Incoming Message time problem in Galaxy S3. Noticed? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
When you get an incoming message(SMS) when your phone is not reachable/no signal then the message will be delivered to you when your phone gets enough signal. If we look at the time of the received message, the actual time at which the message was sent should be displayed. But in Galaxy S3, the message received time is displayed which is creating lots of issues and missunderstanding.
Eg., Consider, your friend sends you a message at 3PM while your phone is not reachable. Your phone becomes reachable at 5PM so you will be receiving your friend’s message at 5PM. Now in your inbox the 'message sent time' should be shown as 3PM and not 5PM. But in Galaxy S3 the time will be shown as 5PM.
Have anyone noticed this?. It’s not a big issue but it is becoming very difficult by not knowing the exact time when the message was sent.
Any solution for this?

My XDA appears to be sending two copies of a text message when I send it.
I'm running Radio 4.21.00 CE 4.01.00 on an O2 device, i've been through all the menus I can think of but can't see anything...
Could it be something to do with having / not having +44 infront of the phone number i'm sending to.??
Cheers
Neil
I had this happen to me just around Christmas time (about 3 days after I had the phone), anyone I sent messages to received 2, 3 or even 4 messages.
I contacted my provider and they said this can happen when the network is very busy (I thought it would be dropping them), but low and behold after the XMas period was over it all come back to normal.
I don't think I was actually sending 2 messages as I would only get one "Message Sent" notification come up, and only one delivery cofirmation received back.
If this is your experience then it is the network, if the problem is otherwise, sorry I can't be of anymore help

Anyone managed to find a fix for this, or figure out why it could be happening ??

Ok, I may have found a work around for this..
It seems to send two copies when I tap "send" then tap the "X" before I have got the "message sent" popup.
If I wait until that pop's up then click the "X" it only seems to send one copy..
Are you guys that were having problems using any software that makes "X" actually close rather than minimize ??
(I'm using PocketPlus)
Cheers
Neil
i use pocke tplus too but i dont close it or nothing.... i just hit send it got blip chows credit blip shows credit again blip shows credit then message box saying message sent but it cost me like 30p for one bluddy text :\

Texting Issue with Galaxy S2

Hi all, I have a texting issue with my new Galaxy S2, it is rooted and unlocked. It texts fine but when I receive messages like 1min or any minute after my last text to that person, their text time is shown as an hour before my time.
For instance I text my girlfriend at 10:00pm, she replies at 10:01pm in the next, on my phone I would receive her text as 9:01pm and it always shows above the balloon of my last text. This is annoying because, I know they replied but I have to scroll up to see the last response.
Any idea what I can do to fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Afrowookie
Is she in a different time zone as that's usually why it does that. CyanogenMod included a GMT offset based on the senders time. Does this only happen with your new phone or it happened with the old one too?
HOWEVER, i should say that I don't get that issue. My gf just went to Germany and she text me when she landed and it shows up with the propery timing. So her phones shows stuff correctly? Maybe it's the message center she's using still on old time (never udpated it's time for the time change).
we are in the same time zone. I had the phone set to Atlantic time -4:00 GMT. But I just set it to Automatic(Use network provided values) but now it says Atlantic Daylight savings time -3:00GMT, but it seems to be working now.
Thanks

[Q] Galaxy S3 wont receive text messages

hey guys, I searched the forum and so far no one has been able to give a clear answer. So here I am. I got my S3 about 10 days ago. And what I've noticed is that sometimes my message tone will play for no reason. Like the message tone will play, when I check my phone, nothing. Absolutely Nothing. Then my friend tells me that he messaged me. I'm like no you didn't. I've noticed that I don't get a lot of texts actually. I also noticed that while I was in a call, I received the message. Any ideas?
When I first read your title I immediately thought that it may be due to your 'Message Center' information (within the SMS settings) not being populated. However, reading your "symptoms" that's probably not the case. It might be worth checking either way though.
Are you using a stock rom?
Was this issue ever solved?
I have the same issue (Omega 34 rom)
The phone will vibrate and LED will flash, but no message is received. It only happens occasionally.
Any thoughts?

order of texts

I send a text then 30 seconds later receive a text. The received text displays as if it was received prior to when mine was sent.
I have my phone set to network time. I believe this is happening because the network time between the carriers must be different. The text comes in with a timestamp 30 seconds prior to the local phone time when the phone gets the text.
I guess I will try manually synchronizing the clock and disabling network time.
Has anyone experienced this?

Timestamp text messages

I have following "problem":
Over night my Nexus 5 is in airplane mode. If someone sends me a text message during the night and I turn off airplane mode and receive the message, Handcent only shows the time when I received the message. Even when I click on details it shows the same time for Datetime of recipient sent message and Datetime of received message. Obviously it could have been coincidence and the text message was sent exactly in that moment. But it happens every time. So I wonder if it's a Android 4.x problem (it used to work a year or two ago) or a network one (Three UK)?
