Texting Issue with Galaxy S2 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I have a texting issue with my new Galaxy S2, it is rooted and unlocked. It texts fine but when I receive messages like 1min or any minute after my last text to that person, their text time is shown as an hour before my time.
For instance I text my girlfriend at 10:00pm, she replies at 10:01pm in the next, on my phone I would receive her text as 9:01pm and it always shows above the balloon of my last text. This is annoying because, I know they replied but I have to scroll up to see the last response.
Any idea what I can do to fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Afrowookie

Is she in a different time zone as that's usually why it does that. CyanogenMod included a GMT offset based on the senders time. Does this only happen with your new phone or it happened with the old one too?
HOWEVER, i should say that I don't get that issue. My gf just went to Germany and she text me when she landed and it shows up with the propery timing. So her phones shows stuff correctly? Maybe it's the message center she's using still on old time (never udpated it's time for the time change).

we are in the same time zone. I had the phone set to Atlantic time -4:00 GMT. But I just set it to Automatic(Use network provided values) but now it says Atlantic Daylight savings time -3:00GMT, but it seems to be working now.
Thanks

Sequential Text Messages?

Hey, so I got my Hero yesterday and loving it. It seems that a lot of people are getting the wrong text time when receiving messages. I've looked up a few of the solutions but nothings really working yet. Anyone successfully fix it? My automatic time is off and all.
Second thing is, is there a way to change the format of the text as its displayed in a thread. This might be directly related to the text time, because right now I'm texting someone and their texts are in the 8am area and mine are at the real time (1pm). It'd be nice to have them displayed correctly as a conversation cause I have to scroll to the middle to see the new texts. Or can I turn off displaying the ones I sent?
Hopefully I'm making some sense.

delayed text messages

right,
my wifes starting to lose her temper with her hero.
she send over 150 text messages a day, but receiving them seems to be a very hit and miss affair.
she gets texts ok for a while, then gets nothing for 10-20 mins (from what i can tell) then all the ones she has missed arrive all at once.
orange UK have basically told her to naff off and talk to HTC.
so, can anyone tell me whats causing the problems, is it an orange problem, or a phone problem.
if its the phone, whats causing the problem
doing a bit of a search, one explanation seems to be that the phone is running out of memory and it shuts down the text app and relaunches it later on, if so, how can i prevent/stop this happening.
she is on the current rom from HTC which she installed about 10 days ago to try and prevent this.
thanks in advance for any advice / help you can give
from what i have read on the forum it might be a problem with the stock messaging app.
try installing handcent sms or chomp sms from the market and see how that goes.
don't forget to turn off the notifications from the stock sms app or you will get multiple notifications for the same message.
also if your wife is using task killer applications she should put the messaging app on the ignore list!
Me too!
I am having this very same problem, although on a slightly smaller scale (150 texts/day?!). I also get the problem where callers are going straight to my voicemail when the phone is right beside me, receiving full signal, which, to my mind, would seem to be related.
I spoke to Orange who fobbed me off with "oh, there's a mast down in your area, switch to use 2G only", despite my protestations that the problem occurred when I was in different parts of the country...
Interestingly, it happened with my Touch Diamond as well when I first got that, about 18 months ago; I was never sure that it was completely cured, but it sure as hell wasn't as bad as it is now on my 2 month old Hero with stock Orange ROM.
My twopenneth, for what it's worth.
P.
Try a new updated Radio rom maybe? One way to tell if its a network issue is to make calls to 150 for about 10 seconds and see if the stuck messages come through, if so its a network issue. I wouldn't let orange customer service fob you off they don't have the reporting tools to actually look into the issue's.

[Q] How to correct time stamp in messages

I bought a bell sgs2 and unlocked it to use with rogers. Now my time stamps for texts are all wrong. The ones i sent are right times but the ones i receive are 5 hours late.
Example: i get the message at 10:00pm but it shows the message was received at 5:00pm
Any fix to this? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I have the same issue. The only solution I know is to download the Rogers SMS app from the Market. It will automatically correct the time for you.

[Q] Galaxy S3 wont receive text messages

hey guys, I searched the forum and so far no one has been able to give a clear answer. So here I am. I got my S3 about 10 days ago. And what I've noticed is that sometimes my message tone will play for no reason. Like the message tone will play, when I check my phone, nothing. Absolutely Nothing. Then my friend tells me that he messaged me. I'm like no you didn't. I've noticed that I don't get a lot of texts actually. I also noticed that while I was in a call, I received the message. Any ideas?
When I first read your title I immediately thought that it may be due to your 'Message Center' information (within the SMS settings) not being populated. However, reading your "symptoms" that's probably not the case. It might be worth checking either way though.
Are you using a stock rom?
Was this issue ever solved?
I have the same issue (Omega 34 rom)
The phone will vibrate and LED will flash, but no message is received. It only happens occasionally.
Any thoughts?

Incoming Message time problem in Galaxy S3. Noticed?

Hi Guys,
When you get an incoming message(SMS) when your phone is not reachable/no signal then the message will be delivered to you when your phone gets enough signal. If we look at the time of the received message, the actual time at which the message was sent should be displayed. But in Galaxy S3, the message received time is displayed which is creating lots of issues and missunderstanding.
Eg., Consider, your friend sends you a message at 3PM while your phone is not reachable. Your phone becomes reachable at 5PM so you will be receiving your friend’s message at 5PM. Now in your inbox the 'message sent time' should be shown as 3PM and not 5PM. But in Galaxy S3 the time will be shown as 5PM.
Have anyone noticed this?. It’s not a big issue but it is becoming very difficult by not knowing the exact time when the message was sent.
Any solution for this?
