Verizon S3 with Bad Recovery - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings,
I recently rooted my Verizon 4.4.2 S3 using TowelRoot. (SCH-I535) Afterward I attempted to flash TWRP using ODIN. I kept getting an error message when flashing. I think tried TWRP Manager. I selected the proper IMG and flashed. It said flash successful. When I enter recovery I receive a LARGE yellow caution triangle with the message, "System Software not Authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest VW store for help."
I attempted to flash the factory recovery (Verizon-SCH-I535-StockRecovery.tar) using ODIN. It says the flash is successful but I still receive the same error message. My flash counter is at zero. Any idea how I can either get my factory Recovery back or get a functional recovery?
Thanks so much!

This is only for the s3 i9300 INTERNATIONAL.
Everything you try to flash will brick you're phone.

Need Some Help!

So I'd been having some problems lately with my phone hanging on the Samsung screen on boot. Been running CM11 1/1/2014 nightly most recently. Decided to try using TWRP instead of CWM. That didn't seem to help my issue, so I tried installing CWM again. I used an app called Recovery Tools to download the touch version of CWM. After it said it installed, I tried to boot into recovery and got the error "Unauthorized software found. Please contact Verizon." (paraphrased a little).
Doing some research it looks like that error typically comes up when the bootloader is locked. Now, obviously I had my bootloader unlocked (well, Loki'd) because I was running CM11. Any help fixing this? I'm able to bypass the warning screen on boot if I hold down vol up + power like I'm going into download mode, but then hit vol down to cancel to boot up the phone. Once booted everything is ok, but any reboot just brings that up again. Using ROM manager to flash CWM recovery seems to work ok and it says its installed, but same issue. So does trying to flash TWRP from Goo.
If I were to run this tool that I used to root and loki before (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301720) to install a recovery, would I be able to get everything going again? I think that somehow the recovery I installed wasn't Loki'd, although I picked the right one for my device.
Thank you in advance for any replies.
The fix I found was by pure dumb luck. I ended up trying to flash a recovery with Odin. Odin failed but reboot back into the os. I then used the twrp manager app from the playstore (mainly because goomanager wasn't downloading the recovery at the time) to flash the latest twrp recovery and all was good. Even though Odin failed at flashing the recovery I still think it helped somehow. I haven't thought much about why but I might have to now.

You could probably try using ODIN to get back to stock MDK and then Re-Root and install a recovery after.
Edit: And then flash CM11 again.

Will this one-click stock ROM work?
http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p... S4 (Verizon) (SCH-I545)/Stock ROMs/One-Click
or, which of the files on this page are what I would want? (about 1/3 of the way down for SCH-I545)

I was actually able to reflash TWRP w/ their app from the Play Store. Still get a lot of boot hangs on the Samsung logo though. Seemed to happen less with CWM, but now I'm too scared to try to install a different recovery. I appreciate all your help guys.

Installed ROM and bricked my phone?

Hi everyone
I have an GT-S5830i, and a flashed a ROM called SGS3 V.50 using recovery.
Well, installed, didn't show any error.. I did a full wipe to make sure works.
But then, when I restarted the phone got stuck in "Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i", and I can't get into recovery or download mode.
Any hope?
Use JTag.
Flash stock rom via odin.

[Q] Help Fix Galaxy S III I9300

I rooted my galaxy s3 i9300 yesterday and then installed cwm recovery on it. after that i decided to back up my device via the recovery mode, when back up was done, i got a message like 'root access lost, fix, yes or no', i chose to fix and i'm stuck with the android man screen that says 'downloading ... do not turn off target!!!'. i can still boot to recovery tho. how do i fix this?
Try factory reset but you may have to reflash your firmware with Odin.
Make sure your cwm is the latest version.

Click to collapse
Reboot to recovery and try to re-root manually or via ODIN with chainfire cf-root.
I think you need to re-flash root via Odin

[Q] How to flash stock recovery

I was messing around with my phone and flashed the wrong recovery file for it. Now every time I try to boot the phone into recovery, I get a message saying that it is an unapproved program and I need to bring it into the Verizon store to correct the problem. I guess this is what is called a "soft brick". To fix it, I just boot into download mode and then cancel. The phone boots up normally after this. My question is, how do I go about flashing the samsung stock recovery so that I won't keep getting this error? Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Build number is NG6
You'll need to install Safestrap. Our phones can't run custom recoveries unless you have the mdk bootloader

[Q] Can't seem to flash Stock Firmware with Odin

I am playing around with my old S3 and decided to root and load custom firmware. I was dumb and rooted via towelroot then installed Clockwork Recovery... before reading up on the fact that my S3 running 4.4.2 (Build I535VRUDNE1) has a locked bootloader. Whoops. Now my recovery seems to be bricked (Yellow Verizon triangle warning of unauthorized software).
I have followed the steps in this thread to flash the stock recovery using ODIN 3.09. I don't get any error messages and it appears successful within ODIN, but when I try to boot into recovery afterwards, I get the same yellow Verizon triangle.
For what it's worth, Odin mode is showing my binary count as 2 ("BOOTLADER RP SWREV: 2")
What am I doing wrong?
