2nd SIM card slot not working - Micromax A116

Hi friends,
Yesterday I tried inserting a micro sim in 2nd slot. After that, 2nd SIM Card slot of mobile is not working. 1st SIM card slot is working fine 2g & 3G. I have checked IMEI of both slots. Both IMEI are present. I want to ask that whether it is covered under warranty?? And what is replacement cost, if it is not covered under warranty?

Bcoz u crashed any pin of sim slot !!

The contacts of sim card tray are broken due to micro to.mini sim adapter. The pin broke when removing the Adapter(with sim). You all should be.careful about that.
The replacement cost is rs. 280.

If it is replaced it will work ? Or 50/50 options

Strangest problem I've seen .
Okay:
-Grab a dust-free eraser
-Grab your affected SIM card
-Use the eraser and slowly rub it over the contacts of the SIM card (yellow area)
Try again and see if it works

that trick always work with my old pc ram, whenever it dont wanna boot, i just take off the ram and rub the metal connector on it with a soft rubber eraser
i think what it does is kinda removing dirt/dust/electro static on the connector
That works on my pc too but the same sim card is working properly on stock roms

[Q] No SIM

I have bought SGS 3 from retail shop in India. But I'm in Sri Lanka. when I insert my sim and start the phone, It's says "No Sim". I can't access to the Mobile Networks also. Please someone know solution for this please let me know soon.
Ensure the Sim is pushed all the way into the slot and locked. Push it in against the spring and it should clip in.
Try another Sim?
Is you Sim damaged? Did you cut it?
Did you buy the phone Sim unlocked?
Edit: Is your Sim card activated with your carrier?

Signal bars will show even without any sim card. Did you get a micro sim from your provider or did you cut a normal sized sim? If you cut it, then it may be damaged.
If you have a sim adapter, try it with your old phone. Otherwise, try your card with another phone which accepts micro sim. Or, try another micro sim with your gs3. if nothing works, then you probably need to bring it in for servicing.

Even if the phone is not unlocked/ not activated, it should still ask for a PIN code, and recognize the SIM, it will just say: "No network/No Signal"... I got my phone yesterday, and the SIM wasn't activated, all it said was no signal, could not register in network, your scnd. point is most likely, that happens a lot, when trying to make a micro-SIM out of a "normal" SIM/U-SIM
I bought original Micro SIM, I didn't cut it. Anyway I tried another network sim card. I' glad to say, It's work perfectly.

[Q] Sim card holder broken?

I have a cut down sim card that i use for my galaxy s3. The sim card holder accpeted the cut down sim and everything was fine. It would click out and in fine. Today after i flashed a new rom the mobile data kept dropping out. I thought it was my sim so i tried to click it out and it wouldnt come out. I seached ways to take it out online and finally used a thumb tack to slowly push it out in the little hole. Now the sim wont fit in the phone and everytime i shake my phone a ting sound comes from the sim card slot. I think it is broken. Where would i be able to fix it? Will warrenty cover that? thanks.

i believe warranty will not cover that considering...
1. you applied force in taking the sim card out..
2. it is not a factory defect

[Q] SIM card holder broken or region lock

how can you see that there is a region lock on either the SIM card holder is broken
There will always be No SIM, Insert sim card.
In another samsung s3 does the SIM card is perfect, so the SIM card is not the problem!
Maybe someone can help me here ?
Sorry for my bad english
SIM holder is broken, if phone was network locked it would prompt you for the unlock code. Best try another SIM card first, but it sounds like you need a service centre.
you are very sure?
thx

will micro sim work?

I just purchased a Poco F1 and now realize it uses a nano sim in the primary slot but I have a micro sim and won't be able to exchange it for nano sim for weeks because I'm on the road.
Will a micro sim work in the second slot without anything in the nano slot?

Micro sim will not fit in the slot.
If u have any namo sim, u can trace an outline on the micro and cut it. You will have to be very careful and accurate or u will lose sim functionality .
In india it is very easily rectified as every corner shop will have a cutting tool.
I received my poco f1 today. The micro SIM fits fine in the second slot. Of course this is not ideal as it takes up the slot that can be used for a micro SD card. But it does work.
