Hey guys
I need your help please with my s3. The power button is stuck, and I can't put the battery inside cause it reboots, reboots all the time and never switch on due to the fact that the button is stuck. Ive tried to take my phone to pieces, but a screw is stuck too !!! I put away the power button but nothing changed.
First, I'd like to turn on my phone, is there any ways to do that? For instance, to disable the power button, or something else I don't know. I just wanna get my pics back. And if someone knows how to resolve this problem with this d*mn button, tell me.
Thank you
nobody can help you from forum ,all we can do is to give you hints , anyway ,did you press to strong on it ? In case of that try to flip around the button (not hard ) ,and don't laugh ,worked for me . If that doesn't work ,i suggest to repair by your own if you know how ,if not ,then service.

Before anyone comes in and tells me I haven't looked and there's a million threads, I've looked at most of them and none of them have my exact problem.
Anyways.
I have a Galaxy Note and I was running PACman v18, and was running just fine until today, minus some random reboots which are completely normal for me. Today it froze and I was expecting it just to reboot but instead the screen goes blank and then my phone starts vibrating every few seconds and doesn't turn on or respond to anything. I pulled the battery and put it back in and I got both of the Samsung screens successfully before it turned off and started vibrating intermittently. Every 4 seconds or so, there would be a short vibrate that felt cut off. Naturally I tried going into download mode but that didn't work. Holding down the volume down provided me with vibrations every 2 seconds although nothing else happened when I pressed any of the other buttons. I then read to hold down the volume down button and insert my battery in, which I did, and it came up, but about 10 seconds later it just dies. Yes my battery is charged completely. So my question is, am I hard bricked? It doesn't sound like it in some ways but other ways it does so I am unsure which is why I came to you guys. Could I use a jig and it work?
Thanks a ton guys in advance.
Hard brick....no
The device acts like it has the stuck power button issue.
A very common problem for us, and it obviously won't allow access to anything.
Before I go any further with other possible issues, I'll relay a bit of info from a thread I saw yesterday with similar problems.
User had the same symptoms, and took a large pink eraser from one of his kids school supplies.
He figured the power button was it, so he gently tapped the power button housing a few times, and presto...working again.
Since no changes were made to the device, the sticky button is looking more plausible.
Of course, if you try it ...be gentle, but it may do the trick.

Thanks. Do you know what section it was on so I can look for it, or better yet, the link?
Can't recall.....I was browsing in the GS3 section and stumbled across several posts.
It seems we aren't the only ones with button issues using Samsung products.
General search for stuck power button issues.
Most say to remove the back of the phone to pop the button back out, and to clean it .....but yikes ....be very careful and read plenty if attempting that.
Sorry ...I don't have more info than that..
Let me browse here, and see if I can find a bit more info on the subject ...g

Hi all,
In need of help urgently.
I've bought an S3 for dad recently and have finally unboxed it after the arrival of the microsim.
Went through the walk through to set up the phone, with timezone and such when you first start the phone.
Added all his contacts and noticed the screen being unresponsive toward the end of it.
Now, the screen does not respond at all. Meaning I can't swipe to open screen or receive call if phone is ringing.
I have made no adjustments to the phone, it was stock. All I've done is added some contacts saved to sim card.
Mind you, the power button still responds, so I can turn screen on and off..
Please help, I don't know if it is deemed faulty or not, what is the problem here and how can I fix it?
Brand new? If so return for warranty, easiest solution tbh

Yes it is brand new, I had just opened it today.
It was probably on for an hour before this happened.
Is it still doing it?
Also it might be downloading an update if you set up firmware update, that process might cause problems.

I would personally take it back and let them deal with it

Well if it's automatic update then I don't know but I didn't set up wifi so I don't know if it can?
Is there any solutions to this screen fix?
How would I go about getting it to respond again, given any scenario.
the best solution like mentioned....would be to get a replacement if its under warranty.
however in the mean time u can try to go ahead and remove the battery and keep it out for some time and then restarting it. also try plugging in ur device and charging it for some time.
(Sometimes there is no explanation to why such problems occur so i suggest dont do anything that will void warranty...but if everything mentioned here fails, get it replaced)
Suggest factory reset .
Hold down home button + Vol UP + Power .
Ssamsung screen shows let go .
In recovery Factory reset returns to out of the box state and cures any user errors .

Ok, I've already removed the battery and sim and I'm gonna leave it out for the night and try again tomorrow.
But before I did that, I've tried to see if anything had changed after turning it off for some hours, but nothing has.
Anyway, if that fails, I'll try to factory reset tomorrow and see if that does anything.
In the mean time I've sent them an email about this just incase I do need to get it returned.
Thanks for the tips, if there is anything else I can try, please let me know. Would be much appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT:
Ok guys, I just had to do a factory reset now.
Factory reset complete and restarted phone.
Phone boots fine, and the tutorial starts like you turn the phone on for the first time.
Screen still doesn't respond, power button is the only thing that still works.
What does this mean, and will warranty void if I had done a factory reset on the phone like so?
Thanks.

No void warranty its only restored out of the box and the first thing service try is factory restore .
Return phone to the vendor as not fit for purpose .

Thanks a lot jje.
I guess I've got no choice but to let them deal with it.
Thread cleaned I think we have discussed the use of the thanks button enough.
Question has been asked and answered so time to close this up before any more drama ensues
I've noticed a glitch that's developed on my phone recently. Let me describe the behavior after I hit the glitch: the first symptom that I recognize is that the LCD won't turn on as soon as I press the power button. It takes a random amount of time since the press: sometimes 3 seconds, sometimes longer, or even don't turn on at all. My only choice is then to pull the battery off! After the glitch is hit, the battery drains super fast.
The only correlation I've managed to muster is the Wifi. I think it happens if the Wifi goes down while the phone is connected. I think it also happens if I switch access points (for example when I move to one building to another at work).
It appears as if something related to Wifi is stuck in a busy loop or something. My only graceful exit out of the problem is to reboot the phone. Often I couldn't act in time and have had missed alarms and such.
I also know that it's a recent development; something that I've noticed happening only for couple of months. I'm thinking of resetting the phone to factory settings and starting over again. Before I do that I thought I'd ask around if this sounds something familiar or tastes like any known issues. Is there any diagnostics or logs that I can provide? Or are they any apps that I can install that can tell what's eating the battery so fast (currently it's telling me Android OS!)?
My phone is Karbonn A9+ (bought from India) and runs Android 4.0.4.

Hi, I recently (like 5 minutes ago) rooted my lg g2 ls980 from sprint and it was fine. it wasnt until i tried to flash a cyanogenmod nightly, the latest one for cm11 on my phone and now its stuck in a boot loop. Ive tried to boot it into recovery but it wont work when i press the buttons (home and vol. down). Im freaking out, and ill admit it im just an ameture and didnt really know what I was doing, but I just got this phone as a replacement for my stolen phone and my parents will kill me if we have to pay a fortune for sprint to fix it if they even can. im using the latest version of twrp I think for the ls980 but it wont let me boot into it. help please as soon as possible. thank you!! Hopefully people still watch this forum I know its a little dated
You must from powered off. Hold power and volume down hold simultaniously til you see boot screen then then let go and press both again. It should work.

Hello guys
Every now and then, when i press the power button it doesn't respond unless i long press it. Sometimes it takes 10 seconds or even longer, then it works normally for a short while, then it doesn't reapond again.
Restarting or force restarting doesn't fix it.
""*This problem is not exclusive to Note 5, many devices do the same and it's not a hardware issue *""
Anyone has a solution to that?

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

I did that.. But 1 file Rom.. Nothing changed
Curious, how do you know that this is not a hardware issue? My Note 5 doesn't do this, never experienced this on any of my Android devices.
