You've got to activate 3G on Reliance first...
Some providers do not preactivae 3G on the sims...
FYI, on Aircel u've got to send a text START 3G to 121 to start using 3G..
Check with your provider whether they've got some provisions like this...
Just check whether there is any E icon on the network icon or is it showing 3G/H+???
The latter shows that 3G is activated...
Hope this helps... :good:

here i find the Reliance network is not providing the service for what the user is using. if one has enabled all the activation process, why it should not start with the 3g network directly even if the signal is poor.

signal shows 'e' then after 4 to 5 minutes it shows h+ inspite of having full network

That's because the area where you're at present does not has 3G coverage...
This happens to any network...
If you go out of 3G coverage region or reach the fringes, this occurs...

3G problem on Moto E
I'm using the Motorola Moto E - Global GSM - Unlocked - 4GB (Black) sold on Amazon.
I relative of mine coming in from UK brought it for me.
I have been using it for 2 days in Mumbai and my carrier is Vodafone.
The problem is that i am unable to connect to 3g on my handset no matter what I do. I have accessed the Supermenu and tried using the WCDMA only option in which i was unable to connect to any network at all and the GSM option only Gives me EDGE as my network type. I know it is a Handset issue and not a carrier issue as i tried my SIM card in an Samsung Galaxy S4 and was able to use H+ network.
I am new on this forum so if you guys could help me i'd be really grateful.

Settings>Wireless and networks>Mobile networks. Make sure "Use only 2G networks" is untick. Btw getting 3g signal doesnt related with apn setting at all. And regarding buying a new sim while keeping the old number, do contact ur service provider itself.

Hi mate,
I'm from India too..
The settings for Airtel 3G and normal GPRS are the same.
Just pay for a 3G pack and also try what this guy said :

Check in "Mobile networks" if "Use only 2G" (or "GSM only" in that case take WCDMA) is unchecked. If that doesn't solve problem, tell us which ROM you use, kernel etc..sys info

Follow this, if it doesn't work, your APNs may be messed up.

[Q] Has anyone got ATT Lumia 920 work on T-Mobile network?

Hi there, I just got my Lumia 920 ATT unlocked, I got the 20 digits unlock code from ATT customer service. But I found it cannot get any signal after I push my T-Mobile SIM card in, it says "No service" and the signal bar is grayed out with a forbidden sign on it, even if I choose to join T-Mobile network manually in cellular settings page. And the most strange thing is, if I call someone using T-Mobile SIM card, the signal comes back quickly, the call could be connected successfully, but after hang up, signal is gone again.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes of course. After powered down and up, the phone has signal, but after few seconds, signal is gone again.

The signal bar on the Lumia represents the signal strength of the LTE network which is what the phone attempts to use by default at all times so it can get data for live tiles and such. You may not be in one of T-mos reframed areas yet so your phone is unable to get service on the LTE bands. When you make a call the phone will drop to 3g service and that is why you see bard then as they represent the 3g signal strength. Or it might drop to radio service. Once the call ends the phone will go back to LTE service as it needs a full time data connection to function with live tiles.

Thanks for reply, I have tried to specify network manually in settings->cellular page, None of 'T-Mobile (LTE, 4G)' and 'T-Mobile G' are lucky. In my understanding if I choose 'T-Mobile G' then the phone should stay on GSM/EDGE or 3G network, please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, it gets LTE, but there are issues using the hotspot and having MMS. (I have MMS, but no hotspot. Phone claims it's not activated on my account. Tmobile checked with their engineers and said it's all good on their end; the issue was with Nokia/MS.)
I've read online that if you don't download the access point app, the hotspot works, but MMS settings aren't correct.

[Q] Help about using HSPA

Hi all!
Im using a moto E with Tata Docomo sim.
The problem is that when I change my network mode to WCDMA only, the phone shows only 3G and not H+. However, when I go out of my home, I get H+ with full signal.
I've talked to customer care and the issue is that another cell tower which doesnt support HSPA is stronger in my home so the phone connects to it and only shows 3G even when data transfer takes place. 3G is so much slower than HSPA/HSPAP.
Is there any way I can force my phone to connect to HSPA/HSDPA only?? I dont mind if the signal drops a little. Since it is possible to force the phone to using 3G only, I thought forcing to 3.5G could also be done
Also my phone is rooted so changing any system file is not a problem.
Please help..
Thank you.

H or H+ is your data network displaying that you are using HSPA technology for internet on your phone.
Don't know about the signal strength...

You don't need to worry about the icon my friend .
There were different bandwidths even in 3g networks. When u see H+ icon , it was sure that u are getting better speed over Normal 3g network("H" in your case) .

i put the launcher because i have no idea what the issue is/was. all i know is that i get good internet {lte} full bars
and then in the same location when i receive or make a call it drops to one or two bars and the call comes out barely audible,
especially when im in my vehicle and i start to drive

So what I understood is , signal drops to minimum when you got a call and comes to normal when you disconnect the call .
If I am right , just do one thing ..
Take a logcat before making a call and after attempting the call save it and send me or baDeamon in PM .
Sent from my KIW-L22 using Tapatalk
No need for a logcat .
the issue is that he had a 4g LTE and while getting a call network will switch to 3g or 2g and normally it will drop cause each basband have different strength !..
its normal and If u have bad reception means the 2g or 3g network is not good that area !..

But I din't mean that , I was assuming that his network signal loose strength on the same network (H in his case ) ..

loosing the strength of network always depend on network strength only . if he can got a LTE Then he have no issue with software

This is true . but I thought to confirm this by seeing his logs . coz we can't judge something directly without proper investigation
Correct , I believe he need to read about using logcat first ! am assuming he have no idea about that already !.
