phone is a good buy, more if you get it from 180-200 dollars, i get it like 1 month ago for 180 in ebay, and is a good phone is a nexus 4 but with sdcard support xD, fo that you always will have the more recent android if nexus 4 have it we can have it

thank you, I've decided to buy this smartphone,I love it,my last phone was lumia 820 ,and the camera is very good ,but, E970 let me feel better.XIAO MI 3 is a pretty good phone ,but,I love unique things ,in china ,iphone and GALAXY is popular, xiaomi is also popular,but ,i don't want my phone is similar with there's, i love blackberry lumia and LG better.I am very happy to see your reply,my english is poor,Forgive me

Overall it's a great phone. When I got it, it was turning heads: "What phone is that? It looks beautiful." The camera is not as good as some, but I rarely use that.
I'm very pleased that I got an LG phone. I will definitely buy another LG phone next time I need one -- even if it's a Google Nexus branded (Nexus 4, Nexus 5, maybe Nexus 6 )

Hello friends, i use smartphones for a long time now and i love this forum. I remember the first ROM i downloaded from here, it was for the HTC Charmer and it is many years ago. I had beautiful and useful ROMs for my Galaxy S2, S3, S4 but now i got a Galaxy Alpha and i am a little bit disappointed because there is only one ROM for it - why? Is there no interest? Is the phone too new? Is it so difficult to modify the code?

Well you don't seem so with small replies like that.
Seriously tho, this phone isn't available in the US besides AT&T and it's seriously locked down. Not selling a phone in the US isn't the end all be all but it really does cut out a pretty big owner base and on top of having a secure boot loader there's no reason to buy it to dev on. It sucks because it's a pretty good phone for people who don't want a phablet.

Ok thank you, now i understand, didn't knew that. Well so i maybe should have taken an S5 instead but the Alpha looks so good...
the other reason , there are barely love for small device anymore in most Asian country.
bigger = better ?
maybe another reason is that 5.0 is coming soon
This is still a very new device and is targeted at a 'top end' user base.
Whilst the US carrier-exclusive deal will not be helping and the small form factor of the phone will put a lot of people off, it is still a superb device and custom ROMs will come in time I feel sure, but will never be on the scale of the amount available for mass-market handsets like the S4 or S5.
