I have following "problem":
Over night my Nexus 5 is in airplane mode. If someone sends me a text message during the night and I turn off airplane mode and receive the message, Handcent only shows the time when I received the message. Even when I click on details it shows the same time for Datetime of recipient sent message and Datetime of received message. Obviously it could have been coincidence and the text message was sent exactly in that moment. But it happens every time. So I wonder if it's a Android 4.x problem (it used to work a year or two ago) or a network one (Three UK)?

Hi guys, It's possible to know the times of the message has been sent?
when i turn on my x10, it only shows the times of the messages are being received. It does matter to me when the message is being sent.
for example: if someone send a message for an emergency at 1pm, and fews hours later, you turn your phone on and see the times of the message being received on your x10 which is quiet late for an emergency.
On my N97. It does have this feature which is very useful to me.
Just long press on the message and you should get a pop up with View Message Details and it gives you the time.
On the Handcent SMS app which I prefer to the stock app, it gives you a time just above the speech bubble containng the message on the thread.

thanks for your input, but i dont think you understand my question.
This also annoys me. Every phone I have ever had has been able to show me the time the message was sent, not just received. But even when long pressing and then selecting 'Message Details', it still only shows the time it was received, annoying!
still no one can answer this?? that's suck
Hi Guys,
When you get an incoming message(SMS) when your phone is not reachable/no signal then the message will be delivered to you when your phone gets enough signal. If we look at the time of the received message, the actual time at which the message was sent should be displayed. But in Galaxy S3, the message received time is displayed which is creating lots of issues and missunderstanding.
Eg., Consider, your friend sends you a message at 3PM while your phone is not reachable. Your phone becomes reachable at 5PM so you will be receiving your friend’s message at 5PM. Now in your inbox the 'message sent time' should be shown as 3PM and not 5PM. But in Galaxy S3 the time will be shown as 5PM.
Have anyone noticed this?. It’s not a big issue but it is becoming very difficult by not knowing the exact time when the message was sent.
Any solution for this?
I send a text then 30 seconds later receive a text. The received text displays as if it was received prior to when mine was sent.
I have my phone set to network time. I believe this is happening because the network time between the carriers must be different. The text comes in with a timestamp 30 seconds prior to the local phone time when the phone gets the text.
I guess I will try manually synchronizing the clock and disabling network time.
Has anyone experienced this?
Is it just me or does this happen to everyone? It happens every time not randomly.
I get a hangouts (or text though hangouts) and I reply by voice with watch. If someone sends me a message again before my message says sent (or even right after with in a couple seconds) then my message never goes through unless I go check the dialog chat even though I get the green check box saying sent...
Very annoying! !

This is happening to me sometime but still haven't got to replicate and troubleshoot this issue
I am having the exact issue as well. It doesn't seem to be limited to just getting another hangouts message, but another notification period.
Getting a notification around the same time seems to almost always cancel my outbound message and it doesn't show up anywhere even though the watch says Sent. I have no idea how to fix this, is there any direct way to report these problems to the development team?
I have now had my M9 for 2 days. As with my M8 on 5.0.2, texting seems to restart frequently. There is a delay on incoming messages and every time you start the app it seems to reload messages.
When you start the app the contacts appear but when you go to a contact the messages area is blank, the timing circle appears and many seconds later the messages appear. New messages may or may not appear for an even longer period.
After several texts you get either am 'Messages is Restarting' message or now I am getting an error report and a request to send data . . . .
This same thing that happened when my M8 upgraded to 5.0.2
Has anyone had the same problem or found a resolution . . .
I am not having that issue, but I am using GO SMS Pro and not stock messaging. Have you tried other messaging?
